Come enjoy New Orleans like a local in MidCity, a favorite NOLA neighborhood located in what was known in the 19th century as the “back of town.” Two blocks from the streetcars on Canal Street and Carrollton, this home is just ten minutes from the French Quarter, the Fairgrounds, Bayou St. John, City Park, the famous cemeteries of New Orleans, and more.
This beautiful house was flooded during Katrina, but has been lovingly restored by its owners, who wanted to help make New Orleans whole again after the devastation of the storm. Outfitted for comfort and serenity, it is a welcome respite after wild abandon at Mardi Gras or Jazz Fest, French Quarter Festival, the VooDoo Experience or Essence Festival, and just exploring all the magical wonders this unique city has to offer.
PRIVATE HOT TUB! Clothing is optional as you enjoy the cozy round hot tub in our totally private courtyard. Whip up a delicious cocktail and have a bubbly soak, surrounded by lush tropical greenery gracing our new large deck in the back yard. You can go from watching the 'river of life' flow by from the front porch that overlooks the lively streets of New Orleans, to enjoying complete outdoor privacy in our tropical paradise in the back yard. And as you move from the front porch to the back yard you'll walk through the graceful rooms of this lovely 100-year-old house decorated in a colorful, eclectic style that lets you know you are in the fabulous and funky city of New Orleans. Nothing generic, suburban, or run-of-the-mill in this house, that's for sure!
When you're ready for some socializin', step around the corner to Finn McCool’s and have a beer, talk to the locals, meet some new people ... New Orleans folks are friendly! In the cool of the evening stroll over to Angelo Brocato’s on Carrollton Ave and delight in their wondrous pastries and Italian ice or gelato. Host a Sugar Bowl party in front of our 42' HD flat screen TV, then dance the night away to the Zydeco music at the Rock-N-Bowl, truly a NOLA experience. Or catch the streetcar on Canal and step right out onto Bourbon, Decatur or Frenchman Street for a night of festivities. For those in the know, Frenchman Street (in the Marigny) is the place to be for great live music. But MidCity has its share of live music going on every weekend too ... Banks St Bar & Grill, Chickie Wah Wah's (on Canal), and others.
Restaurants abound in MidCity and many are within an easy walk of three or four blocks.
