Remodeled West Maui, Kahana Sunset, Ocean View, Private Beach

My stay at the Kahana Sunset was wonderful. Our condo was very comfortable, had an incredible ocean view & was equipped with everything we could have wanted or needed. The grounds were beautifully kept. Indeed a magical place!

My wife and I stayed here with my three boys (6 yr. old twins and 10 yr old) and my mom. To be honest, I would be lying if I didn't have any criticisms. It's only fair and there are only two. 1. On very hot days some type of A/C would have been nice 2. The trash trucks and buses begin early and the noise of these two vehicles can be heard easily from the rear bedroom. If you can deal with these, and trust me they aren't that bad, what awaits you is magic! First, booking this unit was easy. My dealings with the owner were fantastic and lead me to believe he is a man of character. Friendly, helpful, responsive, and trustworthy. The actual unit is EXACTLY as the photos depict. This unit has an amazing view and two large decks from which to view it. It is also one of the few units to have a retractable shade awning on the lower patio which added to the outdoor comfort. The unit is older but very clean and nice (I wish it were mine). It is well appointed and has television, books, movies, and internet. There are ceiling fans in every room, and your covered (free) parking stall is right outside your door. Very convenient. It handled my family with no problem.
The grounds are very nice and constantly being maintained. There are clean BBQ's, a heated swimming pool, lounge chairs, and a herb garden/citrus trees which guests can use. The beach is second to none. As a matter of fact, my kids told me they liked our beach better than any we visited. The beach is primarily sand with some rock jettys. Chairs are provided for you along with showers when you decide to leave. A very safe beach for kids. The water is calm, clear, and was full of turtles. A monk seal even came into the cove. We met and interacted with several resident owners.
Our British neighbor P** and her husband are awesome. Thank you so much for the conversation, your Maui book, and your invitation back. We really enjoyed your company. So, I could go on and on.
In a nutshell, Kahana Sunset is just comfortable. As we were leaving, I couldn't help but feel that we were leaving our home and new found friends. It was great and would recommend to anyone. My favorite part of the condo... a picture of the owner with his family in the stairwell. This is what life is about. And by the way, "M" the manager...we like you! Activities director knowledgeable and saved us some $'s. Last, if you are coming to Maui and like to laugh until you cry...book the Annabelle and Warren show!

We’ve been coming to Maui for over ten years now and have stayed in a few different Kahana Sunset condos (A, B and C units). Your unit was truly the total package and I can’t imagine having to stay any where else from this year forward!

First of all we lacked for nothing. We have stayed in only renovated units and this unit exceeded our expectations. The condo was nicely furnished, well maintained and better stocked than even our kitchen at home! Having the washer and dryer upstairs was a big bonus as well.

The views of the grounds and ocean from the lanai’s were wonderful. It was also nice that in the heat of the late afternoon we could come up to the condo and take in the views under the shade of the canopy.

We don’t like to spill the beans about Kahana Sunset to many people as we honestly feel like we struck gold when we stumbled on these units. It’s even harder to disclose which unit we liked the best over the years because we selfishly want to make sure it’s available for our stay each year :) but it’s unfair not to share these great experiences.

We loved your condo, plan on booking it next year at the same time and will keep coming back as many years as you’ll let us!
