We stayed here March 20-27th 2010. The owners were incredibly nice and very helpful. They pointed out the best places to go, the local bars and eateries that suited our tastes and also general navigation for the area. Although we brought our own bikes, the ones they have at the house were surprisingly nice! If I was not so hell-bent on bringing my own bikes, theirs would have been GREAT! The surfboards are classics and easy to learn on. The beaches are about 1.5 miles away and I rode my bike there almost every morning. If you know how to surf hit Huntington Beach. If you are just learning or want to learn to surf, go to Doheny because the waves break and roll in which makes learning easier and safer. If you go to Catalina use the Newport shuttle rather than the Long beach one. It’s less crowded and about 5 minutes from the house. The house was fantastic and the recent remodel of the Master bedroom and bath turned out great. The multi-head shower was delightful. The Jacuzzi worked flawlessly and the backyard/deck area was a pleasure! We made breakfast every morning to get a good start on the day so the dishwasher came in handy. They have all the supplies and then some to do what you need to do.
In closing I want to say this was the best vacation I have had in a long time largely because of the accommodations of the house. Again the owners are extremely nice and helpful. They even called the first morning after we arrived to make sure we didn’t have any questions. I thought that was a nice touch. I have to say, if you have any concerns while you are there, call them and they will help you out right away. Thanks Ken and Liz. You and your home made our vacation one of the best we have ever had!!
