Quiet, Peaceful, Romantic.

This Oceanfront condominium is in a gated community of only 5 small Oceanfront buildings. Dramatic coastal views from a large balcony, a short trail to hidden sandy beach, and a wood burning fireplace; the perfect romantic getaway. The condominium is adjacent to a 12 mile coastal park. The trail along the coast begins on the property.

Brookings, Oregon is in the 'Banana Belt'; a 30 mile, temperate micro-climate zone, with relatively stable year round temperatures. Sunny days are more common here than anywhere on the Northwest coast. Brookings is 6 miles from the Northern California border. Within 30 minutes to ancient California Redwood Groves. To the North is a 30 mile scenic corridor containing some of the most beautiful, ruggedly scenic coastline in the world; the Wild Rivers Coast. We provide a wonderfully furnished, well appointed condominium.

BEAUTIFUL VIEWS, COMFORTABLE CONDO.

  • 5 of 5
We celebrated our thirtieth wedding anniversary by staying almost three weeks. The beautiful condo was stocked with everything anyone could need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Debbie, the owner, was always quick to respond to our E-mails and give us any information we might need. We enjoyed drinking our morning coffee and watching the fishing boats. We also watched a pod of Orcas from the deck. We explored the area from Bandon,OR to Eureka,CA. Some favorite places were the Samoa Cookhouse, Chetco Point, Trees of Mystery, and Fern Canyon. It is a beautiful area and we saw lots of deer and elk. We highly recommend this property and hope to return again.

TAKE TIME TO SMELL THE ROSEMARY

  • 5 of 5
I'd agree with all of what's been written so far - awesome place, stunning surroundings, great people, and so many things to see and do nearby. My 5 days spent there (Sept 2012) were amazing but not enough. In addition to the area attractions, I'd advise saving time to enjoy "just being there" to linger on the deck with coffee and watch the harbor seals hold on till the tide sweeps them off their rock :-) to nap in the hammock while listening to the ocean :-) to use the binoculars for whale watching :-) to wander the coastline that's literally in the front yard :-) Snip off a spring of Rosemary from the bush in the back yard (parking lot) and get inspired while cooking in the fully stocked kitchen. Next trip (May 2014) I look forward to all those things, plus time in wine country and white water rafting over Grant's Pass. It's the perfect Mothers Day gift EVER :-) I have recommended this condo many times to friends and family. Also recommend a minimum 1 week stay - 10 days would be more refreshing!

ALL THE COMFORTS OF HOME W A SERENE & MAJESTIC LOC

Review cont: Hawk’s Rest Ranch at Pistol River, if you’re a good rider the beach ride was defiantly a check off my bucket list. At Gold Beach defiantly check out Jerry’s Jet Boats for the 104mi journey up river we saw eagles, black bear and otters! Also at Gold Beach another favorite activity is watching the sea birds and pinnipeds fish off of the break walls.
Just a short drive to the south into California from the condo you can access the Redwood National forest (defiantly another bucket list check mark). I highly recommend the Boyscout Trail; just the drive to the trail head is gorgeous. Klamath River is also another location I recommend I’ve seen whales from the overlook every time I’ve been there, just be patient.
The owners of the condo are very accommodating, and keep the condo in wonderful condition. They were even available for questions while I was staying there.
I hope you enjoy your stay as much as I did. I recommend this condo for family and romantic getaways.

I have stayed in this condo twice and I haven’t been disappointed with anything about my stays here. I hope to return again in 2014. I have been here in March and May I’m hoping to come at different times during the year to experience all this location has to offer. In short the condo has all the comforts of home in a superb location in close proximity to many of the area’s attractions, please read further for more details!
The location of this property is serene and majestic; the residents of the condo community are quiet and friendly. The unique views from the balcony are stunning no matter the weather conditions. Using the large indoor binoculars you can spot whales, seals, sea birds and other wildlife without leaving the condo. You have access to the private beach below the condos which is wonderful for walks, workouts and “treasure hunts”.
The condo is warmly furnished giving you all the comforts of home. The condo’s kitchen is stocked with plenty of cooking utensils, pots/pans, dishes, ect for cooking in. The condo also features a washer and dryer saving room in your suitcase for all your souvenirs. Both of the beds are extremely comfortable with good linens. The condo also has a T.V./DVD in the living room the as well as master bedroom giving you plenty of entertainment at night or on a rainy day. One of my favorite features, with the exception of the view, is the fireplace it’s great coming in from a day of sightseeing and curling up next to a fire.
The location of this property is wonderful located just outside the small town of Brookings. Brookings is at the center of many great attractions to this area, I was within a 1hr drive my entire trip. The town offers plenty of restaurants for all price ranges as well as grocery stores for cooking supplies. There are also several specialty shops and gift shops in the main part of town. The harbor is also nice to visit you can see plenty of wildlife around this area including seals and otters.
Just a short drive to the north is Gold Beach which offers many additional amenities. In between these two towns is a vast array of hiking trails that offer spectacular views of the landscape and wildlife. My favorite hike in this area is Indian Sands; this location has a view of everything from cliffs, sand dunes, to a waterfall. It’s best to visit this place on a sunny day to see the range of colors displayed at this location. If you’re into horses pay a visit to Hawk’s Rest Ranch ...

SPOUTING WHALES, LOUNGING SEALS, DIVING PELICANS!

  • 5 of 5
Great location for our vacation. The nearly private beach was accessible from a trail in front of the condo. We went to the Redwoods/Crescent City for a day-very easy drive. Went to Loeb State Park on the Chetco River twice. Followed the road past the state park for about 9 miles. Many places to access the river from that road. The weather at the condo was mostly cloudy & foggy when we were there, so going up the river a bit provided warmer temps and clearer skies. However, the day before we departed, the weather improved at the condo & it was great! We saw spouting whales, lounging seals, diving pelicans and other shorebirds. Rainbow Rock is a geologic feature that is quite stunning. The condo was great. Two bedrooms, 2 baths, full kitchen, deck, internet access, a great telescope, binoculars and a washer & dryer! The property overall was very quiet, so probably not a great spot for kids. Our teen daughter was with us and she liked it fine. Easy access to the city of Brookings that has a couple of larger grocery stores, including a Fred Myers. The owners were very easy to work with. This was my first experience with VRBO and it was nothing but positive.

MILLION DOLLAR VIEW!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I just returned from a weeklong stay at the Rainbow Rock Retreat. It is by far the best place we have ever stayed with all the charm and amenities this condo provides. The place was quiet, clean, comfortable, safe, and it came with a million dollar view! The pictures on the home website are incredible, but the oceanview and the beauty that surrounds this place are breathtaking. You can hear the sounds of the ocean all day long. There's a well marked path that lead you to a private beach below the condo, which is accessible only when it's at low tide. The beach is extraodinary because you may see only your own footprints in the sand; hardly a sole around. The rock formations are facinating and the Rainbow Rock tunnel is a must see as its colors are indescribable. Put your message in the sand and it disappears within hours when high tide comes in. It's magical.
Be sure to take the special coastal trail near the condo that will lead you into the forest and toward Lone Beach. It's a memorable hike that captures more beautiful sights to enjoy. The owners are wonderful to work with, very accommodating and they offer so many suggestions on their home website.
Our visit to Rainbow Rock Retreat is unforgettable and the memories are everlasting. We're so glad to have discovered this special place and are thankful we had a chance to stay there. A million dollar view at an affordable price!
