The beautiful Moosehead Lake Region is known as the Gateway to the Great North Maine Woods. This back country area includes majestic mountains, lakes and ponds dotted with islands and indescribable natural scenery. Moosehead Lake is the largest lake in Maine; it is about 40 miles long and 20 miles wide. Moosehead has many inlets and bays; it is fed by scores of streams and smaller lakes. It's waters provide fishing enthusiasts with togue (lake trout), brook trout, and land locked salmon known for their fighting qualities. With numerous logging roads to explore, enthusiasts can spend many enjoyable hours spotting various species of wildlife in their natural habitat.

Having stayed in many different locations around the lake over many years, McIver's has one of the best spots on the lake. large lawn, protected marina, sandy beach, close to the protection of Moose River yet far removed from traffic of any kind. John and Brenda do a wonderful job ensuring you have everything needed for an enjoyable stay.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children
