This three bedroomed maisonette occupies the top two floors of a charming Edwardian terraced house moments from the hustle and bustle of Oxford Circus.
It's located in the very heart of Central London's quiet Fitzrovia district and so, within walking distance from Oxford Circus, Oxford Street, Regent Street, New Bond Street, Soho, Covent Garden, and London's Theatre District, as well as Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, the British Museum, National and Tate Galleries, 10 Downing Street, Parliament Buildings, Big Ben, Royal Academy, and many other tourist attractions.
There's a wide choice of restaurants, bars, bustling cafés, and shopping amenities 'on the doorstep.' The two local underground (subway) stations, Oxford Circus and Great Portland Street are just five minute's walk away, providing quick and easy access to all other parts of London. The Great Portland Street stop is on the same underground line as Paddington where the Heathrow Express train terminates, enabling you to get to London's Heathrow Airport in half hour from Gosfield Street. Taxis are also plentiful within the area. You'll literally be able to wave one down around the corner, if need be at any time of day or night.
The West End is extremely vibrant, packed with colorful, breathtaking history and as there's always plenty to see and do whatever the time of year, people flock to the area. As well as being famous for a host of well-known tourist attractions, the neighborhood is also surrounded by dozens of shops as you'd expect with it being right in the heart of Central London's West End.
Gosfield Street is conveniently located between the hustle and bustle of Oxford Circus and the tranquility of Regent's Park and is a quiet side street. The apartment, the owner's main residence for 9 years, has been tastefully refurbished and feels like a home rather than a rental. There's plenty of character with unique pieces such as stained glass chapel windows, Edwardian beams, signed David Hockney poster, Queen Anne chairs, a porthole, Persian rugs, gilt mirrors, etc.
Our Gosfield Street apartment is on two levels with the bathroom on the second level and the bedrooms on the third/top level.
The master bedroom features a 30 cm deep memory foam bed, high thread count sheets and a triple solid oak antique wardrobe from Liberty's.
The other 2 bedrooms featuring double beds and wardrobes. There's also a small writing desk in one of the rooms. Oak flooring covers all the floors apart from the staircase and landing which are newly carpetted.
All bedrooms have white goose down feather pillows.
After a busy day of sightseeing or shopping, pop back to the comfort of your temporary London abode, drop off your bags, kick off your shoes, and relax for a couple of hours in front of the fireplace, before heading back out again for an evening of fine dining, entertainment, or a wondrous stroll amidst the spectacular glitz of London's famous West End.

Gosfield Street Apartment Holiday Rental
The Owner purchased this apartment in 1991
This was actually once my own home before it became a vacation rental.
It's close to everything! Oxford Circus, Oxford Street, Regent's Park, Marylebone, everywhere, You are in the heart of Central London at this address yet it's very quiet!
Gosfield St. is the perfect location for anyone who wants to feel like a Londoner, but have easy access to all the local tourist attractions. The flat itself, is a charming two story with comfy furniture and beds. The view out the front windows is the perfect London street scene. My daughters and I stayed for a week in July 2007, and we enjoyed everything about this fabulous little find.
My wife, three daughters (ages 14, 12 and 8) and I had a very nice 4 night stay on Gosling Street. Other than the Tower of London and a couple other places, we generally walked everywhere we wanted. The apartment is actually on two floors, which we really enjoyed as it broke up the sleeping and living areas a bit and made it seem a bit more spacious. The apartment is on a fairly quiet street and the local pubs generally shut down at a reasonable hour so we found it to be very quiet by the time we were getting to bed. The only items I would raise is that the kitchen is small and lightly supplied so if you are planning on a longer stay or really love to cook, you will be a bit underwhelmed. Additionally I thought we'd be OK with only one bathroom but with a wife and three daughters, scheduling showers turned out to be a bit more difficult than I anticipated. But if you're willing to live with those small inconveniences, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the apartment. Anita was very helpful and responsive to all of our pre-arrival questions and was nice enough to inform us ahead of our arrival that construction had started nearby and offered to refund our full deposit if we were worried about it. I very much appreciated the offer and am glad we declined to take her up on it because we barely heard anything and would have missed out on a wonderful apartment.
My husband and our 2 teenage children could not have asked for more on our first trip to London. Wi-Fi was great and the boys each had their own room. Close to everything. The neighborhood was quiet and the people were very nice. Enjoyed walking down to the corner every morning for a cup of coffee. We would definitely stay here again.
We spent 4 weeks at this flat in October 2013. It was our first trip overseas and our first time doing a vacation rental. This apartment was perfect for our needs (wife and I) and its location was ideal. The neighborhood was very friendly, felt perfectly safe at night when coming home and had everything close by; grocery's, restaurants, pubs (Yorkshire Grey at end of street - excellent), coffee shops, etc. and only a short walk to Regent and Oxford, to theatre District and the tube stations became a piece of cake with the option of going to either north to Great Portland or south to Oxford stations. The bus is even closer and a lot of fun once you figure it out (again easy). Anita was fantastic during the planning process and answering any enquiries while we were there. The apartment was exactly what we were looking for as it had a really cool vibe, was clean, neat and everything worked great. The sandwich shop on New Cavendish around the corner (towards the north and left) is awesome, I had several sandwiches there….I would recommend this apartment if you are looking for a great pad in a great location at a reasonable price…and oh yea, we always walked thru the BBC courtyard around the corner (great coffee shop there) on our way to Regent and it was always fun asking the paparazzi who they were waiting for…
This was a spring break trip for our family with three teenage kids and this apartment couldn't have been more well-suited for all of us. The owner was very communicative and responsive, and provided lots of instructions and recommendations. It truly is a quiet, fun little hideaway from the bustle of central London. The Fitzrovia neighborhood is a location few know about about, but provides the best balance between being central to everything, yet tucked away. Some cabbies don't know where Gosfield Street is, so tell them off Great Portland Street, near the BT Tower.
No need to tell you where the basics are - they're all right around the corner on Great Portland (left out of the flat). But make sure you go to Efes 2, the Turkish Restaurant on that street... just incredible food and a good value! (there is an Efes 1, but we didn't eat there). And "The Ship" pub nearby is also fun. Consider a show in the West End Theatre district, but get the really discounted same-day tickets at the TKTS booth in Liecester Square, not far away. Get up early and get there by 8:45 for the 9:00 opening of TKTs and you'll be first in line - well worth it. We got Phantom tickets for almost half off.
Don't waste time searching for another property... this is the one for value and location! Thanks, Anita!
My family stayed at the flat for 8 days over christmas 2013. We are a family of 5 with 3 grown up children. We chose this flat because it was important to us to have 3 bedrooms and be in a location that would enable everyone to come and go as they pleased.
The flat is as the pictures indicate although the bedrooms were smaller then expected and perhaps a bit more sparse. The flat is not luxurious but we were not expecting it to be- it took us awhile to get used to some of the eccentricities of the flat such as the air dried towels that feel like sand paper. We really appreciated having a full kitchen with a washing machine and a living room with enough space for 5 of us to sit. Wifi worked perfectly as well as a landline phone was available for use. Staying here gave us a sense of London that we would not have gotten if we had stayed in 2 hotels rooms which would have cost twice as much.
The building was very quiet and occupies the 3rd and 4 th floor of a row house. It was less then .5km to 3 tube stations and pubs were less then 1/2 block away. This flat is located on a street that is very narrow and more like an alley so had no traffic.
Anita the owner responded promptly to all our questions and was very easy to contact.
I would recommend this flat it was a great choice for our family in a excellent neighbourhood .
Having lived in England (and mostly in Central London for many years) I visited again this year with my whole family. It was important to find an apartment central to the great majority of places of interest in central London. The flat is equipped with everything you will need for your stay. We had two children ( 6 and 8) with us and one of them with special dietary issues, so, cooking meals for him was essential during our stay. We were never short of supplies because there is a supermarket and many other convenient stores around the corner from the apartment. Even on a Sunday, you can get a coffee around the area. We used to go out and take the train or bus very nearby and visited as many landmarks or places of interest as we wished and manage to be on time for meals and out again. The building is also quite and we were never bothered by anyone. Anita was also always at hand if you needed to contact her for anything. During our stay, nothing were wrong with the apartment and everything worked well. I would really recommend this flat for anyone who wishes to be close to excellent transportation and walking distance to many points of interest in the area.
