Yarmouth Port Cottage Rental Photos and Description

2 bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, sleeps 4-5

Adorable 2-bedroom cottage on large 1/3 acre lot on quiet side street near bay beach.

Cape Cod Doll House: This is our third season renting this adorable cottage just a mile from a quiet family friendly life-guarded beach. Grey's Beach has a wonderful boardwalk out over the marsh and also has a nice sandy beach. There is an adjacent covered picnic area at Grey's Beach and restroom facilities. The cottage is walking distance to a town playground as well. This cottage is also suitable for two couples since the upstairs has its own lavatory, and a door at the top of the stairs for privacy.

Charming but economical: Why pay for a large expensive 3 bedroom house when all you need is a cute, convenient, well equipped place to use as your home base? We love this little cottage and we think you will too! Beautiful residential area of larger year-round homes. Walking distance to charming town of Yarmouth Port shops and restaurants.

Suitability:
  • Low Allergen Environment
  • children welcome
  • non smoking only
  • pets not allowed
  • suitable for elderly or infirm

Warm & cozy cottage

Warm & cozy cottage
  • 5 of 5
My husband and I were delighted to find this cozy, clean cottage for our recent fall get away. The home is beautifully decorated with a nice, soft nautical feel and is centrally located mid cape with easy access to restaurants and shops. Gray's Beach is about a mile away with its beautiful views along the boardwalk. This home was a perfect size for our getaway, but would be just as nice and comfortable for 4 with its 2 bathrooms and 2 private bedrooms. The fireplace was a nice touch too! Pat was a real pleasure to work with and I appreciated her prompt replies to my e-mail messages. We hope to come back next summer & stay a bit longer! Thank you Pat & Bob for sharing your beautiful cottage with us! As you can probably tell, we loved it!

Perfect Fit

  • 5 of 5
Enjoyed a great week in Yarmouth Port, the cottage was just as described, felt just like home. The location was on nice quite street and centrally located in the mid-cape area which made it easy to travel around the Cape and enjoy the whole experience. When we return to the Cape we will no doubt get a hold of Pat and see if the place is available, Pat was excellent to work with, thanks again

Loved our Stay

  • 5 of 5
This is the 3rd year we have stayed at this cottage and LOVE it. The neighborhood is very quiet and quaint. From the moment you step in you feel at home and welcomed. They have everything in the cottage that you could possibly need for cooking, comfort, and outdoor relaxation. The location is close to beaches or any part of the Cape you may wish to visit. Can't wait for our next stay! It is definitely Home away from Home!

Cute, but not the best fit for us

  • 3 of 5
While the cottage is cute and true to the Cape style, we were just a bit disappointed by some things. However, this was our first vacation home rental experience and perhaps our expectations were set too high. I had to clean mildew from the shower and shower curtain upon our arrival and when cleaning prior to our departure, I felt like was wiping months-worth of dust off of most surfaces. When my parents had a rental beach home, they would thoroughly clean between tenants, and I am not sure this is done at this home. There were also post-it notes about doors "sticking", but the bathroom doorknob actually fell off into our hands almost every time we tried to exit the bathroom to the kitchen! Overall, the amenities of the home were adequate and beach chairs, bike and washer/dryer were used and appreciated. Grill was also appreciated, despite gas tank being empty. The neighborhood was nice and quiet, but the location of the home was not a good fit for our young family, as we had to drive to all restaurants, beaches and activities (perhaps a location further out on the Cape would have been more similar to the "beachy" environment we are familiar with in NJ, Myrtle Beach?). I guess we weren't expecting the Cape to be so wooded with a chance of a fox walking through the backyard watching us eat - although he seemed friendly (and hungry?)!
The cottage owners seem like very nice people and have a nice cottage that would suit several vacationers, but in my opinion, it is more appropriate for the 55+ age group or couples that want a more residential and less beachy getaway. The owners had good communication with us via mail with contract and an informative letter prior to our arrival.
I have learned that I should do more research on my own (aside from reading rental profiles and reviews on this site) prior to booking rentals in the future, to make sure it will be a good fit for our family.

Owner's Response: We are really sorry that this guest was disappointed in the cottage. I am especially concerned about her comments about the cleanliness of the cottage since having a clean cottage is of the utmost importance to us. Each guest signs a lease that says they will leave the cottage clean, but we never trust that every guest abides by that. Therefore we have the cottage cleaned before and after every tenant. We have never had a cleaning complaint before and I have passed it on to the cleaning person. We have had the same cleaning person for the four years we have owned the cottage. We keep a fresh new shower curtain available in the linen closet in the bathroom and of course the old one is being replaced immediately. I am allergic to dust and mold and have been in the cottage after the cleaning woman on several occasions and did not notice dust or mold. I do know she is conscientious about coming because one time her son was in a car accident and she still came to clean while her husband went to the hospital. That was above and beyond. I am calling our handyman about the door knob in the bathroom and it will be replaced.I am also sorry the propane ran out on the grill. I have emailed the tenant and offered to pay for the propane her husband went to get.It is hard to know how much grilling the guests are doing and we do not feel comfortable leaving an extra full propane tank in the basement in a rental property where children might get at it.Unfortunately, the guest did not call us about any of these problems while she was there so we are only hearing about them now, 3 weeks later. We would have arranged for additional cleaning, propane refill, and door knob fix while she was there had we known. As to the location, I do think it is clearly described in our cottage description and in the reviews from other guests. It is definitely not like Myrtle Beach. I would like to note that the two tenants in the following two weeks immediately after this tenant both requested to re-book the cottage next year. Again, I am really sorry about the problems this tenant had. I'm sure if you read other reviews of the cottage you will realize that this was not the norm.

Perfect !

What a lovely little gem of a cottage! Very well appointed and full of those litle touches that make you feel right at home.
Ideally located for touring around the cape. We stayed here for 3 nights April 17 -20 and felt so welcome. Perfect ambience for our long weekend get-away.
Highly recommend.

Very Comfortable, CHarming, and Convenient

My wife and I stayed here for a week and had everything we needed for a nice, restful stay. This is a good location to explore the Cape, and is nestled in a quiet neighborhood, right off the scenic King's Highway. I would highly recommend it.

Yarmouth Port is 'Old Cape Cod' at its best...quaint old homes, charming shops, fine restaurants, and of course close proximity to beautiful bay beaches. This is the less commercial side of Cape Cod where you can walk or bike to the beach without crossing any major highways. You are also about half way out on the Cape so if you want to explore Plymouth, Hyannis, or Provincetown, it is an easy drive. Likewise the National Seashore and ocean beaches are readily accessible.
