Overview

Moclips House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 2-8)

Seashore Dreams is truely a magical place on the Washington Coast. Many of our guests have felt the quiet ambience of each home enjoying the views of whales passing through in the morning and watching the fishing boats in the night.

Our panoramic duplex home consists of two complete and separate homes. These townhomes may be rented individually or in combination for up to 12-14 people maximum (if renting both homes) - it is most comfortable with 2-3 couples per home. Each home has 2 private bedrooms and 1 loft bedroom. Coastal Breeze sleeps a maximum of 6 guests, Sea Mist can sleep a maximum of 8 guests. Each home has a one car garage and parking for another 2 vehicles. Seashore Dreams is a 'no shoes' home.

Coastal Breeze Cottage, is our non-dog home and has been popular for that ladies getaway, scrapbooking, quilting, mother's 86th birthday or a couples wedding anniversay. It is a place when you want to treat yourself or your loved ones to something 'special'. We are the most accomodating of homes in the area for the 50+ crowd with our one level living, great lighting, universal design, antiques, art work and outstanding views. We have periodic weekday specials in the off season as well as a repeat guest discount.

Sea Mist house (north home) is set up to be 'dog friendly' and allows responsible *dog owners to stay with up to 2 clean, well behaved dogs under 15 pounds or 1 large well behaved calm dog. Yes, we being responsible dog owners ourselves cater to others who care about their furry friends. Dog towels, rinse station, extra bowls and carpet runners are just a few of the extra things we thought of. (dogs must be approved and on contract prior to arrival)

Sea Mist is designed with Ships and a Sea Captain flavor along with a Pacific Northwest flair. Colored with misty green walls and natural woodwork, we are told this home has the most relaxing atmosphere. 2 Queen beds in private rooms, 1 Queen Sofa Bed in great room and a trundle bed (2 twin beds) up in the 'crows nest' (private), this home sleeps a maximum of 8. Maximum parking is 3 vehicles. Sea Mist has inspired both photographers and poets alike. We have begun a poetry wall for those who wish to contribute.

Our townhomes are high bank - making the ocean views one of the best in North Beach. (Because of their location on a cliff, these homes may not be suitable for young children under age 12)

Both of our homes feature granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, woodburning stove-fireplace, tile baths, warm comfortable hydronic in floor heat, media center with Basic Satellite connection, HD DVD, large plasma TV, free wireless internet and relaxing jetted spa tub in the master suite(s).

When creating our Seashore Dreams, we designed to have views from every room. Which ever home you choose, you will enjoy 180 degree ocean and beach views to the West and Olympic Mountain views from the front porch which faces East. Though not sitting on the sand, we are only a five minute walk to the beach. Easy walking access to beach as well as a 1/2 mile drive to beach entrance should you choose to take the car on to the sand.

Both Coastal Breeze Cottage and Sea Mist are non-smoking properties. We are *dog friendly. (**Dogs subject to pre-approval and refundable damage deposit - dogs can't be left alone but can be crated) To get an accurate quote, please provide number of guests and dogs when inquiring. Base rate is for 2 guests, additional guests $15/night. Dogs less than 15 pounds $20 per stay/over 16 pounds $40 per stay.

Come, relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Please feel free to email us with any questions about these homes. Contact us directly about availability.

A NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of one nights down plus tax is required to hold your spot along with a signed reservation agreement. Please read all policies before booking on our main website. Minimum stay 2 nights off season, 3 nights peak season and holidays. The more nights you stay, the lower the rate.

Must be over age 25 to rent this property. There is no charge for children under the age of 1.

Standing on the seashore watching the waves break, I feel the tide of exhileration sweeping over me--lifting my spirits, freshening my outlook, and soothing my mind with wave after wave of good feeling.--Jim Beggs

About DeAnne

My husband and I became 'ocean loving people' about 30 years ago. We enjoy the fresh air of the coast, the sounds of the pounding ocean and watching the storms come and go. I love photography and find this a great retreat to help get my creative juices going again. We have been dog owners and trainers for many years and we wanted a place to be dog friendly for us and for responsible guests with clean, well trained dogs.

DeAnne purchased this house in 2005

Why DeAnne chose Moclips

As a family, we have been visiting Moclips since the 1980's We would walk the beach dreaming of someday owning our own vacation home. One day in January 2005 we took a random drive up SR 109 and stumbled upon the most overgrown decrepit property. We walked through the tall grass and took one look at the view and were totally wowed. We sat on the crumpled deck in back and looked at each other and said 'I guess we're going to be buying this'. After one year of living in the 'shack' we coordinated our architect and builder and together designed Seashore Dreams which was completed in September 2007. We designed both homes with the view in mind - making sure whereever you went in the home you would see the ocean. We also wanted to make sure it was built green and we recycled the old building and built new with renewable resources, low VOC paints and clean in floor heat. Thus the Dream of a vacation home became reality. We really put our heart and sole into this special place.

What makes this house unique

We are a side by side duplex - each home being individual can be rented by itself. It is also great for two families, couples, friends who want to rent side by side but still have privacy. Because we sit sixty feet above the beach and had a large lot, we made the home one level living but added a loft bedroom in each unit. The views are phenomenal and what people enjoy most about our homes. We were aging ourselves and thought making our home easily accessible (no stairs) would benefit a growing segment of our guests. We added ramp entries into the design, wider doorways and lower light switches to name a few. We created a bath that could accomodate a wheelchair and a rollin in shower. We are walking distance to the Museum. We are not in a development and are bordered by a windblown treed lot. One of the favorites of our lady guests are the jetted tubs in the master suite baths...very relaxing after a brisk walk on the beach below. Beach access is easy and just a short walk down Sunset Street.

One thing for sure is that it is a relaxing get away where you can choose to be active or you can choose to just sit and watch the ocean.

family getaway

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at SeaMist with two grandparents, two parents, two kids, and one dog. Our hope was to have a true getaway and enjoy family downtime at the ocean. SeaMist exceeded our expectations! The house was wall-to-wall "attention to detail", very clean, the views were incredible, and beach access was easy. We would highly recommend staying here and plan to return in the future.

Getaway with close frieinds

  • 5 of 5

My two friends and I spent a delightful three nights viewing the waves of the Pacific Ocean as we rested and revived from a hectic winter. The accommodations were excellent with every convenience available, including a fully equipped kitchen. The beds were wonderful and I have ordered a foam mattress pad, just like the one which was on my bed. The moon shone from outside my bedroom, giving extra ambiance to the evening. I would highly recommend a stay at Coastal Breeze. It is the perfect get-away. I hope to be back. We enjoyed visiting the museum near by and Ocean Crest Restaurant, plus going to the Chapel for the Palm Sunday Church Service

75th Birthday Get-a-way

  • 5 of 5

Three nights with my entire family for my 75th birthday at the SeaMist in Moclips was about as perfect as it can get; from the excellent ocean view, the warming fire in the wood stove, large table for enjoying our meals and playing games, the outdoor fire pit for roasting wieners and making sumores, the jetted tub for soaking my old bones, and the spiral staircase to my grandson's room in the loft. We all felt welcomed, and the transition to making this our home for three days was effortless, thanks to the owners and their guidance. The instructions were clear and precise. The house was so well equipped, we were not left wanting of anything.

The hike to the beach was invigorating and not as difficult as first perceived. The neighbors below were most friendly, and we made several treks to the beach. We could easily hike to a nice restaurant, the local store, and even a local bar, just to check it out for "homey" flavor!

The weather was most cooperative, with some heavy rains that quickly passed, followed by light breezes and relatively warm temperatures for March.

This was our first trip to North Washington beaches and we enjoyed it very much, thanks mostly to the accommodations at the SeaMist. And we were most proud that we did not turn on a single TV our entire stay, as there was plenty to do with games, puzzles, listening to music, watching the waves and visiting. Nice place!

Owner's Response: What a neat way to spend your 75th Birthday with grand kids and family! You really saw what a vacation home is about. Enjoying each other - without all the everyday electronics turned on, getting out in the fresh air for a "hike" to the beach and poking around the local establishments for getting a true feel of the Washington Coast culture. Next time stop by the local museum just 1 block down the highway South of our home. It's really worth checking out the history of the area. If you or family like glass art, there is a fascinating "local" artist just 1/4 mile North on the highway who has some very fun things as well as being fun to talk to. Hope you visit again!

Ocean visit with elderly parent

  • 5 of 5

My spouse and I could have enjoyed staying at Coastal Breeze just on our own. But this is the second time we have visited with my spouse's 94 -year old mother. Because of the home's accessibility features, she could get around just fine with her walker. Of course, the other big reasons that we are repeat visitors is that the place is well-organized, attractive, and comfortable--AND the high-bluff oceans views are amazing. Also doesn't hurt to have the very nice Ocean Crest Restaurant about a block away when we don't feel like cooking!

Wow

  • 5 of 5

We were blown away every turn. This place is first class and demands that you respect it. You will not be disappointed in this place. It's classy, comfortable and open! The views from EVERY room are amazing. My favorite part was how clean it was and the slow burning wood fireplace. It was hard to leave!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the kind words. We really appreciate it when guests realize the thought and work put into creating a beautiful vacation home. Becky, our cleaning person, is to be commended too! We hope you visit us again!

Sea Mist

  • 5 of 5

In early October my wife and I stayed for our third time at DeAnne and Rich's ocean getaway and have enjoy all three visits. This time we took advantage of the dog friendly side of the units with our 11 year old puppy who had never seen the ocean before. We could not wipe the smile off his face as he ran freely up and down the water's edge. A local tavern just down the road has very friendly locals and the food is great, if you choose not to cook in the ready to use kitchen. I would recommend renting one of the units in a heartbeat!!

Owner's Response: Thank you for sharing your experience. We love dogs and wanted to offer a clean beautiful home for responsible dog owners to stay too - thus SeaMist was created. Dogs love the wide open space of the sand. I hope you got some great photo's of him smiling.
