The Ballard Bungalow is near the fishermen's terminal and located in one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in all of Seattle. It is located very close to the Burke Gilman Bike Trail and right along the Seattle Metro's Route 28. It's within easy walking distance to the zoo and a five minute walk to Fremont's shopping district and Ship Canal. Several coffee shops, Fred Meyer and Trader Joe's are all very near. It's an approximate 20 minute drive from SeaTac Airport, 10 minutes to downtown Seattle and 10 minutes from The University of Washington campus. Its location makes the bungalow a great option for people with or without a vehicle.
The bungalow is an urban retreat in the heart of Seattle. Its located on a large lot that feels comfortable, and the bungalow itself has been completely remodeled. The friendly neighborhood and great neighbors will make you feel right at home, and the great southeast exposure provides plenty of sunshine.
My husband and I stayed here while visiting family and thoroughly enjoyed the house. The main floor has too many cozy touches to mention them all...the view is wonderful, the layout is lovely, parking is easy. The only slight issue for us was we assumed the king bed would be in the bedroom and the queen would be in the loft area, but that was not the case. Regardless, the queen bed in the bedroom was comfortable and we slept well. To reach the loft area there is a ladder leading to a low ceilinged sleeping area and there are no railings on the side of the loft open to the downstairs. Just an FYI, for whoever plans to use that space. I would definitely stay here again!
The deck at sunset as well as for morning coffee was wonderful. We loved watching all the birds and even some hummingbirds in October! Great neighborhood to walk around. Appreciated the well supplied kitchen and the sound system.
The bungalow was a perfect oasis while catching all that Seattle has to offer in the summer! Cool beverages on the deck overlooking the canal before heading out for the evening was the best!
My husband, baby and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Baker Avenue house. We enjoyed several lovely sunsets from the great deck and made great meals in the fantastic kitchen. The house is wonderfully located between Fremont and Ballard - two of our favorite neighborhoods in Seattle, both with some of the city's best restaurants and not far from Golden Gardens - a fantastic park. Would highly recommend this rental.
The house had everything I needed except a blender and I brought that with me with a few kitchen tools I was afraid wouldn't be there. They had wonderful knives and everything else I needed but a rubber spatula and I brought that, too. Comfortable, great location, marvelous landlords, and truly a home away from home.
We stayed in this house over Christmas 2013 and could not have been more happy! The location was perfect, easy to get to and on a quiet street. The house is adorable, very clean and well appointed. But the best part was how cozy it was! Whether snuggling by the stove, on the sofa watching television, or in the comfy bed, it was so "homey" we felt we could have stayed forever. Most definitely hope to stay here again during future trips to Seattle!
