Dear Jerry and Jeri,
Great memories were made this weekend! THANK YOU! so very much! Came for the Bison FB game and went home Champions!! Your hospitality was super. Your cabins were so very comfy, roomy and relaxing. Everything was truly perfect! This was our first visit to TX and you'll be highly spoken of in North Dakota! Thanks again!
My wife and I had an extended stay at this location and had a great time. The area has wonderful neighbors, great location for lake activities and still close to everything you might want to go see. The accommodations were very nice and clean with a wonderful waterfront view. I think one of the outstanding features was how safe and welcoming this neighborhood is. If your looking for a quiet, quaint place to vacation this is it. We loved it.
This is a MODEST cabin in a MODEST neighborhood. If you are wanting a luxurious accommodation, this is not the place. The structure definitely shows wear and tear. That being said, the view is outstanding. The cabin is comfortable. The beds are nice, the linens are great, the kitchen is well appointed. The spiral staircase is a challenge but we were expecting that. WE had a great visit and enjoyed Mia and Maggie!
The waterfront sunrises and sunsets reminded me that I need to take time out more often. We picked this cottage for proximity to children and grandchildren. They enjoyed coming to the lake to visit. The only disappointment was a state wide situation of lakes lacking water. Jeri et al were super hosts. Thanks for great memories.
We also experienced lightening which we seldom get in CA
Had the most wonderful time at this beautiful place. Located on a private peninsula which made it secluded enough for calm water conditions. Jerry was very helpful and was able to clue us in on things we may have known otherwise. Will be back 100%
We stayed Easter weekend in order to be close to my son in Plano. I hesitate writing this review, as the owners seem very nice and made an effort to be accommodating. I'm not usually one to complain, but I was very disappointed upon arriving. There is a reason there are no pictures of the exterior of the home. Home is difficult to find, and I would have to agree with the review about the "sketchy" neighborhood. Although the people were nice, and we did not feel unsafe, it is a very rundown, older neighborhood with homes much closer together than you would think when looking at the photos. I know everything is relative, but we have stayed in a number of homes with HomeAway, and this did not meet the standards we have come to expect. The owners have stated that they plan a remodel of the kitchen, and I hope for future guests that is forthcoming. I was greeted by a number of "stray" or at least free and unleashed dogs which made getting my dog into the home difficult and made taking him potty difficult as well. They did try to be accommodating during our stay and have the neighbors keep their dogs in. Pictures are somewhat deceiving. There is no way to get to the porch shown without going through the front and then walking around to the back. Unfortunately the. home is in disrepair - doors that wont open at all, bathroom door handle that is strictly for show, showerhead that falls off (we fixed it), fans that wobble greatly and make considerable noise. The kitchen is not well stocked, and made preparing an Easter dinner difficult. They need to invest in a few things that we normally find at a rental home. Kitchen also in disrepair - cabinets, counters, floors in bad shape. Not what I would expect, especially at the price they are charging. I have come to expect a great deal more for the price being asked for this property. On the bright side, the couch (not the same one that is in the photo) is VERY comfy, and the television is awesome,
This is our second time staying at the lake house and it has been a wonderful experience. The house is always very clean and comfortable and the owners are friendly and accommodating. Perfect for a weekend getaway and we would happily stay there again.
