Recently restored old adobe casita. New pine wood floors and vaulted ceilings. New bathroom addition, with heated floor. New kitchen with concrete countertops and new fixtures. Back yard patio with shade structure. Near downtown art galleries and restaurants.
My wife and I bought this rundown property back in 1999. We have taken the time necessary to restore the buildings in a careful way to preserve it's original features, yet modernize the amenities.
Connie Nelson purchased this house in 1999
The Big Bend region is beautiful. The weather is the best in the country. The town of Marfa is small but contains many art galleries with world class art. You can feel the creative energy in the air. Wonderful friendly people as well.
Easy access to Big Bend National Park, McDonald Observatory, Big Bend State Ranch and Mexico.
this is the cutest house! looks even better than the pictures. it was spotless, and in a perfect location. highly recommend!
We felt at home immediately, and the owner was charming, delightful, informative. First question is, where did you buy the awesome linens and towels? We thoroughly enjoyed the porches, kitchen, living room, bath, and neighborhood. Enjoyed it so much I'm closing on a house the end of May. TopTip: the best breakfast in town is just across the street!
My husband and I recently stayed at the Colores Casita Adobe. We LOVED it! It was spacious, clean, cute, and had everything we needed to be comfortable. It is cheerful and modern, although it still has a minimal rustic quality to it. It fit perfectly with our expectations of Marfa the city. Communication with the host was easy and laid-back. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to those who come to Marfa seeking the simple, quiet, minimalist qualities it is known for.
This charmer was restored by the owner (Mike) and is a stones throw away from the Thunderbird Hotel and other Marfa hot spots. However the same can be said about pretty much anything in Marfa :) This place is PERFECT for a couple or small family as it offers much more room than popular trendy/traditional hotels in Marfa. No joke: my friends paid $15 more for a room at the Paisano that was as big as this place's kitchen! Mike lives nearby and is there when you need him. All around great experience.
The photos do not do this wonderful casita justice. I was thrilled to spend two nights here: the property was spotlessly clean, stylish and extremely comfortable, I could not have felt more at home. As a woman travelling on my own, a sense of security is important: I felt safe here and as a result incredibly relaxed. Finding a coffee maker in the kitchen and good local coffee in the freezer was a joy - an iphone adapted radio and wifi was the icing on the cake!
Stay here, you'll be well rested and extremely happy.
