We enjoy our lake home very much! We have another Lake Home and decided to rent this one - as we have decided to keep both in the family.
The Owner purchased this house in 1989
Location was great - not too far of a drive from the Twin Cities with great roads. Close to Mille Lacs Lake for some great fishing - close to Brainerd for great entertainment. The best thing is Round Lake is a great lake, just the right size, not too busy with a lot of other boaters, it has a sandy beach with very clear clean water, and great swimming for the entire family. We are located in a great bay with very few other property owners.
The tranquility of the lake and sunsets are just amazing. It is hard to explain until you have experienced it. The sandy beach, quiet lake, swimming, and just soaking up the sun on the dock or relaxing by the fire in the fire pit are so enjoyable. The large lot makes it nice to enjoy other lawn activities while still enjoying the water. Also, watching the resident eagles soar and osprey dive for fish add to the total enjoyment of the lake experience.
Thank you so much, everyone had a good time. The kids learned how to play poker during the bad weather day, the beach was perfect and our family all enjoyed your million dollar view of the lake at sunset. Take care and hopefully we will see you next year.
This is the second time we spent a week at this cabin and we had a wonderful time again. The swimming beach and sandy bottomed lake were wonderful. We swam with our 7 year old twice a day. The yard is huge and flat with a great view of the lake. We would absolutely recommend this cabin to anyone looking to spend a week at the lake.
We had a family reunion at this cabin that our grandfather originally built around 1926. Most of us had visited during our childhoods and had many fond memories. Back then the facilities were more crude - outdoor biffy, root cellar, kerosene lamps, etc. The most modern appliance was a propane stove. Now it's in great shape to spend a quiet few days or week there. Make time to watch the spectacular sunsets over the lake! Karen and Doug, the owners, are right next door and made sure our stay was comfortable!
It was such a treat to spend a lazy summer week with family at Round Lake. What fun to see my almost 4year old Granddaughter learn to canoe with Dad and catch her first fish just 30 feet from the dock. Add on the best beach for swimming and then, top it off with bonfires, sunsets, popcorn, s'mores and fireflies. What a great way to end a lazy day. Doug and Karen have furnished their comfy cabin with nearly everything needed. Just bring your swimsuits, beach towels, life jackets and sunscreen!
Dean and I had a wonderful week at Round Lake! The cabin far exceeded our expectations. Karen and Doug were great and gave us great tips for fishing, dining, and shopping for food. We loved the loons and the serenity of the lake. Canoeing around the shore of the lake with the cabin's provided canoe on Sunday morning was a highlight! We would definitely come back!
What a special treat to return to Round Lake after 50 plus years and find those childhood memories of the lake as if time stood still. Those sunsets, sandy beach, just a few steps down to the shore and beautiful views of a lovely little lake that has more wildlife than I recall. The cabin is adorable, eclectic, cozy and spacious. Doug and Karen have done a terrific job at renovating and landscaping their home and were truly amazing hosts. Thank you so much for new great memories of a special place.
The pictures do not do the cabin justice. The lake, the sunsets, and the landscaping were beautiful! The cabin is cozy with lots of room for families and more than enough room for two! It's very quiet and we were very happy to celebrate our 35th summer together in these surroundings. Thank you Karen & Doug!
