Lovely, cozy and comfortable, with spectacular views of Vermont's highest peak - Mt. Mansfield. Except for the very high end new Inn at the mountain, we are closer than almost all other rental options in Stowe. Cross country skiing and snowshoeing are available from your doorstep. Skiing is about a five minute drive away. After a day of invigorating downhill skiing, lounge in our outdoor heated pool and/or sauna. A fitting end to a perfect day at the Ski Capital of the East. A full range of dining is all within seven miles of Notchbrook - from the finest to the 'not so finest'. The new development at the Mountain allows you to move from the 'old' Stowe village where Lowell Thomas broadcast his evening news from the Green Mountain Inn in the 30's to the 'new' hamlet at Spruce Peak - a most exciting development. As in the musical Brigadoon, you can pierce the veil of time, experiencing a lasting and memorable stay.
This unit is the only unit owned by the Notchbrook Association that is for rent. It is well maintained, and often rented by several of our condominium owners for their 'overflow' guests. I am an owner and control the rental reservations for this unit, since I am a full time resident.
My wife and I bought our first unit (we now have two) in 1973, and have never regretted it a moment. At first a ski get away from New York City, we later 'discovered' summer in Vermont. So where did we decide to move to permanently when I retired in 2000? Stowe, Vermont - and Notchbrook. Over 35 years ago, and it has never lost it's luster.
After a couple of days of downhill skiing, rent a pair of snowshoes and set out for a short hike through the woods to the Hourglass Bar at the new hamlet of Spruce Peak. After a hot rum toddy in the amazing Inn, hike back to Notchbrook for a sauna and swim before the evening activities. What a day!!
