This fully air conditioned beautiful ocean front corner unit is less than 30 feet from the waters edge. Enjoy spectacular sunsets from your large lanai, watch the surfers, para-sailers, boogie boarders, playful dolphins, turtles, whales and passing cruise ships.

Fall asleep to the sound of the ocean. Every room has a beautiful view of the ocean and beach.

The resort is just a short walk to town for dining, shopping and the farmers market for vegetables, fruit, flowers and souvenirs.

My wife and I live in Los Angeles. About 17 years ago we fell in love with Kona. We purchased our condo in 2001 and spend as much time there as possible. It really is our home away from home and we enjoy sharing it with others. The location is great.

Location, location, location - and what a view

This condo is so wonderfully located, first with it's short walk to all the restaurants and shops in Kailua Village (Kailua-Kona) but more so with its private corner on the top floor of the building and 180 degree (plus) view. You will enjoy watching the body-boarders and surfers right on your doorstep. Sunset's are spectacular. The pictures represent the property quite well so there were no surprises.

Most importantly, dealing with Jim was a true pleasure. We have never rented from such a responsive and honest person who truly wants the best for his guests. Due to a grave illness in the family, only a week prior to our trip we cancelled our reservation, not thinking we would be able to come, and hoping that during Spring Break there would be another taker. Jim was unbelievably accommodating of our situation. Luckily, we were able to come several days later and enjoy his condo for 8 of the original 12 nights. We would highly recommend dealing with Jim to anyone considering staying at the Kona Reef.

6 weeks in paradise

Perfect location for a big island vacation. Walking distance to town(we are seniors), great views from the lanai. Watch whales, dolphin, swimmers, surfers, parasailing, boaters, all while sitting in a comfi chair with a drink. What's not to like? And nothing on the island is more than a 2 hour drive away. Go to Hilo(nice little zoo), the volcano, take the island bus tour(all day), or our personal fav, just relax on the lanai or at the pool. Doesn't get any better.

Fantastic condo at Kona Reef!

Wow...where to start? Oceanfront location is great - from the lanai we watched turtles swim in to sun themselves each day, schools of yellow tang swimming among the lava rocks, & beautiful sunsets. A bonus is the sandy beach & picnic area (see photos from the lanai & kitchen window) - not too common on the Big Island in our experience. The pool area was quiet and well-maintained. From Kona Reef it is just minutes to walk into town with plenty of options for dining & shopping.

As for the condo itself, it was superb. The top floor corner location is quite private. The unit was very clean, and comfortable for our family of four (2 teens). A/C was another bonus, as the temperature topped 90 degrees on several days during our visit (don't assume your condo will have this; ours on Maui did not). The description & photos are accurate, but I'd have to say it's better than advertised; another reviewer said they don't do it justice - I agree.

What really set staying at this condo apart were its owners, Jim & Nancy. Great folks! From the time we inquired about its availability (on short notice), we were in contact with Jim. He did everything to make the experience go as smoothly as possible via conversations and email exchanges prior to our trip, sending a very helpful packet of maps, recommended activities & restaurants...even sending an email just before we arrived (from Maui) reminding us to let him know if we needed anything. It was like staying at the property of an old friend.

One last point: I inadvertently left my watch on the dresser when we checked out. Upon our return home, Jim had already emailed that Housekeeping had notified him they had it and would send it back...which they did. What a pleasure to deal with such honest people.

Fabulous Kona Reef Condo Right On The Beach

Our arrival date was the same as not one but, two hurricanes. We really lucked out the rain was minimal and the winds about the same. Staying on the Kona side we were protected by the mountains. Jim and Nancy's condo was the perfect place to be. The ocean really was stirred up at times but watching the surfer's from the lanai was like our own private show. It was so nice having all amenities that was provided I felt like it was our own home ( and yes we could live there). Jim was so helpful with all instructions, places to go to eat and beaches to snorkle. I have been to Kona several times but, it was fun going by Jim's list.

I would totally recommend this beautiful condo not only for the view but, for how well it is maintained and how close it is to Kailua town.

Absolutely Fabulous!!

This condo is sensational. The view of the boogie boarders and surfers on the waves from the lanai made it difficult to leave the place every day. When we could finally peel ourselves away, we had no problem finding great things to do for the whole family, because Jim sent us so much great information about restaurants, activities, beaches, and everything else! You can walk to a luau at the resort next door, or walk another couple hundred yards right into Kona Town where you can eat, shop and just people watch.

The unit itself had plenty of space for our family, and the saltwater pool and BBQ area were fantastic. With the full kitchen in the unit, we had at least half of our meals in, which put some money our pockets for other activities.

When we return to the big island, we won't even be looking at another place!

Loved this condo - the views are terrific and the unit is in great shape and very reasonably priced. The owner was extremely helpful as we were in town to look at properties to purchase ourselves, and he was a wealth of information. Since the unit is very close to town, many mornings we walked in to have breakfast or to do some shopping. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
