Our home has been a decorative collaboration between myself and my girlfriend, Rebecca Kyrouac, an interior designer and metal worker who has a successful interior design business here in Miami. Our house sits at the end of a cul-de-sac in the North Grove, 15 minutes from Miami Beach, and just south of downtown Miami on Biscayne Bay. You will rarely see a car here and yet you can walk 5 minutes to the MetroRail or the marinas along Biscayne Bay. This is a special place and our home means a lot to us. Guests under 25 years of age must be accompanied by an older adult. There is one large master bedroom with an outdoor shower and open bathroom, a second smaller bedroom with a guest bathroom and a smaller third bedroom that shares this second bathroom. The house could sleep six but two couples is really ideal. We have a huge screened-in porch that opens into the main living area. Exposed wood beamed ceilings and furniture from all over the world give our house a look and feel that is truly unique. We moved into this home in 2004 and began a dramatic renovation at that time. We have a monitored alarm system, Wi-Fi, Apple TV, and Smart Blu-Ray DVD player. We do not have cable television. A one week minimum stay is required. 3 weeks is about the maximum length of time we can accommodate guests and we only rent our home about 6 weeks a year. A $500 damage/security deposit is necessary in addition to the agreed upon rental fee, which includes all taxes and cleaning. This deposit is returned within one week of departure providing there are no damages.
Licensed Massage Therapist. My girlfriend, Rebecca, is a metal sculptor and interior designer. We have lived in Miami since 2001. Moved here from Boston where we lived for 10 years. I lived in New York City for 13 years, between 1977 and 1990. This is our second Coconut Grove home.
The Owner purchased this house in 2004
This is one of the nicest, quietest, friendliest neighborhoods in Miami. Full of lush vegetation and good people.
We can walk to the ocean. Our friends have a sailboat moored off of Dinner Key, a ten minute walk from our house. It's a 15 minute drive to Miami Beach. The Grove is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Miami and the convenience of getting around Miami from here is terrific.
My family included 2 teenagers and three adults and we all enjoyed this property for its uniqueness, easy accessibility to the places we came to visit and the quality of the furnishings and the well stocked and outfitted kitchen. We found it very easy to walk to restaurants close by as well as travel to South Beach ( we were glad to get back to the house from the congestion and people at South Beach) and down to Key Largo as well as many places in Coconut Grove.
Definitely a location we will visit again, owners are very professional to deal with and live up to their word
We stayed at 278039 between Christmas and New Year's and felt right at home! The aesthetics and of the home are quite unique and interesting, museum-like, and definitely prompted many conversations about where some of the pieces were found! The space is comfortable, easy to live in, and excellent for a family. We walked all over: to the marina, coconut grove shopping, Starbucks; and it was an easy drive downtown and to south beach. The owners were professional and helpful. We left something behind and they made no fuss about trekking to the UPS store to send it our way.
We love this property! Great space and lovely furnishings! The outdoor shower is fabulous. Perfect place for a family or a couple. Easy walk to town center or the water. The owners are easy to work with and are very helpful on local knowledge.
The property is very special with low noise neighborhood. Super unique outdoor shower which must be tried to be appreciated. Owners are professional and will help make your stay something to be remembered.
Our family had a wonderful experience staying in this home. Great location, lots of space, fabulous decor, everything was in great condition. The screened-in porch and outdoor shower were unexpected bonuses. We loved it all!
This place really is stunning. It's definitely funky and otherworldly, but we feel at home as soon we walk in. We're sure you will, too. There's something both fascinating and calming about the place, and that's why we keep coming back. The cabinets are handmade, as are most of the furnishings and the stuff on the walls, so you sense a real person behind all the personality of the house. It never feels hot because the stained concrete floors are so cool. Definitely do the outdoor shower. We wanted to try it just for the novelty, and initially I was sure we'd return to the normal shower in the second bathroom. We never did. Dinner out back, on the covered, screened porch, feels like both an extension of the living room and an island in the middle of the sea. It's tucked away from the noise and mess of Miami, and also 5-15 minutes from everything that is Miami. The pictures on VRBO are great and representative of the house, and the owners could upload dozens more and never capture the details that make this the best rental in Miami.
