Make yourself at home at our typically Parisian apartment on rue Caulaincourt, one of the loveliest, tree-lined streets in Montmartre.
This spacious apartment (100 square meters - 1076 square feet) is perfectly suited for families and groups, with three separate bedrooms, a large bathroom with a shower/bath combo, and a separate WC (toilet room). Two large bedrooms have queen-sized beds and built-in custom closets, while the third bedroom has two twin beds and a large armoire. All bedrooms are located off a hallway and insure privacy and comfort for all guests.
The living room area is huge, with a large dining table and buffet one one side and a comfortable salon area for relaxing. Street views from the windows are perfectly Parisian - pull up a chair and watch the world go by!
If you need to work, no worries! You'll be connected with WiFi Internet access and also have free calls to landlines in most countries from the apartment telephone including the US, Canada and Australia.
The architecture along rue Caulaincourt is irresistible, as are its boutiques, bistros and bakeries! We hope you'll find all you need for a welcoming and comfortable stay to Paris, while immersing yourself in the history of this delightful neighborhood. Your metro station is Lamarck-Caulaincourt on the 12 metro line and is less than a 5-minute walk from the apartment.
Sandra & Doug are the apartment owners, and Paula Caballero is the property manager.
The Owner purchased this apartment in 2004
We bought this property because it is in a charming neighborhood, and makes us feel like we're really a part of Paris life when we are there.
Easy access to all of Paris - lovely walks and terrific food markets (Amelie neighborhood), with a terrific bakery (featured in the movie 'Julie and Julia') right outside the front door!
Our stay at this lovely apartment in Montmartre was a reunion of three sisters and our mother. We hadn't seen each other for six years and the apartment provided such a comfortable and welcoming place to be together. It was stylish, comfortable, and very Parisian. The booking arrangements went easily and communication with frenchyrentals and the owner were helpful, quick and enjoyable. For Paris this is a very spacious apartment with all the amenities one could desire - even a separate laundry room. Wanting to spend much time together we usually ate dinner at home and the kitchen was well equipped and allowed us to cook some beautiful meals. Shopping for gorgeous fruit, vegetables, wines, cheese and other french delicacies was immediately adjacent with another street of traiteurs (where you buy delicious pates, pre-prepared foods, roasted chickens and roasts etc.) only a ten minute walk away. Also five minutes around the corner is a very authentic street lined with restaurants, cafes and bars. The boulangerie and patisserie immediately across from the building is irresistible. Fresh croissants and pain-au-chocolat fetched within a minute. The nice thing about the near and wider neighbourhood is that it has escaped the touristification of Paris like around Sacre Coeur, Pigalle, the Quartier Latin, the Champs-Elysees etc. This is still real Paris where real Parisians live. The property was very clean, had plenty of towels and other supplies and we loved the fact the well stocked food cupboard where staples like olive oil, vinegar etc. of previous guests were left to be used by the future users. It was nice to make use of these and add some of our own. Both bus and metro are minutes away and it's easy to get anywhere. Also the WIFI was great. Couldn't have wished for anything more.
This apartment was the absolute BEST. My band was touring through France and had 3 days off in Paris. We needed a spacious place to rest that was close to the sites. This apartment was perfect for all six of us! It was super clean, decorated so cute, and the manager and owners were so accommodating and easy to work with. Not only is the apartment a dream, the neighborhood has everything you could possibly need/want. Right below the apartment is a grocery store and a bakery, down the street is a butcher, a cheese shop, a chocolate shop, and so many cute cafes and great places to eat. It's very close to the Metro which makes it super easy to get around Paris.
I'm already planning our return! Highly recommended this place!
My family traveled to Paris this summer and we cannot say enough about the apartment, now affectionately referred to by my triplet girls as "our Paris home in the Montmartre." This charming and spacious apartment offered us everything we needed to fully enjoy our first family trip to Paris (and we'll definitely be returning for many future stays here). We easily walked to the eateries and quaint cafes nearby, and also explored the area of Montmartre (the Sacre Cour, the art, the views of the sparkling Eiffel Tower each night). We also traveled easily via the Metro (literally 5 minutes away from the apartment) to explore all of Paris (be sure to visit the Île Saint-Louis for Berthillion Ice Cream). We felt so at home, we spent several evenings at the apartment after many of our adventures -- it's really the perfect place to relax as well as entertain friends who were visiting Paris at the same time. The apartment was clean, well-appointed, and offers more than enough room for a family with pre-teen triplets and our teenage niece to feel right at home. Located across from a wonderful bakery, we thoroughly enjoyed tossing open the windows each morning to invite in the sweet smell of freshly baked pastries. The owners and the property manager definitely know Paris and also have given a lot of thought to what their guests might need while in Paris. This did not go unnoticed. They have a terrific selection of guide books as well as a welcome binder that provides great information (from local grocery shops to metro routes to best bike tours -- Fat Tire Versailles and Paris by Night are a must -- , and more). There are lots of comforts from home, as well, and the free calls to US land-line definitely a plus. I wish I could keep this place a secret -- but it's one that we wanted to share because everyone should have a chance to experience Paris as we did.
First, let me say that my family has traveled to Paris dozens of times and we always stay at self catering apartments. I feel like I can fairly rate this apartment.
The manager, Paula, is the single best manager I have ever dealt with. She is so organized and quick to respond to any concerns or questions. She meets you personally on arrival and continues to keep in touch during your stay. A+ to Paula!
The apartment looks exactly as advertised, if not better. It is a very large 3 bedroom, 1 bath. The bedrooms are large and have loads of closet and drawer space. There is a washer and tumble dryer... A total luxury in Paris. There is in fact a bakery and grocery store directly next door. While the convience of having a market outside the front door is nice for your grocery needs, there is a large drawback for this convenience.
Every morning, including weekends, the huge delivery trucks begin parking directly under the two front queen bedrtoms around 6-6:30 am. They begin unrolling the large metal doors of the trucks and unloading supplies. There was no possible way to sleep through this. We used a noisemaker , and closed the shutters, and still it was so very loud. It was irritating on mornings after a late night. This was vacation after all and we wanted to sleep in.
The noise was the only issue we had with the apartment. We just ended up getting early starts each morning.
I found the neighborhood quaint and lovely. The local cafés are all good and always busy. We found the metro close and easy to access. Don't miss the fact that there is an elevator at the metro... Especially if your traveling with a stroller. The never ending stairs will kill you.
Please let me express that this is a lovely and large vacation rental. We really enjoyed our stay. I'm just being completely upfront about the early morning noise.
If you want to live like Parisians for a week...or longer ;) this is the place. It is a beautiful easily accessible 3 bedroom, pleasantly decorated apartment in Montmartre. You are a 5 minute walk to Sacre Coeur and the artists district. We were in and out early in the morning and late at night and felt very safe. The busses and metro are just steps away to explore the city all around. We enjoyed fresh croissants EVERY morning from the bakery right next door. If you happen to choose not to venture far, everything you need is literally steps away...grocery, cafes, bakery, wine shops, chocolate shop, boutiques, etc. The caretaker is the absolute best; she is pleasant and extremely helpful and accessible. This was our first trip to Paris and we loved our apartment as opposed to staying in a hotel. There were 5 of us and we were very comfortable. We highly recommend this home away from home!!!
We loved everything about our stay. The apartment and location were perfect! We really felt like we were part of a neighborhood. Public transportation, cafés and a grocery store were all right there on our street. Couldn't have been happier. We'd love to rent again!
