Oak Harbor House Rental Photos and Description
House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)
This comfortable home with its 46' wide screen TV above the fireplace has room for the whole family and friends. It is perfect temporary housing for military families who are house-hunting or for families who want to come from out of town to visit their loved ones stationed at Oak Harbor NAS.
The floor plan is open and inviting and makes entertaining a breeze. There is a well-stocked pantry, top quality cook wear, and the Mikasa dishes will help you set a beautiful table.
The master suite boasts a comfortable queen bed and a color TV . An adjoining 3/4 bath with shower ensures just the right amount of privacy. The other two bedrooms have a queen and a full bed respectively. A queen futon sofa in the living room provides additional sleeping accommodations for 2 adults or 2 children.
Besides the large living room, there is a bright sun room which leads out to the large, fenced back yard. Enjoy the picnic table and fire ring while the kids play in the grass. We don't need air conditioning because the house stays cool and there are no bugs to worry about either. In the summer, Whidbey Island is as close to being in Paradise that you will find.
An attached garage provides plenty of room for bicycles, motorcycles, or two small cars. The extra large capacity Maytag washer and dryer mean even the laundry chores will be enjoyable.
From the moment you enter the beautiful leaded glass front door, you're going to feel 'at home'. Just kick up your feet and let the island work its magic.

About Deanna Johnson
My husband and I really enjoy living on Whidbey Island. My husband is a substitute teacher and I am a part-time care giver for special needs children. Our hobbies include motorcycles, bicycling, swimming and traveling. We have visited 32 different countries and recently bought a place in San Carlos, Mexico where we spend part of our winters.
Deanna Johnson purchased this house in 1996
Why Deanna Johnson chose Oak Harbor
Jim retired from the Navy in 1994. His last duty station was NAS Whidbey and he liked it so well here that he never returned to his home state of PA. I came to Whidbey in 1975 and raised my four sons in Freeland. When Jim and I married in 2005, neither one of us wanted to sell our houses, so we decided to keep both. We have enjoyed remodeling and updating our homes and manage our properties ourselves. I love to garden and Jim is a real whiz at wood-working so this is a wonderful way to showcase our talents.
It seemed like there was a need for temporary housing for military families with children and also a need for reasonably-priced accommodations so that families could come from out of town to visit their loved ones that are stationed here in OH. We are pleased to be able to provide this service and are starting our 6th year.
What makes this house unique
This house is set up for entertaining. We have a very large family and so a convenient, modern kitchen was a must-have. It is very easy to cook for a crowd and there is a nice grill on the back patio to use when the weather is nice. The kitchen is equipped with all the necessary pots, pans, cookie sheets, etc. that will be needed to cook your family's feast. The open floor plan makes it possible to entertain without feeling crowded.
If you need a babysitter, we have a highly dependable neighbor girl who is 16. Having two sisters, ages 10 and 2, she has had a great deal of experience taking care of children. I have known her all my life and she is a wonderful person. She lives just two doors down.
Guestbook comments from the owner
The description does not do justice to the home. The house is close to major supermarkets as well as food, adding to the convenience factor. The decor is well thought out, and the amenities are to die for. The owners are very thoughtful and understanding, it is as though they have tried to think of everything possible to make their guests' stay as fun as possible. I had the pleasure of using this great vacation spot to host and facilitate a Leadership and Planning Retreat for our large team of Scout volunteers, and the house fit all of us comfortably (we took up all the beds and floor space!). We were able to get a lot of planning done, as well as stay connected, via wifi, with the other volunteers who could not make it down on the trip. I would definitely recommend this house to my other friends who plan to conduct similar retreats, and wouldn't mind making a return trip in the future either! Thanks again Deanna and Jim!
