A great mountain getaway less than an hour's drive from Downtown Portland. The cabin sits on an aged lot amongst fir, pine and cedar trees. The vaulted ceiling and numerous windows give an in-the-forest spacious feeling while lounging by the gas fireplace. Just outside hear the rushing Sandy River, the call of stellar jays, and the scent of the cedar/fir/big leaf maple forest while relaxing in the hot tub on the rear deck.

The first floor has a large kitchen, dining area, living room, bedroom, and a full bath. And it is equipped with all of today's comforts -- washer/dryer, dish washer, microwave, refrigerator, small appliances (bagel toaster, coffee pot, waffle iron, and food processor). As well as a handsome gas stove to warm up by after a day of skiing. The bedroom has a queen bed and in the living room there is a double hide-a-bed.

The second floor (or loft) has another bathroom (1/2), bunk bed, and double futon bed -- all situated to look out at the forest layers and glimpse of mountain. One step out the sliding door to the balcony and you feel like you are up in the trees. Upstairs also is equipped with a TV and DVD/VCR player -- a well stocked video store can be found less than a mile away.

This cabin is in a residential neighborhood with full time neighbors.

This home has a strictly enforced 6 person guest limit and noise ordinance. Parties are not permitted.

Great little Cabin in the woods

The cabin is cute and cozy. My only disappointment was the fireplace is gas and i love a real wood fireplace, I am sure it said it was a gas fireplace somewhere. The location is great and you can hear the rushing water of the river. It is a short walk to the river and fun to walk along it and explore. The mountain air is so refreshing. We had a wonderful time and the staff of Vacasa was very helpful and accomodating. Great vacation!

A very comfortable house

A very comfortable house.
This house was very clean and comfortable. We spent our days hiking on different trails on Mt. Hood, and this house was convenient to those trails and to the stores and restaurants. It was so nice to have all the big windows, so we had plenty of natural light. The "yard" seemed neglected, and the huge rock planter, full of weeds, was in the way for us to park our full sized truck up next to the house. But the inside was well taken care of. The water has a slight sulfur smell, but it didn't alter the taste. We filled up our water bottles for our hikes and didn't taste a thing. The only thing that was missing was a cutting board in the kitchen. Other than that, for the 2 of us, it had everything we needed. We would rent this house again.

Cozy stay at a cabin in the woods

We stayed at the Brightwood Cabin over the Labour day weekend for three nights and four days. We had excellent time, and would recommend it for a couple or small family. It was perfect four our small family of three. It is located near several Mt. Hood lakes, and hiking grounds. Perfect for folks who want to get away from the city to have a relaxing stay.

Our snowy retreat

The cabin was great. We came for my sons 6th birthday - and it snowed!!! The kids loved the cozy winter wonderland. The hot tub was also a big plus. The loft was great for the kids, and there is a park just across the street with lots of great walking trails and wonderful views. There is a restaurant just down the street, El Burro, which was just unbelievable - best Mexican food I've ever had. We had a fabulous time!
