In the heart of Vancouver's Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood, the EcoLoft is a 15 minute drive or transit ride to the airport, 10 minutes to downtown, and even closer to popular destinations including Queen Elizabeth Park, Trout Lake (swimming, park, picnic area), Science World, Granville Island, and the eclectic Commercial Drive scene. Within a 10 minute walk are the emerging Fraser St scene and Main Street shopping district which offer a range of eclectic boutiques, cafes, yoga studios, galleries, restaurants, bars and more.
For those without a car, the Ecoloft is within blocks of three arterial bus routes (25 King Edward, 19 Kingsway, and 22 Knight) which connect you rapidly to various Sky Train routes including the Canada Line which gets you to the airport or downtown within 15 minutes. The Ecoloft is a short walk from Broadway where the 99 B-line express bus transports you from east to west across the city. BC Children's Hospital, BC Women's Hospital and Mount Saint Joseph Hospitals are all within minutes by bus or car.
Amidst the hundred-year-old oak trees which line the streets of our quiet residential neighborhood, all the things you will need to make your stay enjoyable are within walking distance.
Within 2 blocks you will find: Liquor store, Neighborhood Pub, Restaurants of all kinds (Sushi, French, Seafood, Indian, BC's famous WhiteSpot, Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, Vegan etc., Children's park, Coffee Shops with reknown french cuisine, German baking and more, Public Library, Famous Foods & Price Smart Supermarkets and a Pharmacy.
We are the owners of the main house on the property. In 2009 we built the first laneway house built by owner in our neighbourhood under new city zoning that was inspired by the city's eco-density initiatives. Superior craftsmanship, functional design and sustainable living have guided the creation of this unique space. We welcome feedback and enjoy connecting with our guests that come from near and far to stay close to family in the neighbourhood, or simply to enjoy the comfort yet convenience of our residential, yet central city location. We welcome families and pets and have supplies to accommodate both children and your furry friends which can be arranged as needed. We are believers in the process of Kaizen, 'slow and constant change' so always welcome the feedback of our guests.

We live in the main house on the property and LOVE our neighborhood. It is the most community oriented place we have ever lived, and is also the most urban place we have every lived. Having both grown up in more suburban locales the novelty of being right in the city has never worn off. We really value the proximity of our property to so many of the wonderful things the city has to offer, within walking, biking or short drive distances. We also love the beautiful trees and green space along our street and at the park 100m from our house. Though we are in a very central location, our house is in a protected centre of a quiet and beautiful neighborhood bordered by major streets which get you where you want to go very quickly. Many families in our neighbourhood rent their basement suites and need space to accommodate their out of town guests. Our loft is the perfect spot for friends and family members to stay close by.
The radiant heating in the concrete floor, the high ceilings, abundant natural light, and beautiful wood accents. It just feels good to be in the space.
Dear Alison & Peter: We really enjoyed our stay at the Ecoloft. We found the space to be perfect for our needs. The open concept and extendable tables made it a very guest friendly space. We even had a birthday for our son with some guests and the space accommodated this with no problem. The kitchen is beautiful and fully functional so we were able to cook dinner for 6 people no problem. We would certainly not hesitate to book the loft again on our next trip back to Vancouver! We stayed for 2 nights with a family of four (2 kids under 10). It was very well located, easy to park, and a lovely space. It seemed to have lots of kitchen supplies (we didn't do any cooking), and I think would make a lovely get-away for a couple. The area was quiet at night, but not far from activities. Overall, I would recommend it.
The Ecoloft is located right in the centre of the city of Vancouver. Enjoy the fine coffee, shopping and restaurants in the ethnically diverse Commercial drive district. Explore the galleries, fine dining, boutiques, ice cream parlour, cafes, parks, yoga studios and more in our thriving Fraser/Kingsway neighborhood. Find the vintage, hipster boutiques, antique stores, vast range of cafes, chocolate shop, bakeries (including gluten free) and more on Main St, a 15 minute walk from the loft. There is so much to explore whether you want a short walk, or adventure to kitsilano beach, the north shore mountains, the Olympic Village and False creek, or other fabulous Vancouver destinations.
