This serene, turn-key cottage is a quintessential New England property, located in the quaint village of Litchfield. The house sits on a private deadend street and is less than a mile from the town center, where one can easily walk to the shops, restaurants, library, churches, and the Chabad.
The house rests on a lush, landscaped, half acre, with a deck and patio, overlooking a fenced backyard.
There are 3 bedrooms. 2 full bathrooms, and a 4-season sun porch with a convertible twin bed sofa. There is a fully-stocked gourmet kitchen with granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances.
Also, a warmly decorated living room and formal dining room. The deck has a premiere gas grill and patio set; the backyard abuts a charming woods.
My name is Sharyn; I live in NYC and am a publishing professional. I was introduced to Litchfield several years ago and fell in love with the area. There's so much to see and do. I was fortunate to find this ideal home 4 years ago, and it's the perfect country getaway! The seasons are amazing; lots of snow in the winter; tons of colors in autumn; quintessential spring and New England summer. I always look forward to spending time at the house and believe you will too.
The Owner purchased this house in 2007
While staying in Litchfield, you can enjoy extraordinary hiking trails, beautiful wooden covered bridges, roaring streams and water falls and awesome fall follige. You'll be near Lake Compounce, Quassy, and 6 Flags New England amusement parks. Also, there are many antique shops and flea markets nearby.
We spent a week here - a summer respite from the city. The house is elegant, charming and comfy. We had a great time in the back yard, taking baths in the gorgeous tub and generally relaxing in a very nice, relaxing space. We walked into town for dinner and enjoyed the peace and quiet. It's such a pretty area and we appreciated this house very much.
We spent a week at this wonderful home in Litchfield. The three bedroom home was charmingly decorated and the artwork throughout was fun. The town center was an easy walk to restaurants and shops. The Village restaurant/pub was a favorite. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed using the gas grill on the deck. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this terrific home to friends visiting the area!
We stayed at this home instead of a hotel for a weekend visiting family, so we are familiar with the area. What a great find! The house is older, but has been been beautifully renovated and decorated. It has a nice deck, patio and large fenced yard. The house is very well stocked with most anything you need. It is in a beautiful residential neighborhood, walking distance from shops and restaurants. What an awesome place for a weekend in the country. The owner is great, and seems to have gone out of her way to make the house welcoming. We felt like we were borrowing the home of a friend. I highly recommend this property, and hope that we have an opportunity to stay there again.
Perfect stay. Home was fully equipped and in immaculate condition. Owner was very responsive at all times. Highly recommend to anyone needing wonderful accommodations in Litchfield.
Excellent property - large, comfortable bedrooms, lovely family bath, extremely well-stocked kitchen with every utensil you'd need to cook almost any meal, fabulous back deck. Listing photos true reflection of property. Owner very responsive and helpful in addressing queries. Highly recommend!
I was able to stay at this lovely home in October of 2010. I was in town for my father's wedding. This home was exceedingly comfortable, the beautiful backyard and deck make the house seem twice as large. The house was clean, the kitchen is stocked with any pot/pan/ etc you would need..definitely a perfect kitchen for someone who enjoys cooking. We had a small brunch and the well appointed kitchen made it easy to pull off! I will definitely plan on renting this home again when I go visit my father and his lovely wife. The ability to have space and not a hotel room is important when visiting family!! And this home was a much better deal then renting a room from the local hotel. We loved it!
