The suite was completed in August 2009 with the comfort and pleasure of our guests in mind. We strive to give our guests the privacy, rest and relaxation they require. There is a 42 inch flat screen HD TV in the living room as well as a second flat screen HD TV in the bedroom. There is a comfortable Murphy bed with a tempur-pedic queen mattress in the living room. All mattresses are new.
Out on the patio you will be serenaded by the sound of running water from the creek beside the lot.
My favorite room in the suite is the spa bathroom, consisting of a large soaker tub and walk in shower with seat.
My name is Joanne, I live and work in North Vancouver. My husband Tom and I moved to the West coast for the more laid back life style ....... we do like to relax . When we go on holidays we are particular about our accommodations, they have to be inviting and comfortable. It was with this attitude that we planned our renovation and have opened our property to visitors.
The Owner purchased this apartment in 2010
What a great suite in a nice quiet neighbourhood! We loved the location and all the amenities of the suite. The owners are attentive, caring and do everything to ensure a pleasant stay. The suite is spacious, modern and very clean. We loved the spa style bathroom with heated floors and soaker tub! The owners greeted us upon arrival and made us feel at home straight away. We were provided with enough food to create a tasty first meal... and with some yummy eclairs to satisfy our sweet tooth. This was a fantastic rental for our time in Vancouver. A real gem and true home away from home! We would love to come back for another stay.
My husband and I returned to Nature on Norwood because we had such a fabulous experience in the summer of 2013. The owners informed us that there was likely to be construction next door. We decided it was still worth it to be in that beautifully decorated, well-maintained suite and to have access to so many places in the area that we had enjoyed last summer.
The owners greeted us when we arrived & had a booklet with all the info we would need during our stay. Essential phone numbers & a nearby market & supermarket were neatly placed on a board in the kitchen. The owners do not leave a stone unturned. They informed us of some events coming up at Lonsdale Quay & in West Vancouver, & elsewhere, that we thoroughly enjoyed. They graciously provided a generous number of food items to get us started, so we didn't have to shop after the long drive we had. We particularly enjoyed the Organic Mega 3 eggs and the Canadian syrup (best we ever had) which we used when we made pancakes. There was a rich, sweet surprise as well, in the frig.
The listing description & photos were accurate. The suite looks brand new & was clean and beautifully decorated. All the modern appliances work perfectly. The frig is huge & it's easy to get items in and out. Washer & dryer are top of the line. There is great lighting inside & outside the suite. Plenty of towels & linens. Comfy throws on the living room couch. Large TV, books, magazines, maps, games, and suggestions of places to go are in the suite. All the comforts of home.
My husband was thrilled again to have use of an outdoor barbecue, & we had several mouth-watering meals which we enjoyed on the deck. We always feel relaxed while sitting on the rocking chairs on the patio and feeling "one with it all" among their lovely flowers, shrubs & huge trees. Nature on Norwood, indeed.
We have told friends & relatives about our experience and would recommend this property. We hiked in local parks, such as, Lynn Valley, and tood shorter walks in nearby local parks. Drove to West Vancouver to walk along the bay. Drove over the Lions Gate Bridge to Stanley Park. Drove to Costco in both Burnaby & in Vancouver City. Locally, besides the nearby market the owners suggested, we discovered a Persian market on 15th St. near Lonsdale Ave, where we bought many delicious fruits & veggies at great prices (blueberries, cherries, corn, & small Persian cucumbers). Ate at several Persian restaurants & pubs on Lonsdale Ave. as well. Glad we came back!
We were driving across Canada, and camping along the way. This suite was a wonderful respite on our journey. Our host made it easy for us; the accommodations were spotless, the beds were scrumptious, the bath was lovely and and everything was relaxing. The location was superb, a short drive to Stanley Park, downtown Vancouver and Capilano. It was nestled in a quiet, forest-like setting and we enjoyed the views from our window and deck.
We would encourage anyone visiting the Vancouver area to treat themselves to a stay at this property. Whether visiting for pleasure, adventures, business or whatever, this property will delight!
Our initial communication with Joanne & Tom, on VRBO & telephone, before we arrived, went well. Both were friendly & professional, answering all our communication promptly. Financial transactions went smoothly. Directions to their home were perfect. When we arrived, we were welcomed & Tom took us around the spotless apartment. Everything looked brand new & was in excellent condition. Joanne had pertinent info on a message board, as well as in a folder w. info on nearby furit & veggie shop, grocery stores, restaurants & attractions. Photos & items mentioned in their listing were accurate
We stayed for a month at this beautifully decorated, modern apartment, with top-end appliances, provisions & treats to get us started, comfy reclining chair & couch, comfy bed & lovely bedding, & fabulous modern bathroom w. a huge tub & shower. Lighting indoors & outdoors was impressive. Wifi & the large flat-screened TV worked perfectly. Kitchen was well equipped and roomy.
Spent a lot of time on the private, covered patio, relaxing on cushioned rocking chairs and enjoying the serenity of the natural tall trees & the beauty of the hosts flower-pots and plants. It was cool & shaded most of the day. Adjoining the patio & up a step, was a generous deck w. a table & seating for four, and a grill that Tom helped us to use.
The convenient location made it easy for us to drive to a variety of parks in the area and other attractions. Our hosts had all the info needed for access to these parks & to other popular destinations. Joanne told us how to use public transportation to get into the city, which we used. However, our favorite place, was their home & its environs, & finding trails we could handle in the nearby parks. We were lucky to have perfect weather. It was difficult for us to leave the peacefulness & the comfort of their apartment. Hope to plan another stay in the near future.
We have already recommended this apt. to friends & relatives. Went to Lynn Valley Headquarters & took trail to Rice Lake. Went to nearby Princess Park & Cleveland Dam Park. Attended Harmony Festival in W. Vancouver, Drove west on Hwy 1 to Horseshoe Bay & Ferry Terminal. Drove east on Hwy 1 to Cate's Park & Deep Cove. Drove to Costco in Vancouver City & in Burnaby. Hearty breakfast & dinner specials at 80's Restaurant. Ate at Mythos Greek Rest. on Lonsdale Ave. Took public transportation to Stepho's Greek Taverna on Davies St. in city. Recommend roast lamb, For local produce, ask hosts.
Our 12 day stay at Nature on Norwood was everything we expected and more. The location is peaceful and conveniently located to all that Vancouver has to offer. Short drive to the local mountains, the beach, downtown and about 1-1/2 hrs to Whistler. We were in town to visit family and friends and couldn't have asked for a lovelier place to stay. The weather was cold during our visit but the heated floors and fire place kept us toasty warm at all times. The owners are very hospitable and meticulously maintain the suite. The pictures represent the property well. We would highly recommend this suite to anyone visiting North Vancouver at any time of the year. We hope to be back some time soon.
We had an opportunity to stay in this suite for two months (September and October), while in between homes. Being North Vancouver residents, we had a great pleasure staying in our hometown. However…we felt like we were on a vacation the entire time!
Joanne and Tom have created a modern and well-appointed 1-bedroom suite. It had everything we needed to function through our daily lives. A fantastic bathroom with soaker tub to erase the stresses of the day, a fireplace to sit by and watch a good movie. Although we had only a couple of weeks in September to enjoy the patio and BBQ – there is no doubt this is a great space to enjoy the summer evenings!
As a vacationer – there is nothing you need! Just pick up a bag of groceries and enjoy cooking in the well laid out kitchen. There are many restaurants in North Vancouver, lots of hiking trails and quick access to downtown Vancouver.
The jewels of this property – sounds of the creek and the peaceful forest that surrounds. Oh and of course – the hosts! Joanne and Tom!
