Robin Hurlbatt purchased this apartment in 2009
We love living in the Hampton Court area with its easy access to London and we think
its a great base for an interesting and varied holiday
Some of the benefits of the property are easy access to London, riverside walks, fantastic local history with Hampton Court Palace on the doorstep,
great local shopping, restaurants, walks by the Thames or the Royal Parks. The flat has been the subject of a total makeover and has views of the river from the balcony.
The apartment is ideally situated for those that want to explore the surrounding area or travel into central London. Robin was there to meet us and show us around and said that we could contact him at any time if needed. It's an easy walk to Hampton Court station, stopping off on the way for a lovely early morning coffee at one of the great cafés in East Molesey. The accommodation is first class - spotlessly clean with everything you could wish for whilst staying. The added benefit of having a Tesco supermarket on the doorstep is wonderful as we live in an area where the nearest supermarket is 6 miles away! Would wholeheartedly recommend this apartment for it's location and quality.
We used to live in East Molesey and were looking for a "home away from home" where we could at least to some degree simulate our lives there, among friends and familiar places. This flat is absolutely perfect. It is furnished in a modern, understated style ideal for adding any personal touches, excellent modern appliances, everything one needs for cooking, and even boasts foodstuffs left by previous tenants, establishing a kind of "pay it forward" atmosphere. Robin and Stephanie are lovely, relaxed, completely accommodating people, and their kindness also establishes a welcoming atmosphere. The location is perfect for enjoying the Thames, Kingston, Hampton Court, buses to Richmond, trains to Waterloo, and the antique shops, restaurants and pubs in town--especially the beautiful pub, the Weir, in nearby Sudbury. We cannot recommend this flat more highly and feel truly lucky to have found a place we will return to yearly.
We stayed 6 weeks from March 3 until April 13 then were back for four nights in May. We were met on arrival by the owner Robin. He was very helpful and personable. The fresh flowers were a nice touch. Robin has a binder full of helpful information placed in the apt. We had a problem with the iron and he promptly replaced it.
The apt was exactly as described, with very modern decor and appliances. The kitchen is very well equipped. The bed was very comfortable. The apt was very clean.
It is very conveniently located, with a Tesco store literally around the corner. The 461 bus stop located beside Tesco has 30 minute service. It was about 5 minutes to Hampton Court train station by bus and 15 minutes to Kingston. The trip by train from Hampton Court to Waterloo was about 35 minutes and the trains run every 30 minutes.
There is a great view of the Thames from the apt. and a path and park steps from the front door. It took me about 30 minutes to walk to Hampton Court along the Thames path.
My husband I travel full-time internationally. We use VRBO and Home Away most of the time, so we really appreciate an excellent property. The place is beautifully designed, has good equipment, is clean and well-kept and the location is just terrific. Waterloo station is a pleasant 25-minute train ride away, but living near Hampton Court Palace close to the River Thames is a special treat. It's country living with one of the world's greatest cities handy. We loved watching the traffic on the river and seeing the beautiful sunsets from our little balcony. Since it's on the top floor we found it extremely quiet and restful.
There is a huge market just steps away and secure underground parking, which is a bonus. The owner is extremely responsive and helpful.
We recommend this apartment to our own friends and family without reservation.
Just can't say enough about the hospitality and effort! We arrived when the roads were shut down for Olympic biking events- thankfully the owner was gracious to really help us navigate our way in. The place is well stocked and located in a really great corner of the London suburbs- felt completely safe walking at night with my 7 yr old. Super fun things to do right near by- and buses/train close, too. All appliances work fantastic- super clean -and place is just so easy. Hope we make it back some day.
Where do I begin? I had booked this flat for earlier this year and had to cancel for family reasons. I found myself on a last-minute trip to Ireland and was not enjoying it. I decided to contact Robin again and see if he had an opening for the flat, and he did (the only week available for weeks before and after). He met me at the Hampton Court station and drove me to the flat, and at the end of my stay, picked me up and drove me back to the station. I cannot say enough about how kind he is. The flat is exactly as described, really lovely and very convenient. Right next door to Tesco, post office and bus stop. It is so quiet - unlike any flat or hotel room you would have in London. You can walk along the Thames river path to the train station, which was wonderful, especially with the British Olympic rowing team practicing and all the waterbirds. Kingston is just 35 minutes from central London without any train changes. Hampton Court is a 30 minute walk. I had a lovely time and would recommend this flat to anyone.
