We recently spent two fabulous weeks at this Hideaway Retreat property. Property description says it all! At one point we had a total of twelve enjoying the residence. It has plenty of space for everyone with spacious bedrooms and more than adequate bathrooms. Temps were in mid to high 80's with only a brief shower on the mainland one PM. Property has two large outside decks; one on second level. From these areas we enjoyed refreshments while watching the sunsets. Plenty of tables and chairs provided. We could enjoy beautiful scenery and wildlife while preparing meals in the kitchen or on the deck. Grandkids played in screened in porch after enjoying the water. Also had our Easter meal together on the porch while enjoying the great weather. Beach is only steps away with only a few people accessing it as they search for shells or sharks teeth. Friendly neighbors also stop to share their tips. During our visit we had the requisite visits by Henry the heron, along with a bald eagle, snowy egrets, pelicans, cormorants, etc. We had a glorious time with our family since we do not have the opportunity to vacation with everyone at the same time. Also we found many sharks teeth right on the property. One Englewood resident shared with us the fact that he had found a 3 1/2 tooth (Megladon) right down the beach a year or so ago. During our stay we also traveled to Busch Gardens. Venice, Boca Grande, and Nokomis Groves for their famous ice cream. All in all, everyone enjoyed our stay on Manasota Key, a classic example of "old" Florida. Limited beach access, canopied covered roadway, no commercial properties, except for two small "grandfathered" resorts a mile away. Thanks to the Mackes family for sharing their residence along with their welcoming gift and to Col. "Mac" Mac Farland for his attention to the property.
Our family of twelve including four children, had a wonderful time at this home. Dave and Mac were so nice to work with. There was a basket of fruit and makings for breakfast waiting for us and a Valentine's balloon, too! What a friendly and kind welcome. The location was amazing! It was very private and the sunsets were indescribable! We spent hours on the beach playing and on the decks relaxing. We found beautiful shells and sharks' teeth (which one of my grandchildren shared with his classmates). The home was clean, spacious, and quiet. So nice to have bathrooms for each bedroom, too Would highly recommend this home to friends and anyone!
Everything was perfect this week for our family, including the weather! This is truly a beach paradise. So private for the most relaxing vacation we could ask for. Thank you for opening your home to us!
Beautiful Home. Our family feel blessed to have enjoyed such a wonderful property. We would recommend it to families wanting to vacation together. The owners are very generous offering such a marvelous home for rent. We did not want to come home after a weeks vacation. Home has anything you may need. The view is ever changing. God Bless
We rented this beach house for our annual family vacation. It was our first time renting this house and it was wonderful! There were 12 of us, 4 kids and 8 adults. We had plenty of room for all of us. The beach was beautiful and filled with fish for my husband to catch. The rocks in the water made for wonderful snorkeling, too. We cannot wait to come back!
This is the second time that my family and I stay in this home. We are a large group of 10 people and we all fit comfortably. The beach is wonderful and private. You will see dolphins playing in the water and there are seashells and sharks' teeth galore. The owner and local caretaker are both extremely courteous and responsive. The house is in great condition inside and we had no compliants or concerns. Thank you for the wonderful week.
