My wife and I live in Incline Village Nevada, and make it to Pacific Tides in Carmel-by-the-Sea several times a year. We love the home, and decorate and maintain it very nice since we spend quite a bit of time there ourselves.
Jeff Smith purchased this house in 2006
What better place is there than Carmel-by-the-Sea? We absolutely love it! Carmel-by-the-Sea is an incredibly peaceful place, that offers world class beaches, shopping, dining and art galleries. It is also within 15 minutes of world class golfing like Pebble Beach, and all the activities in the Monterey pennisula like the Monterey Bay Acquarium.
We enjoy driving to Carmel-by-the-Sea and then not driving again until we leave. It is easy to walk to town or to the beach, and this Village in the Forest is an amazing place to spend some time.
I have been meaning to write. We absolutely LOVED the house - it was just perfect for us. We have thought about making it an annual family trip after having such an amazing time - the house was so roomy and comfortable - made us all feel at home. Thanks so much for sharing your home!
Will be in touch about renting again in the future.
Four of my girlfriends and I just spent three wonderful nights at Pacific Tides. The house was truly amazing - it had the cozy Carmel/beach feel, was very well furnished, had all the comforts of home, the kitchen was fully loaded and the beds (including linens) were very comfortable! The location was very good - just a brief walk to the downtown area.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week stay at Pacific Tides in May 2014. We wanted a large house to accommodate our daughters and son-in-laws, plus room for entertaining our relatives who live in the Monterey area as we celebrated my husband's 60th birthday.
The house was beautifully and comfortably appointed, and we had everything we needed and more! The beds and linens were very comfortable, and the kitchen was completely stocked with every gadget and appliance imaginable. The gardens (front and backyard) were stunningly beautiful and obviously very well cared for.
The location of the house is very convenient to the shops and restaurants, and an easy walk to the beach.
We look forward to our next family reunion and staying at Pacific Tides again. Super fabulous vacation house!
My family and I really enjoyed our stay. The living room in extremely spacious. The kitchen has modern appliances. Since we stayed for a week the laundry room can in really handy. The beds were really comfortable. The neighborhood was very quiet. The street is busy but we couldn't hear the noise or should I say it didn't bother us. My two concerns were that I wish it would have a full sidewalk to the beach. We had to walk through a little bit of brush....or you can cross the busy where there is full sidewalk. On another note, I also wish the restrooms had locks on the doors. They have really nice crystal looking knobs....but I don't think they lock. The deck is amazing, we really enjoyed having breakfast on the deck, the backward is spacious enough for kids to run around. I would absolutely love to rent this home again.
Paciific Tides is a great rental for a family or group of couples wanting to experience Carmel. Easy walk to restaurants and sights.
I had a group of 9 women come to Carmel for a wine tasting day downtown. We stayed two nights and had a WONDERFUL time. The house is so comfortable and clean, and ideal for large groups. We stayed in one night and cooked and had a blast! The downtown is easily walkable and Monterey is a short cab ride. I would HIGHLY recommend this house to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Carmel.
The location of this property is perfect. Easy walk to town for both my children and elderly mother. Also had easy access to Hwy 1. Layout is perfect for extended families and there is plenty of room for everyone. Kitchen was well stocked as was laundry room. Beds were comfortable and views were beautiful from the upstairs bedroom.
My only suggestion: We drove up to dead flowers in the window boxes, dental floss in the flower bed, some of the wallpaper is tearing, and some of the bath towels were lightly stained. Picture in downstairs bath was torn. None of these things were deal breakers by any stretch, but Carmel is such a charming town and there are so many homes that are like cottages in a fairy tale. This home has that potential but it needs some attention to aesthetic details. Again, not deal breakers, but suggestions. We would definitely stay here again.
