Nestled in the woods of Vinal Point Lane, Wiley Cove Cottage is a throwback to the classic waterfront summer cottages Maine is known for. Updated with exceedingly comfortable furnishings and the necessities of modern life, this house is classic, private and quintessential. The house itself is 20 feet from the water, and is set in cove. There are lobster boats working right in front of the house and wildlife abounds. There are 2 deep water moorings, available for boats, directly in front of the cottage. And the house also has it's own beach for swimming and exploring just below a wonderful big deck that hangs over the water.Port Clyde and the open ocean are just down the river, if you have a boat it is a nice boat ride to Port Clyde for a visit to the general store, ice cream and a lobster roll at the Dip Net. Vinal Point Cottage,
Cushing, situated on its own peninsula southwest of Thomaston, is famous for its saltwater farms and is at the heart of Maine's 'Wyeth Country.' The Olson House—immortalized by Andrew Wyeth's paintings of the structure and its occupants, Christina and Alvaro Olson—is a widely recognized icon of the region. Another attraction is the Cushing Historical Society Museum on Hathorn Point Road. Cushing is 10 minutes from Thomaston, 20 to Rockland and 25 to Camden and Tenants Harbor/Port Clyde.
