Dauphin Island, Al is the i
My husband, daughter and family spent the week of Thanksgiving at this lovely home. The kitchen is spacious and has gorgeous views of the sound and extremely well equipped. The living room was comfortable, warm with the gas fireplace. The firepit hosted some s'more toastings. The boys (6 and 8) were enamored of the hammock. The storage room held tons of stuff from sand toys to an ice maker. It is only a short walk to the gulf side and even though I am 55 years old, I was almost giddy every time I saw dolphins there. The sand is beautiful- white and soft and no trash anywhere. It was not crowded at all. Thes house was extremely clean with more towels than anyone could use. Comfortable beds. When we got to the house, the whirlpool tub pump was running and we could not shut it off. I called the homeowners and Ed told me how to turn it off at the breaker box. A few hours later, a maintenance man came to check it out. He couldn't figure out how to fix it. Within a few minutes, Carol called me back. I assured her that we were not a bit concerned about the use of the tub. . She was so sweet and easy to work with through the entire process. I highly recommend this house and cannot wait to come back to Dauphin Island.
We stayed with 11 adults in this gorgeous house and were very comfortable. It was a girl's getaway from it all and it was perfect. We spent our days on the beach and hanging out on the deck. It couldn't have been more relaxing! This is a great place for families or adult getaways and the owner, Carol, is wonderful to work with. It was everything we hoped it would be and more! Thanks, Carol!
There were 11 of us girls all related by blood or marriage we had a great time very relaxing the house had everything and more anything we might have forgot was there. the house was beautiful and location was great no one was cramped everything about this place was comfortable and inviting , if your looking for a relaxing getaway this is it hands down, thanks carol!
Amid the cute, the quirky, and the quaint homes on Dauphin Island, you'll find The Survivor--the quintessential home for relaxation, recreation, reconnecting, and special occasions. We were fortunate enough to rent The Survivor to house a young bride's family and as the site of her dream Beach Wedding. We could not have found a more perfect place. The home is spacious, beautifully furnished, and includes many extras you won't find elsewhere. The back deck is a wonderful area for family gatherings and, for us, the ideal place for the informal wedding reception. The owners, Carol and Ed, were so gracious, kind and patient working with us to make sure the young bride and groom had their picture-perfect wedding.
If you are looking for the ultimate place for a vacation or a special event, The Survivor is it--where dreams come true.
We rented this house for a week in July and were very pleased! There ended up being 16 of us in the house, 6 adults and 10 kids ranging from 8-17, but we still had plenty of room. We brought 2 blow up mattresses, however there were some already there so it wasn't necessary. Anything you could possibly want or need was provided. The house is very spacious and open, so we never felt crowded when eating meals either. The decks are huge and have a lot of seating for relaxing and enjoying the views. Our children preferred the Gulf side over the Sound side for swimming, so we made a lot of trips across the street. Thankfully, the house also had awnings to set up on the beach for shade so we could stay all day but still get some relief from the sun. The biggest pain is pulling the wagon through the sand with all the beach stuff, but totally worth it. Both the kids and adults had a wonderful time! Thanks, Carol!
We chose this house for our family vacation. We had 7 adults and 5 children ages 9 months to 8 years old. The location was wonderful we could go across the street to the gulf side for bigger waves but the kids really enjoyed just playing in the water on the Mississippi Sound which was easily accessible from our back deck. They spent a lot of time catching hermit crabs which they truly enjoyed. We took one day and went to Gulf Shores via the Ferry stopped at Lulu's which had a lot for the kids to do plus they loved the ferry ride across the bay. We also took a day and went to Louisiana for a gator tour and then to New Orleans for dinner. The rest of the time was spent on the Island playing in the sand. We did visit Fort Gaines and the aquarium on the island which were both very enjoyable. We were able to build a bonfire on the beach and make smores. It was a wonderful vacation. I would highly recommend this house. It is furnished beautifully and has everything you need. Lots of beach toys, high chair, pack n play, games plenty of things to do. Thank you Carol we had a wonderful time!!!!!
