Great Family Vacation!

We have rented several homes for our yearly multi-generational family summer vacation, and this was by far the best! The house had a fully equipped kitchen complete with spices, garbage bags, and paper towels. The dining table was massive and seated all ten of us comfortably. There was a nice large grill that we used to cook several meals and the backyard fire pit was great for “smores” as a nighttime snack. The small upstairs deck was a pleasant spot for morning coffee. Beach toys and board games were provided too.
The house had plenty of room for ten of us - six adults and four children ages four to fourteen. The large upstairs bedroom had a closet and a big dresser. The 3 smaller bedrooms downstairs had closets but would have been a little more comfortable if there were dressers for unpacked clothing. The open “den” area upstairs with a futon and couches was a great spot for the kids to gather around their own tv or have space to run around a bit.
Veteran’s Memorial Park and Beach is just a short block down the hill from the house, so it was very convenient. The house rental included the use of two kayaks and we had a great time taking turns using them here.
We enjoyed the comfortable Adirondack chairs in the back of the house where you can sit and hear the creek running below. There is no backyard space for running around and there is a pretty steep drop-off, so this might be a concern for some families with toddlers.
Bolton Landing is a nice small town that you can easily walk to from the house. It’s a short drive into Lake George Village to tour Fort William Henry and for miniature golf, arcades, lots of shops and many restaurants. Going north from the house it’s a direct route to Fort Ticonderoga and Natural Stone Bridge and Caves, both of which we enjoyed.
This was a wonderful rental house perfectly located for the beach as well as day trips. Our family had a great time and certainly recommend it to other families. Thank you, Brian, for sharing your lovely home!
