Bolton Landing: If you like Spas or fine dining, you can walk to the Sagamore Hotel. The town of Bolton Landing is about 1 mile from end to end on Route 9. Our house is located at the Northern end of the town, right near the Sagamore hotel, the Bolton Landing public beach and the Grand Union Shopping center. Bolton Landing is located at the widest part of Lake George, just south of where the islands begin at the Narrows. There are many places to rent boats or to launch and dock your own boat or jet ski. At night, you can find the best restaurants such as the Algonquin or the Sagamore on the lake walking distance away. After dinner, there are candy and ice cream shops that you can walk to with the kids. After the kids go to sleep, you can walk to one of the many lakeside bars with live bands. Bolton is the ultimate getaway location and our house couldn't be in a better place. It's close enough to walk to anything and it's quiet enough to escape it all. Bring your bike and cruise the town.
The Sagamore: The Sagamore Hotel is one of the nicest spas in the Northeast and it's located a short beautiful walk from the house. While I'm out sailing with the kids, my wife loves to get pampered at the Sagamore. They are a full spa located on the most picturesque piece of land on Lake George. Please note that the Sagamore as well as many restaurants and stores in Bolton Landing close down for the winter time.
Veteran's Memorial Park Beach: About half a block south of the house on Route 9N (Main Street / Lakeshore Drive), you will find Veteran's Memorial Park in Bolton Landing where there is also a public beach. Visitors can swim from 7:00 am - 10:00 pm and must pay $5 for parking. Because you can walk there, there is no charge for you and your family and friends to visit and stay on this beautiful beach. There is also enough dock space at the beach for a bunch of boats to use at no charge, should you want to rent a boat and drive home for lunch. They have a volleyball net on the beach and a full court basketball court that are free to use. Additionally if you bring a canoe or kayak, there is a free location to store and launch your boat for the day at the end of the beach.

I grew up on Long Island and moved Upstate NY to the Capital Region in the 90s. Although I missed the LI Sound and Jones Beach, I soon fell in love with Lake George.
When my kids got older, I bought a sailboat and kept it in the town of Bolton Landing. I fell in love with the town and bought this house a few years later because it was walking distance to everything that Bolton Landing had to offer.
My house isn't very big, but it comfortably sleeps and entertains large groups very comfortably. It's walking distance to everything, yet when you sit in the back yard and listen to the river flowing past you, you feel like you're in the middle of the forest.
