About Linda

We relocated from California over 30 years ago, and love New York, especially the Upper West Side. The park is our backyard. We picnic, run, bike, play tennis, attend free concerts, and shows. Winters in our 'backyard' offen allows us to sled, ski, and skate.

We love dining, and are so fortunate to have every type of cuisine and ethnicity within walking distance from our home.

Travels away from home take to exotic locations to explore, and play. Scuba diving is one of many passions, as well as skiing, and Yankees Baseball.

Linda purchased this apartment in 1994

What makes this apartment unique

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Linda,

I stayed at your vacation rental apartment for three days the second week in May, and have been meaning to e-mail you to say thank you. Sorry this is a belated thank you, but it's been crazy-busy here.

The apartment was absolutely immaculate and lovely, better than I could have imagined. I was impressed at how thoughtfully you had stocked the fridge and supplied all sorts of toilettries in the bathroom. And I loved having that wonderful big bathtub to soak in the day that I walked from W 83rd all the way down to 21st Street and back again! The neighbourhood was great - so conveniently located -- and I always felt safe, even when walking home from supper at the nearby restaurants in the evening after dark.

I've kept your contact info to give to any friends who might be wanting to visit your wonderful city, and if I'm lucky enough to be able to return to NYC, I will definitely be contacting you again to stay at your apartment.

Thanks again for making my days on my own in NYC safe and comfortable.

Very best regards,

RTF

NYC Getaway

A great location 1/2 block from Central Park, 2 blocks from the subway, and literally steps from all the restaurants you could want. Linda met us upon arrival and was very accommodating, even going out of her way to help us get back some clothes we left by accident after we left. A perfect place if you want to experience Upper West Side living.

Fantastic Stay in New York

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this delightful studio suite in Upper West Manhattan just steps from Central Park and only a block from the Subway station at the Museum of Natural History. It was a great location that allowed us easy access to all of New York City.

Steve and Linda were more than accommodating to our needs and always available to help when we had questions. The studio is extemely well-equipped from snacks and coffee to umbrellas and toilletries. Like in many older brick buildings, the wifi was spotty but there were lots of nearby places with free wifi.

The location couldn't be better. We had so many different restaurants to chose from that we ate all our dinners in the neighborhood. The Wine Shop on the corner and nearby grocery stores were a bonus.

This will definitely be our "go-to" place in NYC. Thanks Linda and Steve

Outstanding place in the city

  • 5 of 5

Without a doubt, this is the best place to stay for a NY vacation. Quiet neighborhood, excellent accommodations-it was everything we needed after a long day exploring the city, convenient to the train, and a fantastic neighborhood for dining out. Linda's hospitality is unmatched. I will recommend this to anyone I know who is traveling to the city and we will definitely be back!

Cozy apartment for one or two

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is in a wonderful neighborhood and is very conveniently located on the first floor of the building. The neighborhood is very safe and there are so many really good restaurants and shops within close walking distance. The subway stop, the Museum of Natural History and Central Park are just a block away. The apartment has a well stocked kitchen for travelers who prefer to cook their own meals. The Murphy bed was comfortable and the apartment is very quiet. I was not disturbed by street noise. I would definitely stay again on my next trip to NY. Thanks Linda, for the great accommodations.

returning occupant

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I always enjoy staying in this studio apartment. Steve and Linda are extremely accommodating, whether one needs directions, show reviews, or simply a cooking utensil. The location is perfect for Central Park relaxation or exercise; easy access to subway; superb farmers market just a few blocks away; and in general just a great neighborhood. We look forward to our visit again next year.
