Ideal home and location!!

Highly recommend!!! Our family of 5 adults found this the perfect place to stay. A quiet and relaxing oceanfront property, just a 5 minute (free) Ferry ride to the action in Key West. It provided the best of both worlds and I would not hesitate to return. We arrived in Key West at 5pm. As instructed, we called Ralph from the airport and he met us at the Ferry near sunset pier and joined us on the short ride to the island. We chose to have a bellman from the Westin transport our luggage to the house, which was very convenient. From the dock it was a short walk to the home which was beautifully designed/decorated, clean and comfortable (exactly as described). I had made advance reservations at Lattitudes (5 houses away) for dinner, which worked out very well (lunch, breakfast and bar menu is great too). Three of us took a taxi the following day to Publix grocery and loaded up for the week. The ferry captain offered to have someone golf-cart the groceries to the house, but we opted to carry them ourselves. Fausto's (a smaller grocer will deliver if you prefer). We alternated grilling by the pool and eating out in Key West. The kitchen was well appointed with everything needed for dining/cooking/grilling and offered plenty of ice and a quality blender. There were quality linnens and more than enough bath and beach towels. My bed was a bit firm for me, but fine. The big open living space had a huge comfortable sofa and flat screen (although I think we only turned the TV on once). The sound system was outstanding with speakers and volume controls throughout the house and patio (iphone/pod friendly). We enjoyed swimming in the pool and ocean and the unforgettable views of the palm trees, passing sailboats and sunsets. The patio is surrounded by plantings and private. The beach is sandy, but I recommend water shoes due to coral that washes up at the waters edge. We even found a conch shell. The owner Daniel was great to deal with and my security deposit was refunded promptly.

the best vaction ever!!

Words cannot describe how magicial this place is. We arrived in the afternoon an hour before a glowing sunset. The house is large, well appointed and in a tranquil setting. We enjoyed playing bocce on the beach in front and napped in the hammock tied to a of couple palm trees on the beach in the afternoons. The pool was perfect after a barbeque of Mahi Mahi and cocktails on the patio. The house itself was immaculate and the beds were very comfortable. The master bath shower has two shower heads and a whirlpool bath that was excellent. Central air and stereo in each room was fantastic to say the least. We wondered about the ease of taking a ferry to town at first, but the boat ran 24/7 every half hour. This proved to work out perfectly, we could be in the hustle and bustle of the downtown restaurants like BOs, Mangos, Blue Heaven etc. and 10 minutes later we were back to enjoy our peaceful spot on Sunset Key. We've rented a number of vacation homes over the years but this was by far the most impressive and enjoyable place yet!

Sunset Key is a very special place and this is a wonderful home. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We spent every day sitting by the pool watching the activity on the water directly in front of the house. We also enjoyed the enormous kitchen and easy delivery from the grocery store in Key West. Trips back and forth to Key West are very easy but we saw little reason to leave the island. Dinner at Latitudes is not to be missed. If you are looking to relax, you won't be disappointed.

Spring Beach Vacation

My husband, daughter and I spent a fabulous week in Key West staying in this home. It was wonderful because the house itself is located in a quiet area and has its own private pool and beach, but it is just a very quick and easy boat ride from the lively Key West downtown shopping area. We ventured into Key West most days we were there to pick up groceries or shop or do other things, but it was also really nice to have our own pool and beach right outside our door. We spent a ton of time playing in the pool and on the beach. The house is very nice and clean and is open and airy. We would love to visit again sometime!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
