Homer is our favorite place to go when we really want to get away. This is our fourth time to Homer. Homer has some great places to stay and it is like you have escaped to heaven. Our stay at Alaska Adventures was a let down. The boat was ok, but the stay in the train car was not. I am sorry but to be honest if the view is what you want then they do have the usually nice view found around Homer. But comfort and being able to work from wherever we go is important to us. We both work on the internet round the clock pretty much, seven days a week, I have vacation rentals and work at home as a teacher. The ad says internet, there was no working internet. They offered for us to go to the office to use the internet. What kind of vacation would that be? When you travel from the other side of the country and pay that price you expect the ad to be correct. I think the owner took it too much as not a problem and that bothers us. Our previous experiences all over Alaska have been top notch. The owner says the foam on the sofa bed was replaced. The springs are gone in that sofa bed. I am sure that some of the listed vacation rentals on this site are nice but I would not recommend the train car.
