Welcome to our beautiful home in the coast mountains of Oregon.
The Owner purchased this house in 1976
We bought the property as an escape. Yet it's close to the beach and Portland.
Seclusion. Beautiful setting. Very relaxing. Love going to sleep listening to the stream.
I don't know What the last persons problem was, but we had a fantastic time!! We found clean sheets folded in the closets of every bedroom closet and put them on B4 we left and had our used ones washed and in the dryer. All very simple and efficient we thought.
This is a Private Secluded place on acreage in the woods, where you see the CREEK from almost every room! The spring fed pond had a fountain going when we were there and we could turn it off if we wanted to. It was COOL!! A couple of ducks were in there one day!!
We loved the location. It was half way between Portland and the Ocean/Beach. (40-60min either way) We could go either way for the day. Its also close to the Wilson river for fishing and hiking which we love. Our daughter goes to Pacific University in Forest Grove so it was perfect for us all to get together.
This place is not a five star hotel, but that is NOT what we wanted, but it IS a comfortable, country, fun place to stay and "chill" with lots of room and fireplaces and a wood stove... The owners were most accommodating.
We highly recommend this place and we WILL be back again!..
located a good way out of town. no cell service. beds are older. kitchen is useful but few pots/pans/utensils. the pond is a stagnant water hole. they ask you to wash all bedding prior to leaving which isnt a big deal but when you have to leave early to catch a flight is just not reasonable. if i change the bedding out to wash the current bedding then there is still bedding to be washed. which i dont think they wash. the house has a lot of potential but is outdated and needs some tlc. Owners live right next door as well.
Great house and location. Beautiful scenery, lots of room. Only drawback is that the information states walking trails off the property, there is not. You have to walk down a very winding, and sometimes busy road to get to the logger's trail. Otherwise, excellent choice would stay again.
Great place to get away from it all. If you need to be close to shopping, this is not the place for you. Great place to relax and reconnect with friends and family. It's your home away from home.
The drive to this rental took us from PDX, and the hustle and bustle of Portland, through rural Oregon fields and vineyards, and finally into the coastal range. With or without the sun, we felt like we were driving through an emerald forest. We arrived at the rental in short order and, upon entering the house, discovered that the photos on VRBO could not show how nice this place really is. The first floor layout is wide open and large, with views of the creek from all rooms. The upstairs bedrooms and bath are also nicely laid out, with views of the creek from two of the bedrooms and the bath. Sitting in the large living room, with the creek right outside the window, and having a book in one hand and a refreshment in the other was quite relaxing. The drive to Forest Grove is a pleasant one, about 13 miles, where you can find really good grocery stores and various restaurants.
We will definitely stay again.
This house was a perfect getaway from all the hubbub and energy of preparing for my daughter's wedding at a vineyard in nearby Banks. We had peace and only the sound of the running trout stream complete with otter and owl! All was just fine and I would gladly recommend it to anyone.
