Swim in our crystal clear water; relax on our sandy white beach; view our abundant wildlife; and participate in our limitless aquatic activities. We are DEALER’S DECK EAST in Emerald Isle. Enjoy a one half acre of mostly deserted beachfront at the base of our protective dunes and private walkway.
Location: Less than one half mile from the high rise bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway, DEALER’S DECK EAST is located on a dead-end street safe for children to play yet central to all Emerald Isle has to offer. As owners, we will arrange to greet you with the keys and make every effort to hasten your transition into vacation mode.
Facing south on our observation deck, the sun rise is spectacular as it spreads over the Bogue Inlet fishing pier and the evening sunset paints the crests of each wave a golden pink. The moonlit evening is dotted with the lights from our local shrimp fleet. Our ground level deck area serves as an escape from those constant rays, houses an enclosed shower with hot and cold running water as well as a safe area for the children to play in the sand surrounded by the high dunes. A picnic table, market umbrella, lounge chairs, and plenty of rocking chairs are readily available along with a hot/cold, open deck shower from the beach. A perfect perch to watch the families of dolphins cruise by, often taking time to frolic in the surf and the pelicans gliding inches above the water, swooping for their meal, and soaring into the sky.
Supplies: Just pack your bathing suits and personal needs! DEALER’S DECK EAST provides all of your linens (including beach towels), beach furniture (sand chairs, beach umbrella, toys, etc.), deck furniture (table, chairs, umbrella, charcoal park grill, etc.), a library (DVDs and many books), rainy day entertainment (games, puzzles, and toys for most all ages), infant items (high chair, feeding chair, portable crib), and Xbox 360 with Kinect for family fun. The beds are made awaiting your arrival and maid service is provided to simplify your departure. Call us before you pack that extra item.
Layout: Feel right at home in this tastefully decorated beach house. While our floor plan is open (Views, Views, and more Views!), DEALER’S DECK EAST easily accommodates two separate living quarters (TOP DECK and LOWER DECK) each with private entrances but connected via an interior stairway. The 1350 square feet of space on the two floors comprising the TOP DECK contain three bedrooms, two baths, a computer work station with wireless high-speed Internet connection, kitchen with adjacent laundry room and dining area along with wall to wall windows in our Great Room housing a 42” flat screen HDTV for family entertainment, bathing suit-friendly porcelain tile floor, and casual yet comfortable seating. Our large, open dining area has two tables - one seating ten and a glass table accommodating four plus a breakfast bar with an additional three seats. The main kitchen flows into the living space with granite countertops, built-in microwave, dishwasher, and everything you need at your fingertips with small appliances and utensils to make the meal of your choice.
Each bedroom is themed (Shell, Fish, Lighthouse) with a queen size bed and breathtaking views of the spectacular sun rise over the pier as it spreads over the horizon. There is abundant storage space for your bathing suits, shorts, etc. as well as a television with DVD player for your private viewing pleasure.
The remaining 900 square feet on the ground floor (LOWER DECK) can serve as a separate unit, a haven for the grandparents to spoil those special grandchildren, or your sibling with the newborn. We have a fully stocked kitchen seating four, family/game room, two bedrooms with queen beds, a large, full bathroom, and a half bathroom with a utility sink to clean your catch of the day (or your bathing suits). The multi-purpose room serves as a living room in the off-season and an entertainment room for those rare occasions where a sun shower interrupts a day in the sun. The new Xbox 360 with Kinect is set up for family entertainment. The bedrooms are fitted with their own television and a DVD player. The ocean-side entrance opens to a covered deck with an enclosed shower and steps up to the main walkway.
We have the place for you - swim in our emerald green waters; stroll or jog on our endless beach; search for shells, sand dollars and witness the birth of a turtle; body surf, ocean kayak, parasail, or wind surf all day long; build sand castles; watch the sandpiper feed without getting wet; prepare your favorite recipe with the fresh catch from the surf and shellfish (clams, oysters, crab, scallops, and shrimp) from the Sound; fly a kite; ride your bike on our award-winning bike path; visit our many amenities; or just RELAX with each wave lapping on the shore and your favorite book. There are no high-rises or crowds at our family vacation destination – just MEMORIES!

As natives of Massachusetts and New Jersey, we built our retirement “dream” home in Swansboro overlooking the White Oak River in 2005. Our daughter currently resides in Georgia and son in Rhode Island – each with two grandchildren. We spent many decades in the fields of information technology, logistics and nursing in a variety of locations throughout this fine country serving the chemical, entertainment, medical, and service industries. Today we run a small business catering to a few properties in Emerald Isle with out-of-state owners and serving as their surrogate to ensure the property is handled to their expectations. We are developing a program to reward DEALER’S DECK EAST guests that truly enjoyed their vacation stay and express an interest in future reservations. It is our way to say “Thank You!”.
The Owner purchased this house in 1983
After driving all night on our first trip, we arrived early to the naturally groomed landscape and gorgeous sunrise. We began a relationship with the island that has continued into our third generation. Our days were devoted to catching dinner – be it fish, clams, shrimp, etc. Of course, most family members were reluctant to leave their chair, book, surf board and tan. A typical evening saw a quick round of miniature golf or relaxation under the starlit skies watching the shrimp fleet. Today we enjoy the bike paths leading toward the western most tip of the island known as the Point; walking or biking along Ocean/Ocean View Drive; or just walking the beach to and from our daily excursions! Of course, there are always offshore fishing charters; some of the world’s best diving, catching a movie at Emerald Plantation shopping center; enjoying an evening of great food, drinks and atmosphere at one of the many eateries within walking distance of DEALER’S DECK EAST; we never miss the treats at one of the many sweet shops; visiting the Aquarium with unique exhibits on aquatic life such as live dives in the Living Shipwreck exhibit, shark feedings and hands-on programs for children and youth; or waterfront shopping in Swansboro, Morehead City, and Beaufort’s historical sites linked to their famous resident, Blackbeard the Pirate. We are now retired and spend every possible moment at our beloved DEALER’S DECK EAST to make sure our guests and friends enjoy their visit, entertain our immediate family, or just relax as we did for over thirty years. The amazing fact is Emerald Isle remains a family-friendly place with only a few local stores and a heart of gold.
Wake up in the morning to the sunrise over the pier! The main floor/deck area rests on top of a dune almost 30 feet above sea level – one of the highest elevations on the island. The salt-box style architecture is pitched at an angle to afford a spectacular view of the coast line for more than one mile from all but one bedroom in the TOP DECK. While we cannot guarantee an early morning performance by the traveling dolphins or wave skimming by the pelican troupe, it is worth your while to grab your morning drink and sit on the deck. Accessibility and convenience are key to a successful vacation. You are only steps away from the beach with an open shower on the main walkway from the beach. Once in the house both the bathroom and kitchen are but a few feet from the front door walking across the tile floor – most tolerable to beach attire. The laundry room (located adjacent to the kitchen on the main floor) is convenient to wash/dry the beach clothes for yet another day. Did you enjoy your stay at Dealer’s Deck East and do you have any suggestions to improve the property? As owners, these are questions that we ask each and every guest. We are local residents and play an active role ensuring that our guests thoroughly enjoy their stay. We have designed, decorated, furnished and equipped Dealer’s Deck East based upon the comments from our guests. We enjoy greeting you on your arrival with the keys or even with a small surprise and are available at any time. As an engineer, the house floor plan is designed to accommodate one large family or serve as two separate living quarters. In the off-season, the TOP DECK continues to be offered for the weekly or week-end guests where as the LOWER DECK is available as a weekly or week-end get-away or as a monthly rental for the fisherman or visitor. If there is any interest in these options, further information on rates, etc. can be obtained from the owners.
