Gem of a find--cozy retreat near everything!

5 of 5
Submitted: February 20, 2013 Stayed: December 2012
I heartily recommend Annita’s Casita for anyone who wants a truly restful, beautiful respite from the world while visiting Tucson. The home’s décor captures the look and feel of the Arizona desert, with a fanciful cactus light above the dining room table and bathroom sinks with beautiful, colored painted tiles. The place feels cozy, but actually is quite spacious, with two bedrooms with lots of storage space. The owners created a helpful booklet to introduce visitors to Tucson, and have multiple Tucson area guidebooks throughout the house. The kitchen has plenty of silverware, bowls, plates and cooking pans and utensils should you decide, as I did, to cook and entertain during your stay. We enjoyed the large screen high definition cable TV with many channels, and made good use of the washer and dryer. The house has great views of the mountains from the kitchen and a sweet patio that overlooks a private backyard of cacti. While you have the feeling that you’re far away from everything, Starbucks, a local high- end supermarket, and a mall are minutes away. I definitely plan on coming back here again when I return to Tucson.

A gem on the desert

We were impressed before we arrived. Annita was so attentive to our emails with very quick responses to our inquiries and easy booking process. She also greeted us warmly upon our arrival. We were hooked from the moment we walked through the gate and knew we would have a fabulous month at this casita. The location was perfect for our needs with good hiking nearby, shopping, restaurants and a lovely patio to enjoy at the end of each day. The home is beautifully cared for with many lovely works of art, books, area information and attention to so many details far beyond mentioning in this small space. We hiked in all of the 4 mountain ranges surrounding Tucson along with visiting the many places of interest. There is so much to do; we will be returning to Tucson next year. We would recommend this casita to friends and family. It is the best among the many homes we have rented. Truly a "gem" in a city that hosts the International Gem Show. Idylic Retreat

Submitted: December 21, 2012 Stayed: November 2012
Firstly I want to thank Annita for being such a wonderful host, she made the booking pain free from start to finish. The casita was everything we expected and more, it felt completely secluded and it was such a tranquil and beautiful hideaway. You will fall in love with this gorgeous house, as we did, and its situation close to local shops and good restaurants is a plus point when you don't know your way around a city as large as Tucson. I missed the bed within a day of departing as it had been so comfortable and the amenities to hand were like being at home, you want for nothing. The outside terrace was wonderful during the afternoon with the warmth of the sun and watching and listening to the birds that visited was a pleasure. The casita is trully a home from home (even if our home was over the pond!). We were very sad to leave and will definitely be looking to come back at some later date as we fell in love with Tucson and its people.

Great Visit to Tucson and surrounding area

5 of 5
Submitted: September 6, 2012 Stayed: August 2012
We visited Tucson with a German couple that was visiting us. It was a dream come true for them as they so much like to spend time in the sun. The pool was private, clean, with a great view of the Catalina Mountain Range. The home, a 2-bedroom, 2-bath condo was clean, well appointed with everything a traveler would want, all the comforts of home. We stayed a week, visiting Tombstone, the Desert Museum, University of Arizona, and both districts of the Saguaro National Park, with lots of shopping and sun time. One could easily stay longer and the next time we will. Donn and Annita were very accommodating, meeting us at the unit when we arrived and checking us out on the day of departure. This is a 5-star location all the way!

Annita's Casita--a retreat not to miss

Annita's Casita--a retreat not to miss
Submitted: June 14, 2012 Stayed: April 2012
If you are looking for a charming, quiet well equipped getaway, very convenient to great restaurants and shopping in the foothills of Tucson, this is the Casita for you. The owners are wonderful and are available for any needs you may have. Sitting on the patio and listening and watching the wildlife is a special amenity. I loved my stay and the only thing I didn't like was having to go home too soon.
