Overview

Emerald Isle House Rental Photos and Description

House, 5 Bedrooms, 3.5 Baths, (Sleeps 12)

Swim in our crystal clear water; relax on our sandy white beach; view our abundant wildlife; and participate in our limitless aquatic activities. We are DEALER’S DECK EAST in Emerald Isle. Enjoy a one half acre of mostly deserted beachfront at the base of our protective dunes and private walkway.

Location: Less than one half mile from the high rise bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway, DEALER’S DECK EAST is located on a dead-end street safe for children to play yet central to all Emerald Isle has to offer. As owners, we will arrange to greet you with the keys and make every effort to hasten your transition into vacation mode.

Facing south on our observation deck, the sun rise is spectacular as it spreads over the Bogue Inlet fishing pier and the evening sunset paints the crests of each wave a golden pink. The moonlit evening is dotted with the lights from our local shrimp fleet. Our ground level deck area serves as an escape from those constant rays, houses an enclosed shower with hot and cold running water as well as a safe area for the children to play in the sand surrounded by the high dunes. A picnic table, market umbrella, lounge chairs, and plenty of rocking chairs are readily available along with a hot/cold, open deck shower from the beach. A perfect perch to watch the families of dolphins cruise by, often taking time to frolic in the surf and the pelicans gliding inches above the water, swooping for their meal, and soaring into the sky.

Supplies: Just pack your bathing suits and personal needs! DEALER’S DECK EAST provides all of your linens (including beach towels), beach furniture (sand chairs, beach umbrella, toys, etc.), deck furniture (table, chairs, umbrella, charcoal park grill, etc.), a library (DVDs and many books), rainy day entertainment (games, puzzles, and toys for most all ages), infant items (high chair, feeding chair, portable crib), and Xbox 360 with Kinect for family fun. The beds are made awaiting your arrival and maid service is provided to simplify your departure. Call us before you pack that extra item.

Layout: Feel right at home in this tastefully decorated beach house. While our floor plan is open (Views, Views, and more Views!), DEALER’S DECK EAST easily accommodates two separate living quarters (TOP DECK and LOWER DECK) each with private entrances but connected via an interior stairway. The 1350 square feet of space on the two floors comprising the TOP DECK contain three bedrooms, two baths, a computer work station with wireless high-speed Internet connection, kitchen with adjacent laundry room and dining area along with wall to wall windows in our Great Room housing a 42” flat screen HDTV for family entertainment, bathing suit-friendly porcelain tile floor, and casual yet comfortable seating. Our large, open dining area has two tables - one seating ten and a glass table accommodating four plus a breakfast bar with an additional three seats. The main kitchen flows into the living space with granite countertops, built-in microwave, dishwasher, and everything you need at your fingertips with small appliances and utensils to make the meal of your choice.

Each bedroom is themed (Shell, Fish, Lighthouse) with a queen size bed and breathtaking views of the spectacular sun rise over the pier as it spreads over the horizon. There is abundant storage space for your bathing suits, shorts, etc. as well as a television with DVD player for your private viewing pleasure.

The remaining 900 square feet on the ground floor (LOWER DECK) can serve as a separate unit, a haven for the grandparents to spoil those special grandchildren, or your sibling with the newborn. We have a fully stocked kitchen seating four, family/game room, two bedrooms with queen beds, a large, full bathroom, and a half bathroom with a utility sink to clean your catch of the day (or your bathing suits). The multi-purpose room serves as a living room in the off-season and an entertainment room for those rare occasions where a sun shower interrupts a day in the sun. The new Xbox 360 with Kinect is set up for family entertainment. The bedrooms are fitted with their own television and a DVD player. The ocean-side entrance opens to a covered deck with an enclosed shower and steps up to the main walkway.

We have the place for you - swim in our emerald green waters; stroll or jog on our endless beach; search for shells, sand dollars and witness the birth of a turtle; body surf, ocean kayak, parasail, or wind surf all day long; build sand castles; watch the sandpiper feed without getting wet; prepare your favorite recipe with the fresh catch from the surf and shellfish (clams, oysters, crab, scallops, and shrimp) from the Sound; fly a kite; ride your bike on our award-winning bike path; visit our many amenities; or just RELAX with each wave lapping on the shore and your favorite book. There are no high-rises or crowds at our family vacation destination – just MEMORIES!

About The Owner

As natives of Massachusetts and New Jersey, we built our retirement “dream” home in Swansboro overlooking the White Oak River in 2005. Our daughter currently resides in Georgia and son in Rhode Island – each with two grandchildren. We spent many decades in the fields of information technology, logistics and nursing in a variety of locations throughout this fine country serving the chemical, entertainment, medical, and service industries. Today we run a small business catering to a few properties in Emerald Isle with out-of-state owners and serving as their surrogate to ensure the property is handled to their expectations. We are developing a program to reward DEALER’S DECK EAST guests that truly enjoyed their vacation stay and express an interest in future reservations. It is our way to say “Thank You!”.

The Owner purchased this house in 1983

Why The Owner chose Emerald Isle

After driving all night on our first trip, we arrived early to the naturally groomed landscape and gorgeous sunrise. We began a relationship with the island that has continued into our third generation. Our days were devoted to catching dinner – be it fish, clams, shrimp, etc. Of course, most family members were reluctant to leave their chair, book, surf board and tan. A typical evening saw a quick round of miniature golf or relaxation under the starlit skies watching the shrimp fleet. Today we enjoy the bike paths leading toward the western most tip of the island known as the Point; walking or biking along Ocean/Ocean View Drive; or just walking the beach to and from our daily excursions! Of course, there are always offshore fishing charters; some of the world’s best diving, catching a movie at Emerald Plantation shopping center; enjoying an evening of great food, drinks and atmosphere at one of the many eateries within walking distance of DEALER’S DECK EAST; we never miss the treats at one of the many sweet shops; visiting the Aquarium with unique exhibits on aquatic life such as live dives in the Living Shipwreck exhibit, shark feedings and hands-on programs for children and youth; or waterfront shopping in Swansboro, Morehead City, and Beaufort’s historical sites linked to their famous resident, Blackbeard the Pirate. We are now retired and spend every possible moment at our beloved DEALER’S DECK EAST to make sure our guests and friends enjoy their visit, entertain our immediate family, or just relax as we did for over thirty years. The amazing fact is Emerald Isle remains a family-friendly place with only a few local stores and a heart of gold.

What makes this house unique

Wake up in the morning to the sunrise over the pier! The main floor/deck area rests on top of a dune almost 30 feet above sea level – one of the highest elevations on the island. The salt-box style architecture is pitched at an angle to afford a spectacular view of the coast line for more than one mile from all but one bedroom in the TOP DECK. While we cannot guarantee an early morning performance by the traveling dolphins or wave skimming by the pelican troupe, it is worth your while to grab your morning drink and sit on the deck. Accessibility and convenience are key to a successful vacation. You are only steps away from the beach with an open shower on the main walkway from the beach. Once in the house both the bathroom and kitchen are but a few feet from the front door walking across the tile floor – most tolerable to beach attire. The laundry room (located adjacent to the kitchen on the main floor) is convenient to wash/dry the beach clothes for yet another day. Did you enjoy your stay at Dealer’s Deck East and do you have any suggestions to improve the property? As owners, these are questions that we ask each and every guest. We are local residents and play an active role ensuring that our guests thoroughly enjoy their stay. We have designed, decorated, furnished and equipped Dealer’s Deck East based upon the comments from our guests. We enjoy greeting you on your arrival with the keys or even with a small surprise and are available at any time. As an engineer, the house floor plan is designed to accommodate one large family or serve as two separate living quarters. In the off-season, the TOP DECK continues to be offered for the weekly or week-end guests where as the LOWER DECK is available as a weekly or week-end get-away or as a monthly rental for the fisherman or visitor. If there is any interest in these options, further information on rates, etc. can be obtained from the owners.

What a fantastic house on the beach

  • 5 of 5
Stayed a week and what a great place. 5 bedrooms and 3.5 baths were perfect for our 10 adults and 2 babies. This house sits right on the beach and all we had to do is walk out the back door and go for a swim. Saw dolphins daily and fishing boats were right off shore. Al and Sally were great to work with. This house is well equipped with everything we needed to start our week off well. There are also 7 T.V.'s to take up the slow times and many games and puzzles. This property is very well kept and could not have been a better choice. Thanks again Al and Sally.

4 Generation Beach Get-Together

  • 5 of 5
This house was everything stated and more! It's equipped like you would want your own house to be. When Al & Sally said they had everything you'd need (beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, tons of beach toys, etc.), they weren't kidding. I know some rentals say those things but don't deliver...Al and Sally do. The house is situated at a great location too, close enough to walk to the Food Lion or the little shops in the shopping center if you wanted to and the beach here is fantastic. We had four generations, from 3mos to 70yrs, and had an awesome time. The younger generation used the Lower Deck and us "oldies" went upstairs. It was a great fit for all of us. Would definitely recommend Dealer's Deck East and would love to come again. In fact, if it had been available, we would have stayed a 2nd week! Had an Xbox but suspect that at some point a renter took the games, so Xbox games are things you might bring but that's all 'cause everything else is there. Also, new flat screens in every bedroom plus in the two living rooms.

An Excellent Choice!!

  • 5 of 5
I have booked many a vacation online only to be disappointed once we arrived. This house is an exception!! It was exactly as described and the pics were true to the real thing. Beautifully decorated and could not have been any cleaner. Plenty of towels and beach towels. Fans furnished in every room. Superb kitchens. Beds made waiting for your arrival. Plenty of beach chairs, boogie boards and sand toys. Lots of puzzles, games and books. Nice furnished deck which included many rockers. Beach is absolutely beautiful with lots of shells to collect. I have always been very leery of booking from owners and not a rental agency but not in this case. Al and Sally could not have been anymore accomodating and helpful. Top notch! They even had the cookie jar full of delicious homemade cookies!! Would highly recommend.

Bye bye Myrtle Beach!

  • 5 of 5
Such a shock to wake up yesterday and not hear kids asking to go out
on the beach, or sip my coffee on the deck overlooking the ocean this
morning!
Thank you for allowing us to experience Dealers Deck East and Emerald Isle! We loved it.
Your home is beautiful and we enjoyed every aspect of being there. It is
obvious that hospitality is your speciality, and truly you excell. The
location was perfect and we enjoyed putt putt, pedicures, several rounds of
golf, dinners out and Hershey's ice cream. We celebrated a 5th birthday, and my parents celebrated 36 years of
marriage...truly it was a marvelous week of celebrating!
Future renters need to realize there are more than enough Towels for showers and the beach, don't bring more! You DO need kitchen soaps, paper towels and bath soaps for tub and sink. With 8 adults and cooking lunches and dinner, we needed more supplies. Shopping is so much better at the Lowes back across the bridge for price, quality, and selection, maybe even cleanliness, sad to say, than the Food Lion within walking distance. Michaelangelos for pizza was as enjoyable as Hershey Ice Cream shop-Sweet Treats? The Little putt putt course at the end of the street was a little pricey, but we had fun and they tolerated 3 little ones with no problem. Bike rental was close enough to walk to and from. Pay attention to the local surfing family! 11 kids- all surfers AND they make hand soap to sell which is heavenly (surf Suds on line!). All in all a wonderful experience all because of Al and Sandy.
Thanks!

Great stay for a great price

  • 5 of 5
My family was looking for a place to meet in lieu of Christmas. My parents, brother, and sister stayed upstairs and My husband, kids and I stayed in the downstairs apartment. It was so nice for us to have our own entrance, kitchen, bathroom, etc. My kids are 3, 2, and 4 months old and Al and Sally went to great lengths to make comfortable sleeping arrangements for us all, setting up a crib and a pack-n-play for the kids! The weather was chilly most days but that didn't stop us from getting in the water and spending at least some time on the beach every day. We rented bikes for 24 hours from highway 58 and explored the island, very pretty. We saw deer and dolphins from the windows! We ate pizza at Queen Anne's Revenge (very good) and Michelangelo's (ok). The house is in such a convenient location for shopping, it was easy for someone to walk/ride to the store and back and not miss much. The views are gorgeous, the beach was better than I expected, very nice, with lots of little shells. We cooked big meals in the kitchen upstairs and had everything we needed (including some seasonings) there already. Al and Sally are super thoughtful and we found little things that make a big difference when you're settling in like stuff to make PB and J sandwiches, paper plates, HOMEMADE COOKIES (so yummy)...it's like you're staying in a friend's house. I loved that the place was safe enough for the kids and there was a highchair, a booster chair, gates, etc! My parents and siblings kept telling me how lucky we were to find such a nice place for a reasonable price. We all loved every minute there. I could go on and on about what a great place this is and what a wonderful time we had. Lots of sweet memories!

More Than Just a Rental House

  • 5 of 5
I've stayed in more than 10 beach houses in Emerald Isle, and Dealers Deck East is hands down the nicest one overall. The views are amazing, the location is convenient to just about everything, and the house is as-advertised. Clearly the owners take pride in offering a quality vacation home to their visitors. We stayed in the "Top Deck" only, since we did not require the bottom half of the house, and we were very grateful that the owners agreed to rent to us for only part of a week, which is a rarity. All of the beds were made upon our arrival - even though there were only my husband and I and our son - just so we'd have all of our sleeping options available, which was very thoughtful. It would have been very easy for the owners to have just set the sheets out or to have made up the master bedroom and left it to us to do something else if we wanted. A crib was set up in a previously agreed upon location, and the homemade cookies in the cookie jar were a very unique - and yummy - touch.

Everything is truly included - and it's nice stuff, too! The beds were comfy, the sheets and primary bath towels provided were high-quality, the beach towels were nicer than the ones we left at home, and the beach gear was in fantastic shape. The kitchen is well-equipped with cookware and dishes, the deck furniture was great, the hot-cold outside shower was more than sufficient, and I loved having the washer and dryer right off the kitchen.

As we unpacked our things on that first day, and as we kept bumping into things that you just don't normally find in rental houses but that you end up needing sooner or later - like Kleenex, extra toilet paper, plastic wrap in the pantry, note paper, pens, and even scotch tape - I couldn't help but think that it was more like spending a long weekend at a friend's beach home instead of staying in a complete stranger's rental house. You pay to rent a house on the ocean, and you end up with a lot of the comforts of home. What better way to enjoy the beach??
