Come enjoy our beautiful 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage, proudly owned by my family since the 1960’s. Your home away from home is located on a slope under a canopy of mature hardwood trees, affording wonderful views of Lake Wallenpaupack, located only 200’ from the front door. Enjoy the fieldstone patio with your group, where you’ll grill, enjoy the views from the 8’ picnic table, and relax on chaise lounges during the day, and during the evening, roast marshmallows and make smores at the firepit. Enjoy the views, your favorite beverage, and conversation on the covered front porch, furnished with comfortable outdoor furniture. Bring your boat, up to 24’L, and moor it in your own slip located directly across the street, in protected, no wake water. Navigate the Big Lake, 13 miles long, where you'll swim, tube, ski, and fish, or throw out the anchor and enjoy captivating scenery. Enjoy the convenience of the no wake zone opposite the cottage, about 1.5 miles in length, great for the kayaking or canoeing enthusiast. Take a short drive to the beach, or to the outdoor recreational area, where you’ll enjoy the clean, heated, lifeguarded outdoor swimming pool and kiddie pool, play tennis, shoot some hoops, play volleyball, and horseshoes, or take a well-deserved break and watch the children as they enjoy the playground. Walk to lake or pond fishing, too!

About Mark Laudenslager

I am married to Judy. We have been married 26 years.

I am employed in the public safety sector, 31 years with the same agency. Judy works part- time as a respiratory therapist for the past 30 years, with the same hospital, and FULL time being a great mother and wife.

Mark enjoys being with the girls, at the Lake, especially when on the family boat, and also coaching for Special Olympics.

Judy enjoys yoga, reading and being a mom.

Gretchen likes music, dancing, basketball, yoga, walking, swimming, and tubing on the Lake.

My parents bought this cottage in the mid 60's, when I was 5 years old. I have many fond memories of our cottage and the Lake. My parents worked very hard to provide our family a vacation home to enjoy and be proud of. I always knew that it was important to keep the Lake in my life as I grew older. I fulfilled my dream of staying firmly connected to the Lake, and bought the cottage from my siblings in 2010. I am grateful for the compromise by my wife and daughter, as owning a second home comes with sacrifices. We have made alot of improvements to the cottage, and I enjoy reading about the great experiences our renters have had.

What makes this cottage unique

The location of the cottage is wonderful. There is convenience to the lake with the added benefit of accessibility to the swimming pool, tennis courts, and playground. There are also pleasant views of the lake, especially after the leaves fall. Our cottage offers a blend of rustic charm with the modern conveniences of Wifi, HDTV, AC, and free long distance. The property is enjoyed and maintained by the owner. The property owners are hands-on, and actually alternate cleanings with a cleaning woman, not a service, to assure that the property is cleaned to a level you would expect. The owner's reliability and life-long connection to this property translate into a committment to the property that will assure satisfaction with your rental experience! Owner actually pays a higher electric rate and subscribes to a 100% renewable electric service provider. Electric supply to this property compliments of 100% wind energy!

Fantastic Getaway!

Our family renewed a long-standing tradition of fall-mountain trip to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday.
The cottage was perfect! Spacious, clean, w/beautiful views of lake, and surrounding woods. We were a large group; 18 came for the day, 9 stayed for the weekend, and we had so much fun! We enjoyed several "walk-abouts" through Indian Rocks, as well as the lake- colors where incredible to see! The cottage kitchen had everything we needed to cook and prepare meals. Beds are comfy, and plenty of blankets were on hand. The patio and fire-pit area was where we spent majority of our time, and it was just great! The large picnic table and other chairs, made sure everyone had a place to relax. The owners are wonderful people, and we are so glad to have met them! Just can't give enough praise for them, or their mountain cottage, and can't say thank you, enough, for sharing this beautiful place with us!!!

perfect pocono getaway

a group of friends and i ventured to the poconos from new york city for an early autumn getaway. this place is a perfect spot to unwind from the hustle and bustle of the city. the house itself is cozy, and provided more than enough room to sleep 8 of us. the highlights for us were the outdoor firepit and grilling area, around which we relaxed all evening, and the table tennis in the garage. the owner, mark, is incredibly helpful. he responds quickly to requests and went above and beyond what could be expected in order to ensure we had everything we needed. i highly recommend this peaceful and beautiful pocono cottage.

perfect pocono getaway

a group of friends and i ventured to the poconos from new york city for an early autumn getaway. this place is a perfect spot to unwind from the hustle and bustle of the city. the house itself is cozy, and provided more than enough room to sleep 8 of us. the highlights for us were the outdoor firepit and grilling area, around which we relaxed all evening, and the table tennis in the garage. the owner, mark, is incredibly helpful. he responds quickly to requests and went above and beyond what could be expected in order to ensure we had everything we needed. i highly recommend this peaceful and beautiful pocono cottage.
