Let's start out with two words: 'Indoor Pool'. Yes, this beautiful home has an indoor pool. Imagine sled riding on the front lawn of this 20 acre property and then coming inside for a dip in the pool while looking over the beautiful snow covered mountains of Central Pennsylvania. Or imagine hiking the trails at Worlds End State Park and then coming back to a relaxing soak in the 10 person Jacuzzi hot tub. If that doesn't sound like your idea of a 'staycation', how about fishing in our pond or hunting on nearby state gamelands and then coming 'home' to shoot some pool with your buddies? However you like to spend your time, you can do it at the Brown House.
Located at the intersection of Route 220N and Route 154N in Laporte, PA, this home is less than 4 hours from NYC, Philadelphia, and Baltimore. It is within one hour of Elmira and Williamsport, and within two hours of Harrisburg or Altoona.
Why travel far for a weekend get-a-way or week with friends and/or family when you can have a home to yourself where you can enjoy swimming, camping, hunting, and/or hiking at Worlds End State Park or just stay at this self contained miniresort and relax with your loved ones?
In 2010, the owners joined the Lake Mokoma Association. For an additional fee, the renters may go to the lake (less than a one minute drive) and enjoy the beach and all its amenities. Ask Patsy at Robin Real Estate when inquiring about the property!

There is too much fun to be had at the Brown House. Please come and enjoy our home as much as we do. It is truly an escape from the everyday rat race and a place to get away and relax with family and friends. Please treat our home as you would your own so you can come back over and over to get revitalized and renewed as we do every year. One of our favorite things to do in the winter is to go ice skating on New Years Day and then swimming with the cousins for the rest of the evening. Grandma and Pop Pop sit in front of the fire while all the big kids make hot sausage sandwiches and fresh baked cookies. In the summer we hike the Loyalsock Trail at Worlds End, come back and the kids swim while we grill up some hotdogs. After everyone is in their pajamas, outside for smores and campfire songs. Rain or shine, this is a guaranteed great 'staycation'!! This is a picture of us at the Vista Outlook at Worlds End State Park. How Beautiful!

We love this area of Pennsylvania because it is definitely a 'get-a-way' yet close to civilization if you need to get back to the real world quickly. We love having the indoor pool because Pennsylvania is beautiful all year round but only has swimming weather for about 4 months a year. The indoor pool provides swimming all year long. Laporte is a quaint town with a wonderful general store that provides us with everything that we may need. You can be as relaxed at this house or as busy as you want. It is your choice! Basically it is just beautiful!!
The indoor pool is definitely the most unique benefit. Also the hiking and the scenery is some of the most beautiful scenery you will find in the US. This property has so much to offer from family reunions to book writing retreats to honeymoons. Since we recently joined the Lake Mokoma Association in 2010, we have been enjoying the beach and the hiking trails around the lake. It is only a one minute drive from the house. We love this area. Anyone and everyone has fun here!
