Wonderful, comfortable home

This is a wonderful home for a stay on the Vineyard. The owner provides thorough, accurate driving directions, as well as instructions on the use of all aspects of the home and its appliances. Linens are provided with color-coded instructions showing which sets to use on which bed and in which bathroom.
The property was immaculate when we arrived.
The turkeys that hang out near the pond are a treat for the kids.
The owner returned the escrow deposit very promptly.
Our favorite part of the house was the outdoor patio. It has comfortable furniture, and the whole family enjoyed hanging out there in the evening, grilling, and eating meals.
The bikes in the basement are also a nice amenity.
Visitors should be prepared for the air conditioning situation. Like most Vineyard houses, this one does not have central air. There are air conditioners in some (perhaps all?) of the bedrooms. There is also an air conditioner for the living room. The downstairs layout is very open; the living room, dining room, and kitchen all basically blend in to each other. We had three days with high temps between 88 and 92 degrees. These were good beach days, as during the afternoon the non-air conditioned areas were a little warm. Note, however, that high temps from 88-92 are exceptionally high for the Vineyard. I just checked and these three days are the hottest on record for 2012 (through August 14). The rest of our stay the temperatures were around 80, and the house's fans did a great job of keeping the non-air-conditioned rooms very pleasant.
All in all, a great place if you're coming with 8-10 people!
