Quiet, Peaceful, Romantic.
This Oceanfront end unit condominium is in a gated community of only 5 small Oceanfront buildings. Our condominium is in the only building that faces more Westward than Southward, giving optimum ocean views and unlike other units, we have windows along the entire North side of the unit, offering ocean views from two sides of the condominium (including views from the living room, dining area, kitchen window, and master bedroom windows). We have a large 150mm Zeiss designed binocular telescope mounted in the living room to view, ships, whales and other wildlife (see picture). Our unit offers dramatic coastal views from a large balcony (the largest of the balconies available), a short trail to hidden sandy beach, and a wood burning fireplace; the perfect romantic getaway. The condominium is adjacent to a 12 mile coastal park. The trail along the coast begins on the property.
Brookings, Oregon is in the 'Banana Belt'; a 30 mile, temperate micro-climate zone, with relatively stable year round temperatures. Sunny days are more common here than anywhere on the Northwest coast. Brookings is 6 miles from the Northern California border. Within 30 minutes to ancient California Redwood Groves. To the North is a 30 mile scenic corridor containing some of the most beautiful, ruggedly scenic coastline in the world; the Wild Rivers Coast. We provide a wonderfully furnished, well appointed condominium.

We literally traveled that world looking for a vacation home that would combine scenic beauty, low population, serenity, moderate climate, hiking accessibility, and ocean view. This offers all of these and more!
Unlike other vacation rentals, we do not charge extra fees for the third and fourth guests. We have a mounted 150mm Zeiss designed binocular telescope in the living room in front of the large picture window. We have down comforters on both beds and two flat screen televisions. We offer extra ocean viewing along the entire North side of the building as we are an end unit. We have DVDs, a laptop, a nice stereo/cd player, and books to enjoy. We have one of the few wood fireplaces in the community. We have a George Foreman grill for use on the balcony, and an espresso maker in the kitchen.
We had a wonderful time at the Rainbow Rock Retreat condo. The view is unbelievable! Within minutes of arriving, we had already spotted whales! The provided binoculars were a fun bonus as well. The patio provides a perfect view over the ocean. We also had a great time walking the path down to the beach and exploring. The kitchen was well-stocked and the beds were very comfortable. This is a fantastic location and a gorgeous condo. Thank you for a lovely stay!
We thoroughly enjoyed our four night stay at the Rainbow Rock Retreat in Brookings. Everything about the condo was as described and the views and setting are spectacular. The condo is comfortable and furnished with everything you would need. A special bonus is the high powered large binoculars in the living room. It was nice to have a real wood burning fireplace for a cozy fire. The owner was great to work with and responsive to questions. We will definitely return for future visits.
This property had amazing views of the ocean. We were even fortunate enough to catch of few glimpses of the whales. The condo was clean and well-maintained. It was located in a great spot; just out of Brookings but a short commute into town. The owners gave us a few restaurant recommendations which turned out to be spot on. I highly recommend this property.
We celebrated our thirtieth wedding anniversary by staying almost three weeks. The beautiful condo was stocked with everything anyone could need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Debbie, the owner, was always quick to respond to our E-mails and give us any information we might need. We enjoyed drinking our morning coffee and watching the fishing boats. We also watched a pod of Orcas from the deck. We explored the area from Bandon,OR to Eureka,CA. Some favorite places were the Samoa Cookhouse, Chetco Point, Trees of Mystery, and Fern Canyon. It is a beautiful area and we saw lots of deer and elk. We highly recommend this property and hope to return again.
I'd agree with all of what's been written so far - awesome place, stunning surroundings, great people, and so many things to see and do nearby. My 5 days spent there (Sept 2012) were amazing but not enough. In addition to the area attractions, I'd advise saving time to enjoy "just being there" to linger on the deck with coffee and watch the harbor seals hold on till the tide sweeps them off their rock :-) to nap in the hammock while listening to the ocean :-) to use the binoculars for whale watching :-) to wander the coastline that's literally in the front yard :-) Snip off a spring of Rosemary from the bush in the back yard (parking lot) and get inspired while cooking in the fully stocked kitchen. Next trip (May 2014) I look forward to all those things, plus time in wine country and white water rafting over Grant's Pass. It's the perfect Mothers Day gift EVER :-) I have recommended this condo many times to friends and family. Also recommend a minimum 1 week stay - 10 days would be more refreshing!
Review cont: Hawk’s Rest Ranch at Pistol River, if you’re a good rider the beach ride was defiantly a check off my bucket list. At Gold Beach defiantly check out Jerry’s Jet Boats for the 104mi journey up river we saw eagles, black bear and otters! Also at Gold Beach another favorite activity is watching the sea birds and pinnipeds fish off of the break walls.
Just a short drive to the south into California from the condo you can access the Redwood National forest (defiantly another bucket list check mark). I highly recommend the Boyscout Trail; just the drive to the trail head is gorgeous. Klamath River is also another location I recommend I’ve seen whales from the overlook every time I’ve been there, just be patient.
The owners of the condo are very accommodating, and keep the condo in wonderful condition. They were even available for questions while I was staying there.
I hope you enjoy your stay as much as I did. I recommend this condo for family and romantic getaways.
Quiet, small gated oceanfront condominium community on a gentle bluff above a sandy beach in a rugged and scenic coastal area, adjacent to coastal park and hiking trails. The trail to the beach is leads you to a virtually private cove. Within two miles of the quaint coastal harbor town of Brookings-Harbor, Oregon. There you will find fresh fish markets, art and antiques stores, a movie theatre, DVD rental, groceries, sports related stores, Kayak/surf equipment rental, restaurants, medical clinics, and more. The nearest private beach property is nearly 1/3 mile to the South and there are no private beach properties for about 14 miles to the North. The Community property is adjacent to the beginning of a 14 mile coastal park (the Samuel H. Boardman Scenic Coastal Corridor) with continuous trails and both forest and coastal trail access. You can literally walk out of the condo and onto the trail!
