For your next family reunion or friends getaway, stay at Door County Wisconsin's exclusive vacation experience- KINNEY FARM
KINNEY FARM offers guests a unique vacation experience on a beautiful one hundred acre estate. Conveniently located between the charming villages of Egg Harbor and Fish Creek, this private wildlife sanctuary is one of a kind with its three separate topographical elevations. The lower forty acres features a renovated farmhouse and old dairy barn, fields of corn, and native grasses. The second elevation includes woods and a natural meadow. Undisturbed forest, wandering fields, and a sloping bluff best describes the 'upper' forty acres.
You'll feel like a time traveler staying at this distinctive hundred year old farmhouse. There are five bedrooms, four updated baths, a living room, den, wet bar, and country kitchen. All rooms are lovingly decorated with antiques, interesting art, vintage nautical and equestrian items.
For your enjoyment, both the den and living room have native stone fireplaces in addition to flat screen TVs. We provide an all age video library (DVD & VHS) , along with a variety of CDs, novels, and books on local history. There are cards, board games, and puzzles for all ages, but you have a hundred acres to explore!
Plan to hike, hunt for arrowheads, and gather antlers. In the den you'll find binoculars, bird watching manuals, and a telescope to view the abundant wildlife and incredibly bright stars.
Parents with young children are comforted by the expansive 'yard' for them to play within view of the house.
The well appointed kitchen has two full sized refrigerators, a large oven, and a separate eating area. While the whole house fan and individual room fans will handle any warm days, you'll want to bring an extra sweater for those cooler evenings 'dining out' on the fully screened porch.
You may prefer to gather around the outdoor fire pit with your family and friends to roast marshmallows, star gaze, or simply reconnect.
Its a short walk down Juddville road to the Green Bay shoreline, take your fishing pole or kayak. There are multiple public boat launches, all less than 4 miles from the farm. Kinney Farms long circular drive provides easy access and parking for your boat trailer. Off the back porch, you'll find both a gas and charcoal grill for cooking your 'catch of the day'.
While this property is pet friendly, including a fenced double dog run, we ask that you check with us about specific requirements when making reservations.
Door County is a vacation paradise with much to offer. In the house, we share a list of our favorite local places and activities for your consideration.
After a day in the village or on the water, its comforting to know that you can come back to what our guests refer to as 'A Little Piece of Heaven'-- the KINNEY FARM.

Our parents purchased this property in the early 1960's as a wonderful place to enjoy our summers as a family. Since then, our extended families have enjoyed spending that same quality time at the farm with our children and friends. We are very proud of the Kinney Farm and wish to share this unique opportunity with you, your friends, and family.

While only 10 miles across, Door County has more than 300 miles of shoreline, 10 historic lighthouses, 5 state parks, and several small islands. The county consists of 24 towns/villages and has a permanent population of about 29,000.
In addition to boating and fishing (with charters available), there are several places to rent kayaks, bikes, and mo-peds. Activities include golfing, antiquing, horseback riding, hands on art studios, and public sand beaches. There are 3 popular live-theater venues, a rare drive-in outdoor movie theater, galleries, quaint restaurants, fish boils, cherry picking, and numerous local festivals. There are activities for all ages!

We enjoy hiking around the perimeter of the property. Making it easier to stay within the property, we've wrapped tree trunks with orange pastic snow fencing, usually within sight of other wrapped trees. Holding on to small trees makes it easier while decending the bluff side. It's challenging but fun. The less adventurous and novice hikers may want to stay on paths and walk around the fields.
I was so excited to find the Kinney Farm property for a reunion weekend with friends and it turned out to be exactly what I was hoping for. The space was perfectly comfortable for a larger group with 5 bedrooms (with very cozy beds), 4 bathrooms, 2 sitting areas, a large kitchen with a dining area and a fabulous screen porch. We enjoyed cooking many meals in the large kitchen, making fancy cocktails in the lovely vintage glassware and exploring the property. It was so nice to have privacy on the property and to be able to play night games in the large lawn area surrounding the house. Our border collie, Cal, also had a blast! The property was also conveniently close to both Egg Harbor and Fish Creek, as well as Peninsula State Park. If you're looking for a comfortable large rental with a vintage feel, I highly recommend Kinney Farm!
We are lucky enough to have just returned from a stay at Kinney Farm. We had an absolutely wonderful time & I highly recommend the farm. The farmhouse was warm and welcoming (and very well cared for) and we enjoyed exploring the extensive grounds. The farm had everything we needed; we prepared several meals, played numerous games of croquet, Pictionary and Clue, visited and explored the area. I appreciated all of different areas, which allowed for both opportunities to be together as a family, as well as enough space to be alone. We were delighted to find WiFi and an extensive DVD and video selection, as well as indoor and outdoor games. The Farm is close to both Fish Creek and Egg Harbor, with all kinds of activities. This is a one of a kind place to stay and I hope to be able to return some day.
This summer my family including my parents, my son, and our dog enjoyed our third visit to the Kinney Farm. As always, we had a fantastic time! The Kinney Farm has truly become our Home away from Home. We love everything about this special place. Every night we watched for deer and were thrilled about our nightly visitors from the forest. My three year old loved being at this farm, and I loved the privacy of this home - so many places for us to explore, though far from a busy street. The owners of this property clearly love their family home and take pride in sharing it with others. Our favorite place in the house was the large screened in porch where we have always spent most of our time enjoying meals, playing games, and watching for wildlife. We will be counting the days until we can return once again!
Our family (parents, adult children, and grandchildren) loved staying at Kinney Farm. The farmhouse was clean and nicely decorated. It was large enough that we never felt crowded. We appreciated having 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. It has everything you need in the kitchen and for grilling. The kids and adults enjoyed playing in the large yard. The screened porch is wonderful. You can enjoy being outside and not be bothered by insects. We ate all of our dinners at the large table on the porch. After visiting the often-crowded Door County attractions, it was nice to return to the peace and natural beauty of Kinney Farm.
We have stayed at Kinney Farm twice now and expect to stay again in the near future. We love Kinney Farm for the following reasons -
1. It's far from anything or anybody else.
2. We can bring the dogs. (We have two full size Collies)
3. The house is immaculately clean and comfortable.
4. There is more than enough space in the kitchen and the kitchen has everything we need. (we love to cook)
The group that stayed at the farm was of all ages. Everybody enjoyed staying. The house is spacious, well maintained and furnished. Very quiet and completely restful. A short walk to the shoreline or a bike ride into Fish Creek. We used the screened porch all the time even though we stayed when it was slightly chilly.
We took Liz's idea to walk down to the waterfront after dinner. Walking down the hill is definitely easier than walking up, but what a great way to burn calories.
The bedrooms aren't large and could best be described as cozy. Definitely big enough for us, especially since we spent waking hours downstairs, outdoors, or in town.
It would be nice if they accepted credit cards, but I can understand not doing so because it isn't managed by a corporation or owned by someone with multiple properties.
It shows that Kinney Farm is owned and maintained by the Kinneys. They were very easy to deal with and I hope to return.
Public access to the shoreline is within walking distance from the property. Nature walks/ hiking/ exploring available on the property. Horseback riding 1/2 hour away. Bike scenic back roads to Fish Creek or Egg Harbor. Close to live theatre, art studios, unique shopping (gifts, crafts, antique stores and malls) and an outdoor movie theatre!
Kinney Farm is centrally located to 'All' the goodstuff Door county has to offer.
