Great winter retreat with friends

Spent an incredible week in February, 2011 at the Tupper Lake Lodge with a group of friends. The house is wonderful! Our group consisted of married couples with infants but we agreed lodge is ideally set up for families and groups of all sorts. Once you pull off the main road to the house, you drive along the long and windy driveway with deer everywhere. It's the perfect length as it physically and mentally removes you from the rest of the world and leads you to the most peaceful home.
When you walk in, the livingroom impresses you with its high ceiling and post and beam construction. The livingroom also has unique fire places on both ends which we enjoyed using every night. The kitchen is not only a pleasure to cook in but it draws people in to chat and relax. The kid's bunk room is one of the best children spaces I've ever seen. We spent the week relaxing in the hot tub surrounded by snow, cross country skiing and ice fishing on Tupper Lake, snowshoeing around the property, skiing at Big Tupper and Whiteface, and visiting Saranac Lake and Lake Placid, which are short drives down RTE 3.
The owner, John, couldn't have been nicer and easier to work with and found the caretaker, Mike, extremely accomodating and helpful. All in all, would readily recommend the house to anyone and would love to experience the house in the summer too!
