As featured in 'San Diego Home and Garden', this professionally decorated 1936 Cliff May hacienda is one of a kind. Located in the very heart of the Village, the home is 4 blocks from the beach, 4 blocks from shopping and many fine restaurants on Orange Avenue, and Concerts at Spreckles Park.
Completely restored, the 3000 SF home is situated on a corner lot with 3 private large courtyards. True to Cliff May, when you enter the 'front door'; you find yourself in an indoor/outdoor living experience. With French doors off most rooms, the home wraps around the main courtyard which features the iconic 75 year old olive tree, fountain, and furniture for lounging. Another courtyard is for outdoor dining with an outdoor wood burning fireplace.
The home is designed with elegant, and yet, casual furnishings throughout. The Venetian plastered living room and dining room are great for entertaining, including a 48'; LED LCD TV. The kitchen includes everything you need for gourmet cooking, a built in dining table, and great room with a 55'; LED LCD TV, surround sound, DVR, and DVD. The den is fully appointed as a business office.
The private master bedroom is located upstairs and has a balcony which spans over the main courtyard. The room includes a queen bed, and the master bathroom includes a full body spray shower. Downstairs includes a boys nautical room, and a girls hand painted fairy princess room.
Accessed from the main courtyard by terracotta stairs, is a secluded guest suite, featuring a queen bed, and oversized soaker tub.
The house includes WiFi, Pandora high tech music in each room, and an outdoor lighting system.
For an additional fee, an exclusive weekly private Hotel del Coronado Club Membership is available. This membership includes use of the member's pool, fitness center, clubhouse cottage, and private beach facilities.
This Spanish Hacienda is rich in Architecture true to Coronado Island history. Our family had an amazing stay at this very tidy house. The open air living court including the opportunity to dine outside in the evenings made it possible to enjoy every minute of the beautiful weather during our stay.
The home is in very close proximity to Orange Ave (leading to the Hotel Del) where one can walk through the many interesting shops. There are many varieties of restaurants also on this street. Vonn’s Grocery Store, nearby also afforded us the opportunity to just enjoy the gourmet kitchen at this house and just dine in after a long day at the beach on several evenings during our stay.
This home is in my opinion ideally located on the island. Everything is within walking or biking distance. We hope to stay here again on our next family vacation to California.
The owners are very gracious and truly were interested in making sure that everything was seamless during our stay. Just a quick note to say that the house, as well as the owner were excellent. No issues, and we even had to stay an extra night at the last minute.
I have a family with young kids, and the set up of the home worked perfectly for us. The aesthetic was our taste, and it really is a pleasure to stay in someone else's home and have it feel like ours. Clean, smartly designed, and safe. Check check check.
Absolutely gorgeous home that exceeded our expectations in all respects--from the well-appointed bedrooms to the elegant outdoor spaces to the fully-equipped kitchen. The owners have seemingly thought of every detail which made us feel more like houseguests than renters. Bicycles are provided for the short trip to the beach and Orange St. (the main shopping and restaurant area) is a short walk away. Would definitely recommend to a friend and hope to revisit ourselves.
This house is worth every penny ! We really enjoyed the outdoor living spaces. It is beautifully furnished and in great condition. It has everything you need for a great vacation.

This Coronado home was the perfect backdrop to an amazing stay in Southern California. The home is incredibly comfortable, beautifully decorated and had all the amenities that anyone would ever need. We have two children ages 12 and 14 and each had their own space and loved their rooms. We also brought my mother-in-law and she enjoyed having her own entrance to an amazing guest suite. The master bedroom is on the second floor and felt like a private sanctuary with doors looking out to the beautifully furnished open courtyard. The home is perfectly located. We had full access to their bikes, wagons and anything else we might need. I would highly recommend this home for your next vacation. Not only are the owners wonderful and kind people to work with, they have amazing taste and care about every aspect of your vacation. This is a real gem and a great opportunity to stay in paradise.
