Welcome to Kona Reef D-33! This is a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, fully furnished condo in Kona Hawaii at the Kona Reef on the top floor. The unit sits above the water's edge with a 180 degree view of the Pacific Ocean.

Sunsets are awesome from your Lanai. The condo is located one block from the Kona Village, where it's an easy 5 minute walk to your favorite shops or restaurants. Or you can drive 4 miles to one of the best snorkel beaches in Kona. If shopping, eating or the beaches are not on your itinerary, you can relax around the beautiful oceanfront swimming pool or spa, basking in the sun. And at night you'll be gazing at millions of stars! Many vacationers just relax on their private lanai, and listen to the sounds of the surf, watch the whales and dolphins and turtles that occasionally swim by, and watch the beautiful sunsets. This is a non smoking unit both inside and out.

I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
I was very happy with the location.
The vacation rental was somewhat dirty.
The property manager was adequately helpful.

Our vacation rental experience was fine. Most of the unit is upgraded, infact 90%. But the bedroom carpet was filthy. I called to inform the management company and was told it had been cleaned in May and that it shouldn't need it. I asked for a manager to call me. After a lot of going back and forth, they finally sent someone out to clean it. It was unacceptable to rent a unit when the carpet was so dirty and a guest shouldn't have to hassle trying to get it cleaned. Also couldn't deadbolt the security screen and reported that but nothing was ever done while we were there. There is a broken lounge chair on the porch. Other than this it was a very nice unit.

This condo is a great value for the price. The pool, BBQ area, and the grounds around the condo are very clean, and maintained well. D-33 is on the 4th floor and oceanside. The breezes are better on the top floor, with more privacy and better views. You will get great pictures of the surf and the sunsets are spectacular. This particular unit was clean and stocked with about, everything you will need, with beach towels, bogie boards, coolers, beach chairs, mats, and good snorkeling equipment. It currently is in the process of a complete remodel, and we were satisfied with the unit before that. You will not be disappointed, and you can be sure there will be no surprises. If you are looking for something more fancy, you will be paying much more. Very close to everything in town, you really don't need a rental car unless you want to explore other parts of the island. This condo was very clean. The bathroom and lanai were updated very professionally. We loved he king sized bed - very comfortable. Parking was a breeze. The kitchen cabinets could use some updating- I was worried I would break the drawer for the silverware - but no other complaints.

Location was great - could walk downtown without walking on the main road - just take the back way by Kona Resorts. Watch out for the speed traps on the main road - they like to post a policeman up high by Habenaros and pull you over just down the hill.

Great viewing out the lanai - we saw dolphins numerous times. There were also surfers each night.

We also liked the convenience of doing laundry before we left.

Place was clean, great location. I would recommend to a friend. We did stay for one night with another couple in unit D1. We liked the bigger unit on the ground level.

If I were the owner of D33, I would get rid of a lot of the furniture, nik naks and make it more of a rental. On the next remodel, I would use tile for the flooring.

I appreciate the availability of the beach toys.

Very comfortable bed! Well equipped kitchen. Excellent location on the water and close to waterfront restaurants and shops. A/C isn't very effective, but that's normal for the area.
The maids showed up at 10:30 am, though, wanting to clean. Check out isn't until 11:00. They shouldn't try to clean before 11:00. They came back at 11:00 and just walked right in without knocking. We were just leaving with our last load of bags. That was the only negative.
