Vieques Island House Rental Photos and Description
3 bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms, sleeps 6
When you're on vacation, the house you stay at should be as beautiful as the surroundings you're in. This modern eco-lux house, designed by John Hix, and finished in September of 2009, epitomizes that idea.
No matter where you are in the house. Kitchen, living room, or the bedrooms, you see an uninterrupted vista of trees, that culminates in the wide blue sea. The house was built to take advantage of prevailing breezes, so it's always cool. Whether you're barbecuing by the pool, or having a drink on the roof deck watching the sun set into the ocean, the ramp house is a relaxing, organic experience. If you need air-conditioning and wide-screen tv, then this house isn't for you. But, if you like indoor/outdoor living, waking up to the sound of the birds, the warm breeze on your skin, then this is the place. Due to it's design, The Ramp House is not appropriate for children under ten years of age.
- pets not allowed
- wheelchair inaccessible
- unsuitable for elderly or infirm

Guestbook comments from the manager
What a place! What a vacation! We had such a marvelous time at the Ramp House and in Vieques. What a unique and wonderful house! Its openness was a gift, as was its simplicity. The concrete was intimidating the first few hours, but we quickly fell in love with its serenity. The spareness of the place was utterly soothing - something I aspire to in my own home. Being directed toward the pool and the view, not to mention the up-close foliage and the horses, was spectacular. And the bedrooms were magical - again, the view, the simplicity, being treated to the night sky, to the dawn, but most of all, to the elegant mosquito net. Going to bed was something I looked forward to. The room and the netting made a gentle enclosure. And the accessibility of the pool! What a luxury to step from your living room into the water and to swim in such private circumstances. Oh, thank you, thank you to the owners for making their home available for our family to enjoy. We were also very grateful for the owner's booklet of recommendations. (Not to mention his photographs, which were outstanding!!) We enjoyed discovering parts of Vieques and some of its amazing beaches. The weather and the scenery were also a gift. And now, after a well-rested week away, we are home. I wish I could crawl under the netting tonight.
