The three story stone building, which dates back to the 14th century, has been recently restored and is located in the heart of the historical center of this small village at the end of the valley, crossed by the Nera river. The interior design is simple, well-cared for and perfectly in harmony with the medieval atmosphere of the village.
There is one double room with a private bath and three double rooms with a shared bathroom. There is also another little bathroom on the ground floor.
3 rooms are on the second floor and 1 room is in the attic that opens onto a delightful little balcony. There is another terrace with a view of the river. There is a large living room on the ground floor, with a fireplace, open face stone walls, ceiling with exposed wooden beams and rustic decor. The kitchen with another living/dining room and another fireplace is on the second floor.
At Scheggino you can visit the archaeological remains of the city wall and the 12th century castle, the San Nicola Church, the Valcasana springs which are truly an enchanting nature spot.
The village is only 10 minutes by car from Spoleto, about 20 minutes from Norcia, Cascia, Spello, 30 minutes from Assisi. 45 minutes from Perugia. 90 minutes from Rome.
Within a few miles you can visit the Clitunno springs, Trevi, Cascia, Norcia, the Piediluco Lake and the Marmore Falls (The highest falls in Europe: 165 m. in three jumps).
