Overview

Bozeman House Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms + Bunk Area, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

The River House on the East Gallatin River is an incredible destination for fly fishing vacations, a reunion for families or friends, a quiet getaway for a couple, a ski vacation, or a peaceful retreat for an artist or writer. The River House is located on 20 acres with a 2/3 mile of the E. Gallatin River flowing through the property. This unique vacation property is private and peaceful and yet is within 15-20 minutes of the charming, historic western town of Bozeman and 10 minutes from the airport. Bozeman is a perfect base camp for enjoying an adventurous Montana vacation. The area is abundantly rich in designated blue ribbon trout streams and rivers, and a wide variety of amazing wildlife including elk, bear, antelope, mountain goats and bighorn sheep.

Yellowstone National Park, our nation's first with Old Faithful, bison, grizzly bears and wolves, is our nation's premier wildlife viewing destination and is located 90 miles to the south of Bozeman. The drive to Yellowstone National Park through the Gallatin Canyon (the setting for the movie 'A River Runs Through It') or through the Paradise Valley or over Beartooth Pass are three of the most beautiful drives in the U.S.

Fantastic winter recreation is located right outside of Bozeman's back door with Bridger Bowl, Big Sky and Moonlight Basin resorts all within a 30-60 minute drive. The area is also home to some of our nation's finest x-country skiing destinations as well with Bohart Ranch and Lone Mountain Ranch also close by. Come visit the best that Montana has to offer and make The River House at Penwell Bridge Farm your private vacation home while you are here.

April 2015 Visit

We have stayed at the River House several times during the past few years and have always left wishing we could stay longer. The house is clean, practical and has everything you need for cooking. The new owners have upgraded the floors and windows in the house in the past year. The 20 acres of land the house sits on is a real treasure. If you have your cup of coffee out on the deck around sunrise you can hear sandhill cranes, wild turkeys, pheasant, ducks... and once in a while a couple of owls will show up. One day during our most recent stay, I counted 12 wild turkeys in the back yard of the house. The next day there was a bald eagle sitting in one of the cottonwoods right off the back deck.

The home is in a great location. Bridger Bowl is 1/2 hour away, Big Sky is 1 hour. For us fisherman, the Yellowstone, the Paradise Valley Spring Creeks, the Gallatin, and the Upper and Lower Madison can all be reached within an hour. And of course, the East Gallatin runs through the back yard. We can't wait to go back.

Amazing stay! Highly recommend for many different types of vacation seekers!

  • 5 of 5

My family wanted to come to the Bozeman area for a thanksgiving vacation. I have been all over the world and the views here took my breath away. We had snow on Wednesday and the view out of the back was very Narnia-esque! It was truly awesome.

The home is clean and beautiful. It had a warm, cozy and rustic feel. If you want to have a getaway just drinking some coffee taking in views of the porch this is the ideal place. If you want to be away from the city but want quick access to the local communities this is where you want to go. If you want a place where you can quickly get to Bozeman and have a retreat for peace and quiet; you got it this is where you want to go!

Absolutely thrilled with all things involved with this property from communicating with the owner to the time we left. This was the perfect opportunity and we will absolutely look forward to coming back! Outstanding customer service! It goes without saying I give my highest recommendation regarding this property!

Thank you again!

Family birthday gathering

House is very clean and well maintained with all the kitchen items you could possibly need. Spacious decks, old growth shade trees, and a wonderful lawn down to the river. River provided relief from the heat and the lane is a great place to take a walk. Close to Bozeman but definitely rural and lovely. Deer everywhere. Most enjoyable.

Loved The River House

  • 5 of 5

We spent 4 nights at the River House in June with 4 adults and 2 kids and we loved it. The suite of twin beds in the basement was great for the kids and the surrounding property is beautiful. The house is set up nicely and well cared for. We especially loved the huge porch. Bozeman and the surrounding mountains offer plenty to keep you active. If we ever return to Bozeman we would certainly stay at the River House again!

The River House at Penwell Farm Bridge

  • 5 of 5

The week at The River House was an AWESOME experience for my family and me. We found the property to be in excellent condition, well maintained, clean, and family (child) friendly. The property owners (Fletcher Family) were wonderful hosts and very helpful in planning our activities during our stay in Montana. The views around the property were gorgeous and the E. Gallatin River was a lot of fun for myself and the boys. There were all types of wildlife to be viewed including deer, turkeys, pheasants, and numerous other birds. Nights on the back porch were spectacular with views of The Big Sky and cool mountain breezes. Day trips (sight-seeing, hiking, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, zip lining, shopping, fishing, etc.) to the Gallatin River, Gallatin National Forest, Yellowstone National Park, Bozeman, Big Sky, and Bridger Mountains were some of the best family time spent in years. We sincerely look forward to visiting again and would certainly recommend The River House for your Montana experience!

Amazing Place

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a week at the River House. It was fabulous. A slice of paradise tucked into a beautiful part of Montana. It was close to everything, yet far enough away to get away from the hustle of town. The fishing was great right out the front door, and the kids loved swimming in the stream out front. It was a fabulous time!!!
