As featured in Columbia Gorge Magazine. Perched atop a Basalt Column, this 4,400 sqf home is a showcase of modern deign and earth worship with sweeping views of the Hood River and the Gorge from every room. Soaring window walls blur the line between inside and outside so you can relax in nature as you enjoy the combination chef's kitchen great room, or while you play a game of ping pong and watch a movie in the downstairs entertainment room. Relax in the steam room, or wander down the short trail to the private waterfall grotto. All the premium finishes you would expect in this one of a kind property. A five minuet drive to downtown Hood River, or try the two new restaurants in White Salmon.
Our family celebration (surprise retirement party for Grandad) at this home was totally wonderful. We found the home as advertised, a luxury retreat with amazing gorge views and that could be an understatement. We had plenty of room for 8 adults and 3 small children. The property was easy to find but private once there and a quick drive across the bridge to Hood River. Believe the photos - this place is as gorgeous as it looks in the pictures. We appreciated the high chair, pac 'n play, toys and books for the little ones. Missed the ping pong table but then again - we had plenty to do without it. The private waterfall is definitely an added bonus. We're trying to come up with our next excuse to come back!
We stayed at this location for 4 nights for an adventure seekers bachelorette party and we couldn't have been more pleased! We flew into Portland and it was a quick hour drive on a very scenic highway to the house. Hood River was a quick five minute hop across the river for shopping, river adventures (SUP rental was fun!), and wineries. White Salmon is 1 minute past the house for grocery stores, good restaurants, and a good view of Mt. Hood. We had an absolute blast! Would recommend this place to anyone!!
We had rented this house during the weekend we had gotten married in Hood River. It is a beautiful property and house. It was clean and in great shape when we arrived. There is a nice yard area in front where you can relax and bbq with your friends or family. The house is very modern and nice. The only down side was the owner said that there would be two sets of keys on the island when we got there and there was none. We had to call him to drop off a set and he only gave us one set. It was also very had to find this house. The road to get to this house is long dirt rocky road with some potholes so good very slowly. The road wasn't marked well for the turn off. Other than that we had a fabulous time and it fit our needs!
We had a girl's reunion weekend here and the house could not have been more perfect! Beautiful attention to detail, great amenities with everything in top shape. Close proximity to Hood River and White Salmon make it ideal for a getaway weekend. We will be back for sure!
A beautiful home with all of the touches you would not expect at a rental house, we spent a long weekend and never wanted to leave. The home had everything you could want... it was raining and we watched a movie from their collection on a HUGE flat screen, then as it cleared up we hiked down to the waterfall - awesome!! The books, the art and the decor just suited the house perfectly. The VIEW, what can I say - amazing!
I have stayed at some amazing hotels - but staying at a house like this was a even better.. You can have your bikes outside and go on an great hike or ride right out the door!
We will be back!!
Spent a few days here late September 2010. Accomodation was top class. Loved the architectural style and execution thereof. Finishing touches were exquisite. Really liked the wood and steel structural features. Loved the 'open' feel. Views from the main room down to the Columbia River were amazing.
The waterfall at the end of the little trail was a unique feature. Back east (NY) this would gain state park status. Great place to chill.
We spent a couple of days mountain biking right out from the back door and up the mountain. Great trails.
The local brewery served up some great beer and good live music.
