Thank you Melissa for your kind words. I am so happy that
your trip turned out so well! My husband and I felt very comfortable having you, your family and friends in our home. It made us feel especially connected when you immediately sent photos of you upon your arrival and again with the whole troop posed on the front patio!
Best Regards Always
Leanne & Nick
We have been traveling to Mykonos for more than 25 years and even celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in a tiny traditional church in town surrounded by many friends. We try to spend as much time as possible in our beloved Greece. It was always a dream of ours to one day own a home on a Greek Island. We now pinch ourselves and realize that that dream has become a reality. In the morning we rise to the most glorious uninterrupted views of the famous archeological island Delos and and it's neighboring Cycladic islands Tinos, Naxos and Paros. In the evenings we toast the best sunsets on Mykonos. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have discovered this beautiful oasis. We have all the serene peace of our home combined with all the fun activities of Mykonos town and surrounding areas when we choose. For now, we visit as often as possible. One day it will be our permanent home. That's how much we love it there!
Mykonos has it all. You can choose from both remote, serenity and wild fun activities. It has more beautiful beaches than any other Caclades island. As a professional photographer, I have fallen in love with the magical light and energy of this special island.
Popular attractions on Mykonos include the Folk Museum, the House of Lena, the Svoronos House, the 15th Century-built Saint George Church, the 1883-built Saint Barbara and Saint Fanourios Churches, Laka Square with its eucalyptus and palm trees, the Windmill Plateau with 16th Century windmills, one of Mykonos most popular attractions, where Ancient Cyclades Islanders brought wheat and barley to be milled into flour, Alefkandra which is the 'Little Venice District,' Panagia Paraportiani has five churches built into a compact complex and is one of the island's most photographed structures, the Kastro, Manto Square with the Statue of Manto Mavroyenous, Ano Mera with its 15th Century monastery and church museum, local Mykonian dance shows, the Archaeological Museum with sculptures from Delos, Renia, and Mykonos, the Aegean Maritime Museum with pre-Minoan through 19th Century ships and Ancient artifacts related to the history of Mykonos shipping, and Petros the White Pelican, the official mascot of Mykonos since 1959.
I often put on my hiking shoes and head out our front gate and down the mountain, (part road and part mountain hike) to a tiny private beach below us. I reach it in 15 minutes. Only our neighbors know it's there. If you prefer a car, then Ornos beach is 2 minutes away. You can walk to it if you prefer the exercise. Early morning is a wonderful time to try out the 1/4 mile running track at the bottom of our road. (Have you figured out yet that I'm into exercise?) You can arrange for a massage with Claudia right at the track following your run!
