The two- story cabin offers ample space, excellent beds and furnishings, original oil paintings by hill country artists, views that inspire, a fully stocked kitchen for a big country breakfast, a two-person whirlpool tub. It is a great place for two couples to get away for a weekend or a family is reconnect for a week in the country air. The road it is located on is not a through road so there is almost no traffic. A great place to walk and bike. A wonderful place to sit on the balcony and look over the Palo Alto Creek Valley with a glass of wine and watch the moon rise!. If you are a cyclist, it is the perfect location to connect to the best biking roads in the hill country. We invite you to come and retreat to little piece of Texas hill country heaven.
A beautiful place to retreat....: This is a beautiful place to let your hair down and enjoy the views of the Texas Hill Country. This cabin is located on a farm with cows, chickens, clean air, peace and quiet. It is only three miles from downtown Fredericksburg, so the shopping, restaurants, and fun are only minutes away. The beautiful amenities and full kitchen make you feel right at home. A safe place for children, a great place to bike and walk and gaze at the moon and stars. This is a great place for bicyclists because we are at the entrance point to most of the great biking roads in the Hill Country.
I am a member of the faculty at Texas Lutheran University in Seguin,TX. I teach voice, music education and direct two choirs. I love to sing, ride horses, fish, teach, run our guest houses and babysit our first granddaughter.
Laura Jenschke purchased this cabin in 2005
We bought this property because of the beautiful houses, amazing trees, views and its short distance to downtown Fredericksburg. You are out in the country but minutes from town.
The guest house has beautiful touches of wood trim and tile floors, high ceilings, beautiful views, peace and quiet.
My friends/coworkers and I had a fabulous time at this property. It was very accommodating and perfect for our weekend getaway! The owners were very helpful with local recommendations for food and wineries. We had a blast sitting by the fire pit and loved the closeness of the property to the city. We will definitely be visiting again! Thanks!
This place is awesome if you are looking for a quiet comfortable home away from home. My family just returned from here and can't say enough good things. The house was very clean and was equipped with all the essentials (clean towels, cookware, breakfast food, etc.) It was so nice to be close to all the Fredericksburg attractions but still tucked away from the traffic and noise. My husband especially enjoyed the deer watching, we saw three big bucks in velvet so that was pretty cool.
Had my daughter and two granddaughters with me. This was a very kid friendly place. Great bathrooms and bedrooms. TV in both bedrooms and living area. Washer and dryer located in one of the bathrooms. Beautiful location. Easy to get to.
Best vacation rental ever! So much better than a hotel and a great price! Tons of breakfast food/drinks. Comfortable beds, beautiful views, fire pit and only 3 miles from downtown Fredericksburg! Fantastic!!!
Such a beautiful cabin! Sitting on the back porch overlooking the hills - so relaxing! The eggs from the chickens (that we hung out with for a short time) were delicious. Eating breakfast in the nook couldn't have been better. I almost considered taking the bed home with me - it was fluffy and wonderful! Really couldn't have asked for anything better. We were totally smitten with this property. And I got engaged while in Fredericksburg! Perfect weekend. The ONLY issue I had was the shower head. My hair is pretty long and it took a while to wash it. Other than that - GREAT! Thanks Laurie!
The cabin is great. We were greeted by Laurie, and felt very welcome. Her and Daniel had plans to be away for the entire time we were staying, but a neighbor was available for anything we needed. We needed nothing because it was all there. The best was the fresh eggs. My wife and sister really enjoyed watching the chickens, especially when they would run toward them when called. Our weekend was very causal and relaxing, playing cards, going to a show and eating out. Would highly recommend the cabin, especially for seniors or couples.

In the heart of Texas Hill Country, Fredericksburg is a small city with a unique German flavor in its quaint bakeries, Hauptstrasse (Main Street) boutiques and generations-old peach orchards. Weekenders from nearby San Antonio and Austin have long appreciated the charm of the city's many B&Bs and 'Sunday House' Inns. The surrounding Texas Hill Country is home to lush vineyards, making up one of the country's largest viticultural areas. Fredericksburg and the surrounding areas host many wine-tasting events at the many local wineries.
Other Activities: wine-tasting, shopping, bike and motorcycle riding, deer hunting
