This comfortable home with its 46' wide screen TV above the fireplace has room for the whole family and friends. It is perfect temporary housing for military families who are house-hunting or for families who want to come from out of town to visit their loved ones stationed at Oak Harbor NAS.
The floor plan is open and inviting and makes entertaining a breeze. There is a well-stocked pantry, top quality cook wear, and the Mikasa dishes will help you set a beautiful table.
The master suite boasts a comfortable queen bed and a color TV . An adjoining 3/4 bath with shower ensures just the right amount of privacy. The other two bedrooms have a queen and a full bed respectively. A queen futon sofa in the living room provides additional sleeping accommodations for 2 adults or 2 children.
Besides the large living room, there is a bright sun room which leads out to the large, fenced back yard. Enjoy the picnic table and fire ring while the kids play in the grass. We don't need air conditioning because the house stays cool and there are no bugs to worry about either. In the summer, Whidbey Island is as close to being in Paradise that you will find.
An attached garage provides plenty of room for bicycles, motorcycles, or two small cars. The extra large capacity Maytag washer and dryer mean even the laundry chores will be enjoyable.
From the moment you enter the beautiful leaded glass front door, you're going to feel 'at home'. Just kick up your feet and let the island work its magic.

My husband and I have really enjoyed living on Whidbey Island. After being in the short-term rental business for the last 8 years, we have decided to retire and spend the majority of our year in Mexico. This summer we will be taking the house out of the short-term rental market and will be putting it up for sale.
Deanna Johnson purchased this house in 1996
Jim retired from the Navy in 1994. His last duty station was NAS Whidbey and he liked it so well here that he never returned to his home state of PA. I came to Whidbey in 1975 and raised my four sons in Freeland. When Jim and I married in 2005, neither one of us wanted to sell our houses, so we decided to keep both. We have enjoyed remodeling and updating our homes and manage our properties ourselves. I love to garden and Jim is a real whiz at wood-working so this is a wonderful way to showcase our talents.
We recognized a need for temporary housing for military families with children and also a need for reasonably-priced accommodations so that families could come from out of town to visit their loved ones that are stationed here in OH. We are pleased to be able to provide this service and are ending our 8th year.
This house is set up for entertaining. We have a very large family and so a convenient, modern kitchen was a must-have. It is very easy to cook for a crowd and there is a nice grill on the back patio to use when the weather is nice. The kitchen is equipped with all the necessary pots, pans, cookie sheets, etc. that will be needed to cook your family's feast. The open floor plan makes it possible to entertain without feeling crowded.
The description does not do justice to the home. The house is close to major supermarkets as well as food, adding to the convenience factor. The decor is well thought out, and the amenities are to die for. The owners are very thoughtful and understanding, it is as though they have tried to think of everything possible to make their guests' stay as fun as possible. I had the pleasure of using this great vacation spot to host and facilitate a Leadership and Planning Retreat for our large team of Scout volunteers, and the house fit all of us comfortably (we took up all the beds and floor space!). We were able to get a lot of planning done, as well as stay connected, via wifi, with the other volunteers who could not make it down on the trip. I would definitely recommend this house to my other friends who plan to conduct similar retreats, and wouldn't mind making a return trip in the future either! Thanks again Deanna and Jim!
This is a "homey" home with something for everyone. Basketball hoop in the driveway for the teens, plenty of room in the back yard to kick a ball around, well stocked kitchen. We were met by the owners with a platter of fresh cookies and a fruit bowl. The home is centrally located to all the Whidbey Island State Parks which are gorgeous. Couldn't be happier with our stay.
This house was excellent! A group of us came to Whidbey Island for a running race mid-december and we really enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean, spacious and the fireplace made for very cozy hangouts in the living room. I would definitely recommend this house to families or small groups!
Really enjoyed our stay, beautiful house in great neighborhood
This is a perfect house for families!! We spent almost 5 weeks here with our 6 and 9 year old boys, and I highly recommend this property! Owner was very responsive to any needs or questions!
So happy that we found your home to rent for the Whidbey Island Marathon weekend. Only 1.5 miles from the finish line and about a mile from the expo we found it to be very convenient. I have rented many vacation homes thru-out the years and this was one of the cleanest and best stocked houses. Everything was as described, owners were available if needed and they left us brownies! Our beds were comfy and the kitchen had absolutely everything we needed. Top of the line appliances were a plus. We really felt like we were at home and not renting a house. Would definitely rent again if we head that way in the future.
This was a great house during our PCS out of Oak Harbor. It has everything from a wine opener to crock pot. This home is the next best thing to your own. Enjoy!
Oak Harbor is the gateway to the San Juan Islands. It is also close enough for a day-trip to Seattle via the Deception Pass Bridge or the Clinton Ferry. From Anacortes there is a ferry to Victoria, BC and from Coupeville, there is a ferry that crosses over to the Olympic Penninsula.
