About The Owner
Living in LA since 1990, when I moved there from my home state of Georgia to LA to produce TV commercials. I began buying houses in 1993, remodeling and flipping them, working my way up to this wonderful property. I bought this property in 2005, when it was a mess, and needed a full remodel. It looked like a run-down mountain cabin, and I decided to rebuild it into what it is now- as inspiration I took from modern resort design, like the work of Kelly Werstler, Phillipe Stark, etc.
The Owner purchased this estate in 2005
Why The Owner chose Beverly Hills
I wanted to experience the iconic California dream house in Beverly Hills. A huge private bold modern architectural compound, with pool and guest house and views. It's a true 'dream house'.
It's located just off Mulholland Drive in a legendary area where James Dean raced cars, Samual Goldwyn played tennis, Eddie Van Halen can still be heard playing his guitar, Jack Nicholson can be seen leaving in his limo an hour before Lakers games, and other celebs have lived for decades because it's the best living in LA. It's quiet and private and in the hills, yet just minutes away from everything in Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Downtown, the Valley, and the beach.
This house has a story, and it has been suggested that I write a book about it. The story is that it is located in a legendary area of LA, where legends of Hollywood lived in years past and present live to get away from the city but still live within an easy drive. The house for me was a personal achievement, representing the attainment of the American dream, owning the proverbial dream house in the hills of LA, not just any hills, Beverly Hills! 'Swimming pools, movie stars', just like the old TV show. I had an epic task to remodel the house, which is part of the story, along with many good times having owned it. I began to receive requests to rent it in 2007 - first for photo shoots, then events, then short rentals. By 2009 I was getting asked for short vacation rentals back-to back, so I decided to make it available full time for rentals, due to popular demand.
What makes this estate unique
First, there's a 'Wow factor' when you walk in. The sense that it's more fantastic than the pictures. More expansive, spread out over 3 levels built around the main level featuring the all glass indoor outdoor pool access. It's incredibly private and secluded. It has just about everything you need. The heated pool is amazing, it makes you feel like you are on a tropical island, even if its the middle of the winter. The spa is huge and the jets are powerful. The furniture is very cool and there's a lot of it, including modern classics by Eames, Saarinen, Mies Van de Rough, Graves, Frank Gehry, Ligne Roset, Modern Living, Paola Lenti, and many others.
The home features 6 bedrooms plus a loft that can be used as a 7th bedroom. There is an extra queen sized bed available.
Families are welcome. Kids always love this property, it is like a big playhouse to them. There are 2 cribs available plus a playpen on the property. There's a gate for the opening to the lower level.
There is a staff maid, maintenance man, pool man, and gardener who are on call should any problems arise. The owner can be reached at anytime to insure any concerns are handled immediately.
The experience of the guest is of paramount importance, so we take great efforts to prepare the house for your arrival. Maids clean the house before each guest arrives.
