CASA DEL SOL / HIDDEN GEM IN THE MAYAN RIVIERA

Akumal House Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

Casa del Sol and Casa de Luna are located near the small Mexican town of Chemuyil. These adorable casas are available to rent as single family or group rentals. Chan-Chemuyil is the perfect place to vacation due to it's close proximity to the other commercialized vacation spots (Playa Del Carmen or Tulum). Visit them for the day and then return to enjoy the peacefulness of a secluded vacation home. You will be provided all of the amenities of a home including a full kitchen, king sized mattress, 2 twin mattresses in the spare room, air conditioning units in each room and an LCD TV with dvd player in front of a huge comfortable sectional. The back yard has a palapa covered deck that provides shelter from the elements. If you are renting as a group, your patio is joined under the same palapa, making a wonderful place to enjoy family meals or having a cool drink in the evening.

Our vacation homes are perfectly situated in the Mayan Riviera for guests who would like to explore. There are many things to do within a short driving distance suitable for both explorers and families. Cenotes, Beautiful Beaches, Mayan Ruins, Shopping, Restaurants, Eco parks, Water parks, Mayan cultural shows, Spider Monkey sanctuaries, Turtle sanctuaries with tours and release programs, Internet Cafes, Night Clubs, Golfing, Fishing, Scuba diving, Horseback riding, etc...

Xcacel beach is located minutes away. It is considered to be the feature benefit of renting our homes. It is a government protected sanctuary for the endangered loggerhead and greenback turtles. It is also a nesting area for these majestic animals to come from July to September and lay their eggs. Moonlight tours are available to witness this amazing event. It is also the most amazing beach for soaking up the sun, getting a tan and enjoy the soothing sounds of the crystal blue Caribbean Ocean lapping onto the shore. If you are comfortable in the water, grab a boogie board and have some fun. The waves are usually perfect.

Make no mistake, Casa del Sol and Casa de Luna are in the perfect spot for your Mayan Riviera vacation. Property managers are available 24/7 and the development has many friendly locals and retired multinationals happy to help you enjoy your vacation. Visit our website link located below to find out more about the area and all it has to offer. Mi Casa es su Casa, Bienvenidos! (Our home is your home, Welcome!)

Hola! We are the Manly's. We live in Sherwood Park Alberta, Canada. We first visited the Mayan Riviera in 2006 and truly fell in love with this beautiful region. The food, the people and the beaches were a few of our favorite things. While visiting in 2007, we stumbled upon a little hidden gem called Chemuyil. We were lucky enough to find our casa there, and have put several hours of work and love into this little piece of paradise. Now we would like to share it with you, and your family. Please take a look at our website for more details. Bienvenidos! Mi Casa Es Su Casa! Welcome! My house is your house!

Jason Manly purchased this house in 2007

Once you visit, you will understand! This entire area has so much culture and beauty, it will take years to explore it all. We always find fun and interesting things to do while visit. As a couple, or as a family, we never get tired of the beautiful sights, sounds and people of the maya. See our link to our website to learn more about the region, our house and why we love this area.

We were so lucky to find a place so close to a beach that has to be one of the most beautiful, mesmerizing places on earth. Within a 10 minute walk of our front door, you can see the crystal clear blue waters of the Caribbean, a natural fresh water cenote, and the whitest softest sand you can imagine. Grab a cooler, chair and umbrella. Head to the beach for a relaxing day in the sun, or take a boogieboard and some snorkels to hit the waves or see some wonderful sealife. We love it there.

Stay at Casa Del Sol

Booking this home couldn't have been more simple and hassle free. From the moment I contacted Jason he responded in a timely and helpful manner and I was able to move on to the more fun aspects of planning for an international trip without dealing with the hassle of, sometimes, spending weeks of back and forth emails with an owner to secure the place. Furthermore, he handled the transactions through paypal quickly and efficiently and gave excellent directions from the airport that made finding the place almost too simple. Even after me forgetting information about the lock box and asking for clarification he was more than happy to reiterate the instructions to me.

Upon arriving everything that was showcased on the web was true to life, leaving my partner and I with only good impressions. The place was clean and had everything ready to go but what we enjoyed most was the location. There are endless amounts of cenotes within twenty minutes of the home in either north or south, access to ruins such as the Tulum, Coba, and Chichén Itzá (though further at about and hour and a half away), Akumal is about ten minutes away and offers their traditional pueblo as well as a cute little touristy town with lots of shops, restaurants, hotels, Yal Ku lagoon which offers excellent snorkeling, and the beach at Akumal Bay is a super easy place to spot sea turtles.

When my time (sadly) was up he quickly restored the deposit back to me keeping in tune with his pattern of efficiency. Overall an excellent casa and great location I look forward to a return visit next year!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your excellent review of Casa del Sol. We are very happy to know you enjoyed your stay. We also think that Chan Chemuyil is located perfectly for a quiet and relaxing stay in Mexico. So close to everything but still far away from the busy resorts and towns. We still have not been to all of the wonderful cents in the area, but make it a goal to see them all soon.

Gracias!

This house is perfect if you like beaches, exploring jungles, peace and quiet, and village life. It was our second time stating in Chan Chemuyil, and this house surpassed our expectations. The house manager, Elena, and her husband Patricoi were there to help with anything at all that we needed. We felt exceptionally cared for, and made lifelong friends with them. If you're looking for a place in Chan Chemuyil, thus is as good as it gets!

We spent eight nights at Casa Del Sol. Everything was great, all we could ask for was there for us. Nice quite, safe neighborhood, comfortable bed, and alot of extras like beach towels, beach chairs, cooler for our picnic, and even the clothes line came in handy. The description of the Casa was accurate, it was very clean and well maintained. Jason, the owner was very helpful (and the driving instruction were right on the money!) The caretakers, next door, Patricio and Elena were the best, very helpful and eager to make sure we were having a good time. Akumal Beach was wonderful, snorkeled with turtles and rays, very awesome! Went to Coba to visit the ruins, one suggestion, if you plan to climb to the top of the ruins at Coba we would say to wear good tennis shoes, not sandals. (hot feet tend to slip!)
We are already planning our trip for next year, and hopefully we will be able to put Casa del Sol in our plans. Thanks Jason, we had a great time!

La Buena Vida!

My husband and I stayed here for 10 days in Feb/13. Easy to find with directions from owner. Very central location, but nice and secluded from the general tourist hub. House and all the necessary amenities….great beach chairs that stayed in the trunk of our car to be used whenever we found a great beach, which was every day. Having a car enabled getting off the beaten track and seeing more than you would without one. Had a problem with the bedroom light on arrival – was taken care of by Patricio and Helena (next door managers) right away. Got wifi password from Helena, but she needed help (not too tech savvy). Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa del Sol.
Recommended places:

Coba (1 hour from house by car, opens at 8am. Take a right at the first light you come to heading south. Get there early to avoid tours.
Also check out the cenotes in the town of Coba. The three cenotes near Coba are Tamcach-Ha, Choo-Ha and Multan-Ha – you can see all 3 or just one – we saw Tamcach-Ha and it was fantastic!

Akumal: pretty well guaranteed to snorkel/swim with the turtles at the main beach. Best spot to eat/drink – La Buena Vida located on road north to Half Moon Bay (small road before entrance to main beach). Happy hour from 5 – 7.

Tulum ruins: (15 mins) again, get there early….8am.

Nearest supermarket: Tulum – take a left at the first light you come to heading south…you’ll see it on the left. It’s called Chedraui.

Playa del Carmen: best place for shopping. Good restaurant: La Pesca (30 ave near Av. Constituyentes, across from Mega supermarket) not in the tourist area.

Punta Allen: take the hotel road (coast)in Tulum (left at first light) then head south. You drive through the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve (small entrance fee). It’s only 55 km from Tulum, but the road is very rough so it takes a couple of hours to get there. There’s a beautiful secluded beach just past the bridge – park wherever you can find a spot off the side of the road. No amenities at all along the road – take food and water, chairs, etc. Punta Allen is a neat little place to check out.
