tranquility and beauty.
We had a wonderful stay at your lovely lake house. We swam in the lake almost everyday. My stepson brought his kayak he took me out on it. He and his wife left on the kayak one evening at sunset and came back by moonlight. They said it was magical. We visited Longhorn Cavern and also took a scenic drive to Fredericksburg. One afternoon we went to The Slab. That was so much fun. We had perfect weather everyday.....well it was a bit hot but had no rain. We totally enjoyed the deck and looking out over the lake. What a fabulous view. I also loved the bedroom with the picture windows. What a view to wake up to. As you can tell, we had a great time. We would love to visit again. Thank you for sharing your lake house.
We had such a lovely visit! The home had everything we needed. Lots of room for everyone to have their own bedroom, yet so cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed the amazing view from the beautiful room on the back with all the windows, as well as from the spacious deck. We would definitely visit again. Patti and Bill were very easy to work with, very friendly and available. Thanks!
I Travelled with my husband, two small children and dog here in April 2014. The location is ideal, I could have sat on the deck looking out on the water all day. Pictures do not do home justice. It is the cutest country chic type home with plenty of space. Even our dog had a great time. My husband was able to put in his kayak and go fishing right out the back yard. The home has all essentials. There was even toys that are children enjoyed and movies to watch. Kitchen well appointed. Loved the back bedroom; full of windows with a beautiful view. We were able to use a paddle boat and enjoy the lake. Would love to return in the future.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our short weekend at your home, including cooking out and boating/tubing in Lake LBJ. Very comfortable, homey feel, well maintained inside & outside, very clean and serviceable with everything you could possibly need to feel at home.
Internet was a little spotty when we were there. Otherwise everything was excellent.
Owner was very responsive and we would definitely recommend to friends and relatives.
We had such a great time & absolutely loved the view. We all spent so much time fishing off our deck. We are already talking about going back soon!
Although some may expect "Hilton" amenities when they rent an older lake house, as a previous reviewer mentioned. But it will take a rational person less than 5 minutes to read the other reviews and research the property prior to "renting" it, to know it thankfully...it IS NOT a Hilton. If your looking for a great location, owner who cares about your stay, cold AC, hot water, comfortable living and dining areas...this lake house is it. Added bonus, no wake zone cove, a dock that easily made coming and going on my 24' ski-boat a breeze. Yes, the house itself could use a little bit of "upgrading", but also keep this in mind...we had no bugs, spiders, or other "pests" inside the home. The grounds were in immaculate shape and you'll enjoy the shade in the Summer time. Our family was at this property from 6/30 to 7/5 and never had any issues with the internet connectivity...in fact, we checked the bandwith and per speedtest.com was getting between 7-8 MBs (download)...even with both rental houses completely full. If connectivity was ever an issue, a simple walk-over to the next house or call to Bill (the owner of both properties) would have negated that issue. Lilke the title states...we would definitely stay here again, which if your reading this review is all you really want to know.
The owners are super nice people and the location is great. Bottom line we had a great time. However the house, while fairly clean, is ready for a renovation (old furniture, leaky roof, slow plumbing drains, needs paint, etc). In general, it's an old lake house. The accommodations are more "budget motel" not "The Hilton". Finally, Wi-Fi is shared with the neighboring house and has a limit to the number of connections. With a full house of smart phones, tablets, and laptops next door we could never even get on until they left.
During spring from the mid-March through most of June the Highland Lakes area turns into a virtual paradise with the fields of wildflowers. First, the Bluebonnets bloom, and they are quickly joined by the red Indian Paintbrush flowers for beautiful fields of red and blue. As these flowers start to fade the fields are taken over by other red, yellow and white flowers. You have to see them to really appreciate how beautiful these fields of flowers are.
